Rage 2 and Inside were given for free and also Control was given away for free at one time. I also got Pillars of the Earth because I like the epic novel the game is based on.

If one takes games they know they like and will play then it's a good way to get games. Just don't take games because they are free.

But the Steam Defence Force will attack anything that is a competition to their beloved faceless Corporation.

I couldn't care less about Steam, but the massive amount of problems with the EGS launcher is beyond my comprehension. If it wasn't for free games the amount of users they'd have using the store (because let's be honest, all the Fortnite dummies are just there for Fortnite) would be very small.

I've been using EGS lately for Metro Exodus: EE, and I've been troubleshooting some strangeness in the game .. in the middle of doing that, I'm wondering why my 10900K is running at full voltage instead of downclocking -- turns out the stupid launcher is eating up a **** ton of CPU cycles .. for no reason. It's just sitting there on the library page. Why in gods name is that? Launch the Steam Launcher, Battle.net, Ubisoft launcher .. none of them do that. All 3 of them together eat less CPU cycles than this garbage application.

EGS isn't competition to Steam until they actually make it a functional platform. All it is, right now, is a shitty launcher with a myriad of issues, with a store that a large majority of people only use because of "omg free games!" But yeah, sure .. "competition" ..

This is also besides the point that I was just joking with Mega+Nascar about the Launcher giving them issues, but you felt the need to come to Epic's defense. The same company that threw PC gamers to the dumpster and threw away Unreal Tournament, then went and made a ton of money on consoles, and now all of a sudden they care about us again.

Steam Attack Force? Steam are no angels toward PC gamers or publishers either and they have near monopolistic tendencies that they hardly ever use to benefit PC gamers except when they throw the odd bone with their sales.

Funny the problems you are having(what ''myriad of issues''?) but Hitman 3 is smooth as butter with NO issues on EPIC for me and many other games play fine. What is a **** ton of cycles in a real world measurement? Does it make your games unplayable? Did you report it to EPIC? Is it tanking your frame rate?

I don't play Fortnite and never did or will but now all Fortnite players are dummies? It's the generalizations I have a problem with like ''****ty games on EPIC or Fortnite dummies''. Are there not a ton of crap games on Steam as well? Or are the Fortnite dummies exclusively on EPIC games store and don't use Steam as well?

The launcher eating CPU cycles and being a nuisance is a widely known issue. And yes, all Fortnite players are dummies.. which, btw, is not on Steam.. because it's an Epic title..

Metro runs fine except for an issue plaguing a lot of other people that seems to only be fixable by slamming the CPU with a lot more voltage than it needs. That's not Epics problem, but while I was troubleshooting that, is when I noticed the CPU cycles it's eating and that my voltage was not going into low power C-states. For anyone that leaves their launchers open that is a big deal because you're drawing more power at idle. Instead of normal 5-8w idle, it had my chip at it's full 1.3v idle 40w consumption. There's no excuse or reason for that besides garbage programming. I'm sorry that makes me steam defense force despite it being brought to Epic's attention a long time ago.

Yes, the hotfix that clearly did not solve the issue for everyone .. as I obviously have the launcher updated. You can find others who are still seeing oddities with this garbage launcher.

Exactly. I use the web page to get my free games, only start the shitty client to play games.

Launching games eg with Chivalry 2, I can close EG launcher right after I start the game, while the splash screen is still showing.

Most UBI games also can be run through Uconnect rather than starting it up on EGS.

Most SP games do flop. Also they might be gearing up to hook a larger audience base to generate interest in Plague 2 which is coming soon (don’t remember the date). It is also pretty late in its life cycle as an SP game.

The first Rebel Galaxy is badass and unique (a rare commodity), really wish they made more games like that.

The second one is pretty good too, though not as good as the first.

Indeed and its not an issue for people to have differing tastes, makes the world a better place.

Anyways, reinstalled and got further than I did before as its one of those 'in the background' type ones (similar in my eyes to Hellblade) where I dont need to focus too much on it thus not get too bored or frustrated so my opinion is changing slightly.

Final verdict: The automatic level difficulty changes when you fail is a good addition so you don't get too stuck but still challenging but slightly less, very long drawn and last act I just wanted over but overall not as annoying as Hellblade, would not play again but glad I finished.
