Decided to take one of those gargoyle keys back to that door I passed when I first started the game, in the First Step grace area. Not gonna lie, this might be some of the hardest **** I've seen so far in this game."I'll admit it. I did try and **** her, she was married."

I'm not yet ready to call it IMO their best game ever, but if bigger means better then its definitely better.
The more I play though, I am starting to feel like they may have sacrificed a bit of quality in favor of quantity this time around. I am at 20 hours logged, but still have not really ventured much outside the starting area of the game.
There is sooo much to do, the environment is densely packed with content. Definitely not a baron landscape like Breath of the Wild felt at times. But, most of the bosses I've faced so far have been lackluster. Most have been sort of mini bosses though, which seem to be scattered all over. I think I've maybe found 10 side bosses, and 2 bosses that are more on the main path, and honestly none of them have been very impressive to me yet.
I'm not really complaining though. To me this game is all about the world, and FS have definitely crafted an awesome world to play around in. Not bored at all and wish I had more time to play. I could lock myself away for days playing this.

Still wandering. Found a way around the castle. I thought people were just bsing that you could bypass it. Finished up the Peninsula I think. Lord, I should have done that a lot earlier. Lot of decent items down there. Now I wanna up my Dex so I can use the Nightrider Flail. Also found some summons that take more FP than I have. So that's something. Kinda curious just how OP they are.
Managed to snag the other half of the Great Lift medallion sorta accidentally. Was running around the scary scarlet rot place and just happened on the grace right in front of where it is. Item description mentions where the other half is. Like 8 deaths later cause those bats don't **** around I managed to get it. Did get a couple levels from all my attempts to get it. So not all bad.
There's two areas I want to get to, but I think I'm gonna have to wait on. There's an island off the coast of Stormveil that looks nifty and the area on top of the Albino town cave.
Think things are winding down and aside from some optional bosses I'm ready to move on to the next area. Still think I'm a little low level for Cilead or whatever the Scarlet Rot joint is. Now I'm just debating if I want to take the lift, then the way around, or the way around then the lift since I have both options open to me right now.

I’ve got my path forward for the main story, but (level 66) I either need to respec or level more.
I’ve found 2 bosses that looked at me and sat down laughing hysterically, so I took that as a sign.
They made great use of the verticality here. General rule of thumb now is, if I can see actual terrain down there, then there’s something down there. Which is how I found the path forward, because dang man, just navigating later maps is more challenging tHan some of the bosses.
So, I have a pocket full of upgrade materials up to +6 and a less than quality build…maybe time to choose a more optimized build.
I found some really cool armor too, but 1 set with the massive resistances and dmg reduction is too heavy, the other looks badass but has super low protection.
Oh, and screw you fromsoft - re-using bosses is fine, but zero runes for killing them? Why? And then they respawnedwhy??
EDIT: Really amazing spirit summons back at the starting areaThe Very start btw, beginning of the game type start….

If you don't mind DLing a widescreen fix app and making a txt. file then starting from a different exe (found in your game folder) you can remove those black bars. Of course, I'm sure you know but don't want to lose the multiplayer aspect. Which we do when enabling widescreen fix.

Man, they got me again. Picked up the Map on the Mountain and watched as the whole thing zoomed out yet again. Allllmost thought it was slowing down.I mean, I still have like 3 zones I've barely touched and one of the rivers I've discovered. Just did a lot of running around.
At this point I'd like to bump up Dex for that flail or Faith, but it looks like I'm gonna be putting more into Vitality just so I can take a few more hits. IBloodflame Blade. Just wish it lasted a little longer, it's my go to Incantation.
Wanting a new armor set as I'm still rocking the Flame Monk. Also, barely any has dropped since I picked that up. Get more weapons than armor.“On a lonely planet spinning its way toward damnation amid

yeah about that map….I thought I was making progress, killed multiple bosses, got 2 or 3 keys, went hither and yon and arrived at the entrance to where I had been sweating and fighting to get to and I …… need another key ….
So I spent some time zooming in and I think I have missed and entire map somehow….maybe 2.
I thought I might get to the final boss by Sunday lol. Deluded old hairball….This game is just MASSive. Ridiculously massive
EDIT I’m caving…I am legit stuck. Every time I think I’ve found a path to the next main boss, it isn’t. If I can’t find it by Sunday I’m going to google it. I mean, I’m finding lost graces and good items…I just can’t figure out if I’m even on a path to the next main boss or not lol.Last edited by Lazy8s; Mar 4, 2022, 04:16 AM.

