Picked it up today from Gamersgate sale at $23.40.

Atmosphere is thick and scary as pea soup in a 14th century cemetery.

Yes you can lower the difficulty and it does exactly what you want, allow you to enjoy the game without bullet sponge enemies or dying over and over.

I think you can grab a key for like 20-40 bucks off any of the typical key selling sites, depending if you want the DLC or not.

I'd like to play it but mainly for the story and scares, I'm not interested in dying a bunch,, replaying sections over and over, and hate boss battles.

Edit: And wtf, why is this game still $60?!

Yes, I did like it a lot towards the end. Also, going all COD around the 4 hour mark helped. I think it took about 8 hours to finish (game counter) but more like add an hour for some re-starts that I did.

Good length game. Solid voice acting. Solid storyline. And with all its faults, the gunplay really was pretty OK for a survival horror. Also liked the new toys especially the remote bomb.

congrats on finishing kac, and that's not sarcasm. You stuck with it even though you found it a bit boring and ended up enjoying it.

I'm waiting til the VR version is out! Glad to hear it's decent. I played through all the RE6 campaigns recently: It's really not bad at all, as long as you regard it as a straight-up cover shooter, and not survival horror

So, I finished the game. Ending was very strong and going all badass towards the end really did favors for me. I loved the game and really appreciated that they explained everything in the end. I got the good ending too. All in all it was a 9/10 for me. I think I started to look past its faults and started enjoying it. I won't be buying the DLC though. Uninstalled.

    You'rethe reason RE was **** from 4 onwards .

It wouldn't be Resident Evil without the limited inventory, having to hunt for AMMO etc.

It's a survival horror, not Call of Duty Evil.

    No answer on DLC?
I am finding this game to be a bit boring now. It is almost I expect what is going to happen next and there is no tension. I just entered the party area and killed a vile spewing fatso. The whole game mechanics are boring and too clumsy. Inventory really takes me out of this game and constant hunt for items, crafting, saving slots etc. is making me bored of this game.

I will finish it though. Gotta add games to MNB's list of finished games .

Just a bit over half way. The back 1/3rd is much more CoD like.

So I am really pressed for ammo most of the time since I am COD-ing this game. Running around and kicking ass. I hate that my inventory is so small. How far am I? I just got back to the trailer and said I can't play anymore.

I have died a considerable amount in this game on normal difficulty which means the game is good.
Abouuut 1/3 of the way in, possibly half way in.

So I'm at the point where the

screen and movement freezes in a pitch black kids room and I hear a girls voice telling me to stay away.

So I did..... closed the game, went back to BF4.

The last 25% of the game reminded me of the last 25% of Outlast, it got away from the central horror and turned towards science fiction. In this game you really became a badass towards the end with the machine gun/remote bombs/grenade launcher.

I know the previous Resident Evil games were also action/evil corporation/science BS orientated but I thought this was returning back to the horror roots.

I wished they didn't try to explain everything in the end, just kept to the basics that made the first 75% of the game so effective. The child room areas was creepy as ****, walking around a ship with a machine gun wasn't (thought it was hard as hell).
Definitely agree, the last 1/3rd was nowhere near as strong as the start. The horror and pace they set early was very good and they should have tried to maintain it. I really enjoyed the stuff with Jack, Mia and Margureite in their house (and around). I feel like there are more stories there.

I don't mind the corporation bits at the end, that stuff is very much part of the series. Hell, quite a few of the games go crazy at the end. The story definitely set things up for us to really know more about what happened with Mia, so I'm glad they tied that up.

The ship really progressed the story forward, and it was little refreshing at first. But then you spend a lot of time throwing bombs or shooting hundreds of bullets. It lost a bit of sting.

Yep, there's been those before. There isn't as much amo though, so watch out for that.

That weird ghosting effect was due to HBAO. Switched to SSAO and it went away completely, and also a slight performance boost as well.

Gays and their videos/reviews spoiled the cop scene for me, so I knew it was coming and what was going to happen. That would have been a great scene to experience had there been no knowledge.

Just speaking of the garage scene is a spoiler in itself.

finished it finally, really good apart from a few little issues.

The pacing was pretty tight, especially in the first half. It had some good "boss" battles and action sequences. I was expecting a few more of the VHS tapes, but I guess there were enough. Got fairly action-intensive near the end.

Story was mostly interesting. Initially I thought I picked wrongly by selecting Mia, but it turned out to be the good ending. Still not sure what Zoe was though, since she gave you the watch and managed to sew the hand back on? So she's a doctor and knows a lot about the whole E virus etc? I suppose she may have stumbled on some information or learned about it from her family as they turned.

I thought it was a nice touch near the end to put you in a dream state with Jack sort of apologizing and saying how Eveline made him do bad things.

Anyway, solid effort by capcom 8/10
