    Steam and Early Access

Is there ANY way I can get Steam Store to NOT list early access titles in the Featured and Recommended section?

I simply don't care about EA, never liked EA, and am annoyed by EA titles so I already disabled them from appearing in my Discovery queue. But why am I still offered them in Featured and Recommended?

Yup, you need to click preferences after that. It takes steam a bit of time before changes take effect

And if you hit the "Start another queue" button on the main page I find that those blocked games will eventually show up. Nothing like burning through 50+ VR games when you don't have a VR system.

But overall it works well enough.

Not that it works at least for the tag filtering.

            I've filtered out the

Horror, Visual Novel and Simulations tags and what do you know all 3 still show up on the front page of Steam :\

The whole "early access" concept is flawed if you ask me. Pay almost full price for an incomplete game? That's not guaranteed to be finished? Why should the burden of development be pushed to the consumer before the game is even made? If then a better concept is Kickstarter, get your funding goals at once and make the game. "Early Access" is basically buy my game now that I may or may not feel like completing. Perfect example is Bionite, a game I was actually looking forward to.

I agree, look at ARK, they still haven't released and even put out a DLC before the game is even done.

On top of that, a huge backlog of Steam games.

Never played ARK. Mainly because of the mixed reviews it got. I have played Subnautica and The Forest and think both of these EA games were totally worth the price I paid. Bought them on sale and put at least 40 hours into each. Subnautica was fun because everyday they moved the game forward and the world was expanding as time went on. It had it moments when things were broken. But there were easy workarounds and it's been a lot more stable recently. The Forest was close enough to being done to play through as a full game. I think in this game the developers really were done and seemed to just be tweaking things. It seemed like they spent a lot of their time on making the AI more ferocious over time. Sometimes it seemed like the developers were actually the cannibals you were trying to defend against. You built up some great defenses and then one day after a patch the cannibals random decide to change tactics on you. Bastards. But this did keep the game fresh.

It seems like a lot of the EA hate comes from a few titles. So maybe not all the hate should be directed to this approach to developing games in general.

Seriously? I've never supported early access and won't, but dlc??

Have you tried scrolling down to "Discovery Queue Preferences" once within the preferences menu and filtering out what you dont want to see in your queue?
