I personally don’t have the skill to evade hits like they were though. Besides, I enjoy the caster/melee combo, whether it be sorceries or incantations. I honestly don’t think I would put anything past some players in the Souls community. Heck one guy just beat the game fists only.

While we're talking quality-of-life adjustments for From Soft.
One thing that irritates me greatly..
I have 5 tons of gear in my inventory. It's weightless for all intents and purposes.
I have armor that I'm currently wearing that contributes to load. Ok.
I have Armaments equipped and MIGHT equip. They all contribute to load whether I'm using them at that moment or not.
This sets up a scenario where you can't effectively toggle between different weapons unless they're really light. 2 different colossal swords and heavy armor? Yeah, right. several different katanas and daggers? Sure, why not?
I don't see any reason why non-active armaments should be contributing to load other than it makes their load calculator in the equipment menu straightforward. The load setup penalizes people for using heavy gear by reducing flexibility. For example, I had to unequip a bow due to load. If I ever want to use It I need to go through the cumbersome menu to requip, shoot the bow, then unequip it again. It's just annoying.A hobbiest foundry and forge in progress, plans, suppliers, showcasing ideas

Have you seen how fast some people can equip weapons from their inventory?
I watched a video of a PvP battle with one guy having a dozen of the same colossal sword each with a different affinity. He would quickly switch from each that had heavy/blood/magic/frost/fire, etc depending on which guy he was fighting. It was nuts.

I’ve swapped out during battle, but only if I have plenty of breathing room. Nothing like what he was doing.

Either way, basically they're saying "git good" = creating a macro to switch weapons? Even if totally legit, that means that it's not intended to really be a restriction at all and they should just drop it.A hobbiest foundry and forge in progress, plans, suppliers, showcasing ideas

So I’m trying out dual beast man curved swords, the same ones they gutted me with and fed me my own intestines in Faraam Azula
My current specs let me use the weapons properly, but I’m only hitting at half damage with them. Even so, with the jump attack talisman and the raptors set, the damage is already over the top. It just feels strange without a shield, so I’ll have to up my game + there’s a talisman for that lol.
I think this is what I might take into NG+ on this run. It’s shiny, new and something I haven’t done before. I just have to find a boss to test it out on and….other than the 3 worms guarding the item behind the Ashen capital (Ganked by 3 ulcerated worms >. No thanks) I can’t find any left alive.
Boss list time.
EDIT: Quick update. Power stance with these swords is one of those OP things. Bleed hits almost instantly, Wormface boss went down in about 15 seconds, NPC invader I completely missed earlier (Eleanor) took about 30 seconds…It’s just hard making myself dodge/roll where I used to block.
Funny thing is…I’m still not specced properly for these. I have them both at +25, but my stats just meet minimum requirements. No wonder I see so many players using similar. The damage output is worth the damage you might take for not using a shield.Last edited by Lazy8s; Apr 26, 2022, 01:35 AM.

Looks like a new OP bleed build has been found.
Bleed status build has reached peak form and it's UNSTOPPABLE! Enjoy!Support us on Patreon: http://bit.ly/1FUac4SDiscord: https://discord.gg/fQH5bucMonster H...

You simply need to spam jump attacks with dual Scavenger's Curved Swords.
They do 4 hits in one attack, which means you get an almost guaranteed bleed proc each time.

Didn't Lazy8s post a vid few weeks back of a build with powerstance curved swords with bleed absolutely destroying Malenia in like 4 seconds? It may have been these same swords, or maybe beastman's curved swords.
Either way yeah, I have been seeing people doing builds like this. Very powerful. But not sure it would be that fun spamming the same goofy jump attacks through the whole game.

It’s good to win, but not much fun imo. Softer enemies - it’s really good. I’m using the Beast mans curved swords now if I didn’t mention that before. The other issue with the video’s build is that there’s one sword you can find in the world, and (per a couple of Reddit threads) the farming rate for those swords is lower than normal, or nil.
So to have 2 of them means either someone dropped one for him, or he’s in NG+.

