    Quake3 based games 90FPS max?

    I was trying that \cg_drawfps thing in RTCW and the FPS were always round between 70-90. But never above 90 in the resolution I was playing at. So I tried 640x480 to see how high it would go, but now it was at a constant 90. Checked v-sync but it was turned of. This seemed strange to me so I tried Star Trek Elite Force with the expansion only to find out that drawfps doesn't work in that game. So I turned on fraps and the FPS never got higher than 90 again. Gladly there is the possibility of a time demo in eliteforce so I loaded one up and it gave 138FPS at a res of 1152x864x32.

    HOw come that the fps is capped at max of 90 when playing the games?

    Radeon 8500LE

    Your FPS will be capped by the variable com_maxfps. Set this variable to 0 to remove the cap... though make sure you keep the cap on for net games or else you'll experience massive lag.

    Typing cmdlist and cvarlist will give you a list of all the available commands and variables for the Q3 engine.
