Fidelity wise DL2 is looking really good. But I was just not a fan of the gameplay in DL1 so not really hyped for this one. The weapon management was just a lame ass chore IMO and it got boring real fast. I did get a bit of extra life out of it playing in co-op which was more fun, but overall the game was kind of a let down. Story and characters were not all that interesting either.

I'll keep an eye on DL2 to see if it looks any better but its definitely not an upcoming release I really care about.

I really enjoyed the first and the expansion, it was major improvement of the prior Dead Island series.

Hopefully DL2 captures the same kind of feeling.

I tried the first game but just couldn't get into it. All my weapons constantly breaking or becoming useless after 5 swings then you have to repair them got old really quick in a game like dying light. I'm sure the second one will be more of the same.

EDIT: Just realized I posted the exact same thing two years ago. At least my feelings on the game are consistent!

I probably said the same thing 2 years ago too. Which is, by the end of the game, you can basically just use the same weapon permanently. It's just a bit of survival crafting for the first part.

They are nVidia sponsored... also not a first nVidia sponsored title to do this. Where the RayTracing is nVidia only at launch and it opens up later.

Only two reasons I can see why that would be...

- nVidia is paying for timed exclusivity without disclosing it.
- The RayTracing is coded by nVidia and the DXR path isn't ready yet.

But that's just me speculating a bit. Hopefully it's patched in quickly

They clarified it today:

20 hours for main campaign

80 hours for main and ALL side quests

500 for all main, side, alternate endings, total map reveal, collectibles etc

I suspect game length will be around 40-50 for most, based on this.
