Bought the game. Will be playing it after I beat The Last of Us Remastered today. Almost done with the game.

How do people play this game! Played about 5min's of the demo, only went into about 3 rooms. Decided maybe it wasn't a good idea just before bed time

It's funny you say that. Just last night while playing when I was walking across the bridge where all the creepy ass dolls are hanging from and I said to my wife, "This looks like House of 1000 Corpses."

Playing 5/10 mins on and off, the 'boss' type battles are just so frustrating finding what actually you need to kill them rather than expelling all your ammo just to find a fart in their general direction is needed to kill them...

Expect heavy framedrops at 4k with a 1080.

i think 4k would hurt. 2x resolution rendering drops my 1080 to 15 fps

Maxed settings, fxaa, 1.1 screen scaling, in the house seems to be 40-50fps avg 45'ish.

As long as it's around 45 fps average at 4k with no sacrifice in details, seems good to me. Wish it had SLI support.

I have 2X 980TI's. I probably won't buy this game if it doesn't support SLI. I game at 4K and I don't think a single card will handle it the way I want. Maybe I will buy this game for $5 down the road when I buy a couple 1080TI's. Oh well, devs want my money they better start putting the effort in.

If you pass on games because of no SLI support, you won't be playing many games.

This game is totally worth a play through. Drop the resolution, and play on a single card.

I never expect devs to develop around the mess of poor drivers from both AMD and Nvidia and their continuous breakage of SLI/xfire. Single card ftw. The game is worth more than $5 dude. One of the best launches I've played. In fact, I didn't have a single issue.

Sorry, but I have a brand new Sony Z9D 65 inch 4K TV and I am not going to play at 1080P or settle for 20-40FPS with a $1500 graphics setup. I will play the game when I have a single card that can play it at 4K properly or they add SLI like game developers have done for the past decade.

I have plenty of games to play so they will just have to take a loss if they don't want to support my hardware.

I am playing GTA 5, Dying Light the following, Hitman season 1, Baldur's Gate SOD and I have Tides of Numanara on pre-order.

I didn't buy Doom 4 because of it's lack of SLI. I may buy it now for bargain bin prices now that they have supported it properly.

Do you guys remember when Resident Evil 5 came out and ran flawlessly with SLI from day 1? Those were the good days when developers actually made quality products and people didn't settle for poor performance and crap support.

My first play through I did streaming to my Steamlink using an Xbone controller. I'm doing a second play through now on Madhouse difficulty at my PC using M/K. Both controls work great. I'd suggest using M&K if you're playing Madhouse. The extra aiming and control is much needed.

Yep, flatout silly comment. This is one of the best horror games of the decade and plays/looks/runs perfeclty on every system, you know, except for SLI.

In fact, I would say this game is better than RE4 and gives RE1-remake a run for its money.

What's with over 9GB of video memory usage ?

Not that I'm complaining but given the texture quality and overall visual quality of this game, VRAM usage seems very excessive.

I don't know. I found out I have to run the game on medium textures and I have two 3 gig 780's (3 gigs then).

If I try any higher textures then I get super long freezes...like over 30 seconds.

My 780's were the cards that I retired last month and bought a GTX 1080 Hybrid. The 3gb of VRAM was definitely becoming a big issue.

finally found the sweet spot on my 390X: 2560x1440 VSR with all on high and on, SMAA, HBAO+
the 8Gb VRAM probably help.

frankly I cannot tell the difference between high and very high while crapping in my pants.

This. I own an SLI 980 Ti and really it isn't needed and will not make a difference in my enjoyment of this game as I never felt FPS slowdowns. Hovering around 100 FPS @ 1440p and ofc everything maxed.

If I wanted to play at 1080P I would have spent $400 on a console instead of $5000 on a PC that has the power to play it but can't because of a lack of support for my hardware. The only single card that can play it at 4K is the 1080 and that isn't worth the upgrade for me since I have 2X 980TI's.

I hope you guys enjoy it and I am not trying to rain on anyone's parade. I may cool off on buying high end PC hardware though if this is the future of PC gaming. I don't feel like paying 3X the price of a console to play it at console quality levels on my PC.

You are just defending your 4k purchase. Prior to 4k games still existed and were really, really, good. 4k doesn't change that, it is only your perception. It doesn't make the game any worse running it at a slighter lower resolution.

You're right, I don't play at 4K simply because SLI and Crossfire support is pure **** and there still isn't a single 4K card solution yet. So it's 1440p for me.

Like I said before, If you're relying on SLI and that's what dictates your game purchases, then you're going to miss out on a lot of great titles.
