It's lookin good. However I still have some doubts on how the gameplay will be though. The reason why I like UT is because of it's manic pace and free-flowing gameplay. I just hope UT2K3 keeps the same formula or improves apon it. Hopefully the latter .

No recoil. At least not in the build that I know about.

That's not necessarily a bad thing for this type of game though. And if it's something someone wants for a particular mod of the game, it should be possible to add it in, since the physics engine itself is pretty impressive. People I know of with the last leaked build talked about messing around in the single player, killing bots, then watching their bodies roll down inclines / steps, etc, realistically. (No more of that body lies horizontal while on an incline or hanging 9/10 over the edge of a ledge)

FWIW, I also have read in an official post from Epic that they've been surprised by the optimizations in later builds- ie. the minimum target was a GF1 class card, and they've managed to get it running on TNT class hardware, though with the absolute lowest settings for everything, and still and what I wouldn't consider playable. Of course, this was a later build than the leak. The leak was smooth as butter on my Ti4600 at 1024x768x32, all details maxed, 2xFSAA, 4x aniso (quite a bit considering the unfinished state of the engine), and only stutters when using it for LAN/internet play (there are a couple cracks floating around..).

yeah, thats the ion cannon, ive heard that you point some kind of laser on your target, then just click fire and bring down the fury. i hope they still have the redemeer, i saw a vid with mark rein explaining that it would be in ut2003, but ive never seen any pics or vids with a gun resembling it.

The gameplay will be like the original UT, so if you didn't like that you won't like this game. IMO, UT is probably the best multiplayer FPS of all time, it was actually an improvement over Quake 2, rather than a step in the wrong direction (Quake 3).
