It's difficult to compare with Bungie's Halo games, considering they're over a decade old by now, but this is where the games sit in my head in terms of single player campaigns:
1. Halo CE, Halo 3, Halo Reach
2. Halo ODST, Halo Infinite
3. Halo 2, Halo 4
4. Halo 5
- Halo 3 - Amazingly polished, epic in every way.
- Halo 1 - Absolutely ground-breaking for it's time. Several levels still stand up very well today, especially the outdoor levels. Best graphics found on any platform at the time... it was prolly 2 years before PC games started to surpass it. I miss those days when console launch titles could leap-frog PC graphics. Loads of nostalgia there.
- Halo 2 - Loads of core-gameplay polish, lots of interesting set-pieces, spectacular multiplayer with a more sporty feel. Incredible graphics for a console game at the time.
- Halo Reach - Great side-quest kind of game. Had performance issues on the 360 (that got resolved with bc support on xbone) that hampered my enjoyment quite a bit.
- Halo 4 - Amazing graphics, especially for the 360. Good storytelling. Lots of good action, when it wasn't too monotonous.
- Halo ODST - Fun mission pack. There was a game-breaking bug that stopped me from accessing the last part of the game though... eventually I started over and finally beat it but I was pissed.
- Halo 5 - 60fps is nice. No splitscreen coop was unforgiveable though. Storyline was a mess... too bad 'cause they had some really great actors' performances.
Haven't ranked Halo Infinite yet, as I'm still only a few hours in.Originally posted by KACTo be honest I never even found doom 3 to be scary since I have a big dick since birth.

I don't think I've played Halo since the second game, but I'm having a blast with Halo Infinite.

Looks at your above statement, and realizing how far we've come / how entitled we are today.Originally posted by KACTo be honest I never even found doom 3 to be scary since I have a big dick since birth.

Don’t know about entitled but I do like close to 100 fps or higher on my shooters. That is why I play 1440P. I am ok with 60-85 fps for non FPS games.
Halo Infinite runs like dog **** on a 3070 maxed out at 1440P with around 60-65 fps and that is why I ordered a 3080 12 GB for my secondary computer. Same was true for Far Cry 6 with texture streaming issues on 3070.
Finally I can play those games without this nonsense. I really hope Nvidia doesn’t cripple the 4070 with 8 GB ram nonsense.

I missed the Xbox 360 era completely, so I really find people's enthusiasm for Halo 3 (and especially ODST) a bit surprising.
Of the Bungie games, they are the most bland. What makes Infinite so good is that it resembles 1, 2, and Reach.Originally posted by Koenig39Okeh zhentlemain, we well commonce spe-cial operashun "Surraindair" at four-dirty. Looking back on it, it's easy to criticize Halo 3 for it's overall lack of innovation, but that's kindof missing the point, that Halo 3 really nailed everything it did.Originally posted by KACTo be honest I never even found doom 3 to be scary since I have a big dick since birth.

Textures are very ugly, and colors aren't great. It was designed for CRTs, and still works well on a CRT. Actually, alot of the game is very attractive on a CRT, and is still one of the best looking games for consoles at the time.
- Halo 2 had a very "sporty" feel, pushing alot of gameplay elements a bit over the top, and often unbalanced. Especially the laser sword lunge attack, where it flings you like 20 feet. Actually I thought it was really fun... but I can see why they toned it down for the sequel.
- Story cinematics were really amazing for the time, but the remastered version improvements really prove how alot of the incomprehensible story actually was due to the original's limited ability effectively tell the story with the graphics limitations they had. I had played through the original game several times over the years, and always thought the story was a mess... so I was really surprised playing the remaster and seeing how tight the storytelling was there. Those improved cinematics really make all the difference, especially for differentiating key characters, etc.
- Halo 2's ending was clearly rushed, and it showed.
- Halo 2's multiplayer is shockingly good, and still stands up incredibly well. I like to attend PRGE each year, and they typically have a large xbox lan set up, with 16 player Halo2 games going. I'm always shocked at how good that game is, when you drop into a large multiplayer match. There's been a couple years where I've gone with friends or cousins, and we end up spending an entire evening playing Halo 2 there... completely losing track of time.

I desperately wanted to have played all the mainline Halo games, so I got that "first month Game Pass for €1", and used it to stream Halo 5, so I could play it on PC using an Xbox One gamepad. In terms of gameplay, it's a dull mess and in terms of story, it's just a mess. 343 tried to bury Halo 5 as hard as they could for Infinite, so they could make a whole new mess instead of building on an old one.May the Yods be silent
