I remember before I bought this, a reviewer said it would take 100 hours to 100% the game. Well, I'm at 100 hours, and even though I have a **** load of grace points all over the damn place, there's still a lot more to explore and I have 4 more main boss's to go. I am level 125.Last edited by eNforcer; Mar 8, 2022, 09:15 PM.

On a sidenote, i never really understood people who felt the need to rush through everything, i mean, they're ruining their own game, right? Well, whatever.

Regarding the loss of runes on death... seems like when you pick up your runes you loose some every time. So if you chain-die, your pool keeps getting smaller and smaller.
Regarding the question of whether Int/Faith boost incantations and sorceries, have read two articles stating that they do. It's probably negligible bumps like increasing a a point of Str or Dex on a weapon, but sounds like you can get a little more oomph out of it.
Man, I need to advance the storyline and figure out how to respec. My build is all over the place as I keep changing my mind on how I want things to go down.
On the positive side, I'm having a somewhat easier run of bosses now, so it's not quite as daunting and will make it easier to acquire items, etc.Last edited by koralis; Mar 9, 2022, 06:53 AM.A hobbiest foundry and forge in progress, plans, suppliers, showcasing ideas

As for Int/Faith boosting incantation and sorcery damage, I think its probably better to seek out better glintstone staffs and sacred seals since I know their quality can effect how potent spells are. Same idea as upgrading weapons over leveling STR/DEX. Seems to be a better bet to just focus on upgrading your weapons.
As for respeccing, wont spoil the location exactly but will just say head north from Stormveil castle and follow the yellow grace arrows that lead towards a marsh area. That's the path that will get you to respec ability.

And about 100%'ing this game, I think its insane to consider it. At the start I did explore as much as I could in the starting areas but now seeing how huge the world is its just not practical. Also a lot of that exploring was just about learning how the game works.
I'm now just following the path of the graces and going off the beaten path a little bit here and there to grab some goodies where they are obvious, or when I feel like I want to gain some runes for leveling.
Also of course when I hit an area that seems too tough at the moment, I will venture in a different direction to find an easier path. So far so good with that though. At my current level and weapons I feel pretty good about the area I'm in.

So I found a relatively easy to get to place to get 100k runes and 5 dragon hearts.
Go to Fort Faroth in Caelid. You can get there from pretty early in the game if you go to the Third Church of Marika in the Mistwoods, there's a teleporter against the cliff to the north, and then when you get teleported, ride south a while until you get to Fort Faroth.
Then, go find the leg of the giant dragon and just wail on him a while until he dies. I don't know if this ****s up any questlines later. But hey, free Runes and dragon hearts!"I'll admit it. I did try and **** her, she was married."
"I moved on her like a bitch. I couldn't get there and she was married."
"I don't even wait. And when you're a star they let you do it. You can do anything."
"Grab them by the pussy."

The Giant Bombcast was talking about this game last week and how modern "open world" games put markers everywhere which actually removes the player's will to look around randomly because things only exist where markers exist. I think I agree. I almost 100%'d Horizon Zero Dawn except for the hunter lodge quests, and I basically just ran from icon to icon. In Elden Ring, I'm really seeing the whole world. Looking in corners, jumping around and on top of things to see what exists. It's such a rewarding experience to just explore.
I'm certain completing this game will be well over 100 hours for me. I'm just approaching 60 hours and I think I'm about level 73. Only two main bosses down (not counting Margit), but so many other bosses dead and at least three I can't even come close to defeating yet. Like an MMO for me. All other games have been put in the background while I play this forever.

Well, I just fought a reskinned version of an old boss fight from waaaay back in the dark souls 1 days. It was actually a bit of fun because fromsoft tossed something unexpected in there, but I got it first try, and because I know I’m in the endgame I peeked at a list and I have (pretty sure) 2 main story bosses left to go.
I think enforcer is at the same location - these guys hit like trucks, and then back up and run you over again
I think I’m going to look for spoilers just to make sure there’s no point of no return I might pass. I want to go back and clean stuff up.

There's also a nice lady that I helped, that I found something that I'm assuming you have to give to her, but because the world is massive, I have no idea where I'm going to find her next or if I'm going to advance the world state at some point and kill the chain. I have quest items and know who needs them, but no idea when I'm going to see those people again.
Lady in question is the one you save from the Scarlet Rot. I found her a nice prosthetic arm in a castle. (I'm assuming it's for her cause it the logic fits.) Just don't know where I'll ever see her again. Also, just remembered the lady I gave the "grapes" to. Don't know where and when I'll see her again as I have more.
On another note. Was getting pissed at the stupid poison fields that the twin gargoyles spew because they are so hard to see and do a ton of damage. Ugh, I had never fought one properly, let alone two. Also sucked that I had a slash weapon, then I remembered I picked up a weapon art that turns whatever your using into a club and switched to that. Crag something or another. Went from doing meh damage to reasonable damage.
Also, on the Starscourge bit, I never used Rotten Breath on him. Heck, I don't even have it. I have like 5 hearts, but the one dude was all "OOOooOOOooo beware communing with dragons lest you become one!" and I noped off from using any of my hearts. Probably doesn't actually do anything bad and just scary Darksouls wordslore. Basically I ran around like a mad man summoning things and doing a drive by slashing every once in a while. I mainly concerned myself with summoning and not dying.“On a lonely planet spinning its way toward damnation amid

Fact is once you learn to appreciate how From Soft respects the player in this regard, it becomes really REALLY hard to play other games that don't.