Even at 20 hours in I'm still not completely sure what weapon I want to use, or what to focus my build on.
I have been using the Lordsworn's Greatsword so far. But the game seems to imply, at least early on, that bleed build up is a good thing to use. So I have a few different weapon options with bleed as a passive effect that I am considering switching to.
I got the meteoric ore blade, but that requires STR, DEX and a lot of INT. I also got the Bloodhound's fang which also has about the same bleed buildup but only requires STR and DEX. So it kind of comes down to if I really like the moveset of the meteoric ore blade better. If it had a thrust move instead of an overhead downward slash I might go with it. But I think the range of the Bloodhound fang beats it out.
I also have a sweet morning star that does blood loss. Its fast, but really lacks the range that I like. Just can't decide!

I just picked up the bloodborne pizzacutter tooHaven’t tried it yet though.
Right now I’m maintaining a slash weapon, a blunt because some enemies are just too tough to deal without it (Morningstar) and my meteoric staff for sorceries.
I’m around level 68 now, and just can’t decide what to fully throw in with. The options are all crazy attractive.
Edit: I did run into the first truly wtf boss - screams for an optimized build because I have no idea how I’m going to beat this thing yet.

I do want to be a sort of battle mage as well, dabbling a bit with sorcery just for fun. So I'll probably level up my INT just enough to use the meteoric ore blade (18). Since I also need to level DEX for it I will likely be at a point where I'll be able to have several weapons to choose from, including quality type weapons.
As for my progress, I have started into Weeping Peninsula but I still want to completely explore Limgrave. I have a few areas of Stormhill still to explore, and still haven't fought the dragon. I think I'm ready to give it a try though, right after my next level up so I don't have to worry about losing runes. Can't believe 20 hours in and really still only in the starting area of the game.

Bleed is best for me right now because it lets me do more damage with a lower leveled weapon, and pump points into INT.
It’s armor I’m torn over mostly. The best set I’ve found is heavy, but the damage reduction across the board is top notch.
Then again, I can respec numerous times, so there’s room for trial and error
EDIT: Still using the starter vagabond set.

Anyways, about that big guy you mentioned.
I think that fight was intended to be a summon-an-army fight. There's just SO many summon signs throughout his arena. I think he's a warlord, and you're sort of supposed to bring an army to defeat the warlord. Of course, you can opt not to, and just dodge those nuclear missiles he sends across the map. But just the sheer volume of summons suggests to me that you're really supposed to bring all your friends for that fight."I'll admit it. I did try and **** her, she was married."

Anyone manage to beat the Crucible Knight in the Stormhill Evergaol yet?
Dang, that is one strong mofo. I've done pretty much everything else in Limgrave, including the Dragon, but this guy just hands me my ass. The only way I can possibly beat him right now is with parrying, and I nearly got him down to half health, but he's definitely giving me the sign to come back later when I'm worthy. He feels like the Havel the Rock of this game lol.

After that I had to use regular attack since I had no fp, but his health bar was basically empty by then.

I spent a few minutes doing a respec around the Sword of night and flame.
Elden Ring Sword of Night and Flame Guide: Where to find Sword of Night and Flame, how to use it, best weapons, tips and tricks for this material
The sword is just crazy. Melee, it’s a decent sword, skill wise, it’s pretty wicked, and because it’s an INT/FTH split build, I have access to more spells and incantations.
Time to explore and level, see what it can do.
