      lol, that's expensive.

The All in One package for PS4 is dirt cheap right now. Like 30 for the physical, 20-25 for the digital.

Strange but good. Had you played Limbo previously? If not, you might want to check it out too.

if he had played Limbo before, he wouldn't find Inside strange, would be my guess.

Drift is good. Rage 2 should have been better. Good core shooter but so much padding between story missions and many of the upgrades were a waste of time. It's an old arguement but it was another game where I felt that a lot of things were bolted on simply so they could hit the marketing checklists and get there playtime up on "How long to beat". And no John Goodman either.

Its also got a quite a few bugs. Playing it now, and while im enjoying it, its a fairly b grade game. Probs on par with the Mad Max game, though i wont know which i enjoyed more till i finish rage 2.

Rage2 was a lot of fun, but it had a MAJOR game breaking bug near the end where one of the end game missions wouldn't proc...and there was nothing you could do to make it proc, so the game just stopped. You could still roam the map, but couldn't do anything else or proceed. I have no idea if they finally fixed it or not but it was infuriating to make all that progress to only be stopped by a bug.

Didn’t come across that bug and was able to finish Rage 2. Game had potential but ended up being just OK.

I wanted to bump the Rage 2 thread to say this but since you gays are all sprinkling the Epic Games thread with Rage 2 talk I'll post it here instead. Also I have an unjust infraction for bumping an old thread.

The beginning opening scenes are absolutely fantastic. The whole "Ranger Guy is the best Ranger there ever was." *gets ripped apart by Rancor* "Hey I'll just put on his suit and keep the torch moving."

It reminded me of Metalocalypse, where their spiked cube spaceship came down on a waiting metal audience, crushing many, and then the sides of the cube dropped down to reveal the band, additionally murdering thousands more fans, and in response, the survivors raised their fists and cheered.

Don't forget to pick up your free copy of Surviving Mars if you didn't get it last time it was free.

Next game: The Fall. Interesting looking 2D game that might be similar to Another Word/Out of this World but can't tell for sure.

I remember enjoying The Fall. It was indeed similar to those old games like Out of this World where you had to explore and solve problems to progress. Definitely worth a playthrough.

Guys I almost missed my next game I'm not going to play.

Creature in the Well is still free until tomorrow at 11AM PST.

After that, Tales of the Neon Sea which I got from Humble Monthly. That reminds me I need to cancel that before it renews in May.

If you get Hitman 3 starter edition, which is free, if you own any of the other Hitman's from Steam/Epic, you can play through those Hitman 1/2 content with in the Hitman 3 starter.

Also, if you own Hitman 1 on Epic, which was given away for free last year, you can get Hitman 1 GOTY Edition Access pass for Hitman 3 for free, currently it says it is $15, but at check out it goes to $0, and you can play through that Hitman 1 GOTY edition stuff on Hitman 3 game.

They're fighting for a share in a market worth about $40 billion. The question is not about how much money they lost, it's how much of the market have they gained.

Games are generally cheaper on Epic than on STEAM.

Athe end of the day though its the titles I'm after that really make the difference. So often there hasn't actually been much choice. EA titles weren't available anywhere else for a long time while Ubisoft still needs the Ubi client regardless of where you bought them.

Most of that money is to overcome player inertia... If a player always buys on Steam, and new services comes up offering the same thing, they'll shun the new thing... there's no reason to change even if the service was superior. Inertia.

Epic is getting players to install its product, and check back regularly. They're conditioning players to accept them as an option. At some point, all the freebies will go away (or become junkier like Prime, or older less sold things) and they'll have a storefront that can make money.

Sure, they need to make sure the storefront is friendly, yada yada, but frankly that's secondary to overcoming player routine. I'm sure they're working on updates as well.

Hell, the Epic vs Apple lawsuit might REALLY be about forcing Apple to give up its monopoly status and allowing other services to sell and install iPhone apps. (and it just so happens that Epic has such a store and would be happy to provide that competition.)

Why would you put GOG's client at the bottom with EA? It allows for customer reviews, has forums for each game, and the client has achievements, screenshot functionality, community/friends activity feed, etc?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with GOG's implementation. A small user base is its only downfall.
I guess I just don’t use it as it doesn’t feel like there’s much reason to shop on it. Heck, I really wanted to buy Cyberpunk on GOG but it was cheaper elsewhere. I also don’t care about achievements and google generally points to the steam forums several times before any others.

EGS is easy to shop on, keeps game’s updated and is probably the quickest and easiest to launch a game on. It also does a good job with the friends list. I also like that it closes down completely when I close it.

The loss leader strategy has been around for decades now, this is nothing new. Hell the original xbox used loss leader tactics to gain marketshare 20 years ago, losing money on each sale, more than a billion dollars lost just to get some foothold in the market.
