I loved the Batman games and love the Bat Family in general, but I don't get what they are trying to do with this one. They are losing me with the "magic" **** and making the characters similar even though they should be very different. I have a feeling this one is going to bomb.

Im guessing you only know batman from the movies then? Batman is full of magic. Half his villains are magic. He himself has used magic for certain jobs. Half his "friends" are magic users.

I've read (and still do read) many of the comics. I know magic is part of the DC universe; I'm just saying that while it's kind of interesting that Tim Drake is using the Justice League's teleporter (it's within his character as he's super smart), I think it's dumb in this instance as each character has magical traversal skills. If it was a Robin or Red Robin solo game, that would be neat. It stands out even more with Red Hood, though. Jason is not a magic user and has never had super powers, yet he seems to have some sort of magic jump and weird powers. Red Hood is one of my comic favourites and I'm disappointed everytime I see gameplay with him.

Anyway, I just think it looks weird/bad. If they really wanted magic users they should have cast Zatanna, Dr. Fate and Raven instead of the bat family.

That's what I'm assuming too: give them all something to make them different while keeping them the same. And that's what worries me about the game. Instead of focusing on one main character and their abilities, it's four who have to be the same but different. Might water the whole experience down.

oh yeah, we agree there. A 4 player co-op arkham game would be awesome, but they ****ed that up by making it only 2 player despite 4 characters, and then on top, its 3 robins and batgirl. (im all four the story ad characters)

I love the idea of the game. The way they went about it sucks.

The magic is the worst part of the DC universe. I'm not actually sure which came first, but the whole expanded Justice League arc seems like a thinly veiled attempt at countering The Avengers.

Too much micro-management in the animations. Want to punch a guy? - should be to simply launch in his direction and punch - simple - in this game you do a 10 step lambada dance (with a few ballet twirls for good measure) in between your current location and the bad guy. Then punch. Weird.

That's why this game looks bad. It's suffering from its 4-player co-op requirements. Nightwing, Red Hood, Batgirl and Robin all have nearly identical move sets. They are physical combatants aided by gadgets. In co-op each player being identical is kind of boring and doesn't add, so they've had to invent things to make them each different and unique. They should have tried to get access to different DC characters instead of inventing things for the bat family.