Great one shot strength build here. Also very tempting
Edit: I tried this out. Hits like a truck, but I was taking too many hits. Not for me.Last edited by Lazy8s; Apr 27, 2022, 03:58 AM.

a bit off-topic, but that really looks amazing

(Sidenote: He did this to a lot of games, they all look great, kinda like stop-motion)

The points he makes about her not obeying the game's established rules about hyper-armor and staggering is a blatant example of From Soft moving the goal posts on their own combat mechanics. Its more evidence to what I've been saying about them just prioritizing more visual flash and spectacle, rather than solid fair combat rules. Also I think they are getting lazy about making more challenging bosses, or just running out of new ways to do it.
As an aside, his analysis of staggering reminded me that I kind of wish you could also see the enemy's "stance / stagger" bar in From Soft's games,
along with their health bar. Kind of like how it is in Nioh with the enemy's Ki bar. Its obvious they have an invisible stagger meter, would be nice to get some kind of visual indication of it. Yet another thing I prefer in the Nioh games I guess.

Feels like they could just reduce the range of the waterfowl in order to make her a little more fair.
And IMO, as she is now, she kind of needs her rulebreaking behavior, she would be far to easy if you could poisebreak her the proper way, the way that she slowly walks towards you leaves her too vulnerable for fast, poisebreaking attacks like the lions claw.

Re: the bold, I mentioned that earlier during my boss AOE rant and completely agree. Makes me wonder what we’ll see the next game they release.

Anyways, level 135 or so, at the secret tree thing for some reason looking for more OP weaponry, Mohg fork with additional bleed is nice along with black knife tiche my fav summon so far… ah I’ve just remembered why I’m here, I’m meant to get another summon that meant to be good… damn this game !Specs: Asus Z170-A Mobo | Intel i7-6700k 4GHz | Sapphire RX5600XT Pulse 6G | 16GB DDR4 3000MHz PC4-22400 | Samsung U28E570D 4K | Thrustmaster Hotas X Joystick | Win10 Pro

Hey Thr0tt - A couple of tips if you like.
Use Mohg’s great rune + flame grant me strength + jellyfish shield + Tiche
Flame grant me strength + the shield are cheap, fast and strong buffs, and the great rune grants Tiche a massive boost when bleed is present.
Or go the Blasphemous Blade route with those buffs + Dragon incantations.
I’m using the latter in NG+ and the bosses just melt, they’re the easiest part of the game.

I finally jumped down the rabbit hole and started playing. So far it has been far more accessible than all other From Software games. The open world takes a lot of the stress out of reaching next checkpoint. Can just hop on horse and outrun everything when necessary. Plus having the spirit summons gives you free enemy aggro. I followed FightingCowboy’s guide to get a powerful start and it was a bit overkill and game is too easy right now. Cool world, lots to do and discover.

Kind of hard to explain, but IMO Elden Ring is From Soft's easiest and hardest game at the same time.
The change to open world and all the quality of life improvements makes the game far easier overall. But it also has some incredibly difficult bosses especially if you want to fight them solo without summons. One boss in particular is their hardest boss ever. Thankfully its optional though.
But yeah if you're using a guide to get the OP items and build, you'll be fine.

Dropping a surprise dragon on you spitting distance from the start of the game is no way to encourage exploration of the map!! Took me a while, but I dealt with that fooker. Take that From!!

Friend of mine guided me through the first few moments of the game, and I've been running in circles in the starting area familiarizing myself with anything and everything. I feel like I'm still in the first five minutes of the game, despite the handful of hours of playtime. I'm no longer scared of the Stormfront Ruin, that's about as far as I've got.
So I figured I'd have a look at Stormfront Gate. Let me walk through, kill some soldiers, see what's what and call it a night, alright?
Troll said no.
Troll said **** you.
I said well I got a sword, so **** you right back.
Troll said I GOT A BIGGER SWORD, so **** YOU some more.
I ran out of comebacks, so I'll do the Elden Ring thing and... comeback later.May the Yods be silent

That game had much higher graphical fidelity and rock solid performance.

Originally posted by SD-[Inc] View PostElden ring does have pussy mode too. Just hop on your horse and sprint on by. You can activate a new Grace past the tall ugly dude and open up some more exploring. Then kill him later. You can open up the map for an area by grabbing an item from a special map tower. If you look closely you can see these locations on your map before you even open it up. I sprint around and try and open these up in the areas I want to explore first. Just do it without many runes in your inventory in case you happen across something that is going to one-shot you. The horse really is a cheat in many ways. It makes running through enemies so easy.
