    Guild Wars 2, free to play for 1 week, 50% off sale

    Guild Wars 2 is free to play for 1 week starting today, ends on Oct 1. Plus a 50% sale on the game. If you have thought about playing this game, this is a good chance to give it a try and see if you like it. They did create a new player experience to help out with learning about the different systems with in the game.

    Personally I really enjoy the game, and highly recommend it, also it is not pay to win.

      Its funny. This is one of those games I bought even though it wasn't on Steam because I really wanted it. I got more than my moneys worth out of it and then stopped playing for a while. Recently I went to go back in to check out a major update and realized I had 2-factor authentication set up using an app I had on my old cell phone. I couldn't even remember my old username so the only way to remove the authentication was to email my authentication key that came with the game to the company to prove I owned the game. Luckily I kept the CD case (yes it actually came with one!) but could not find the card that had the key on it. At that point I so wished it was a Steam game!

      Luckily I found the card tucked away in a hint guide I bought and was able to get back into the game. It still is a lot of fun and worth a free week if not the entire purchase at 50% off.

        Pretty much the only game I've been playing for the past two years. Highly recommend trying out if you haven't already


        @Nytehawk. I've done that quite a few times changing roms on my phone and they are usually forgiving if you fill in all info other than the cd key

          ^ I played it when it first came out -- it was good, but I preferred the first one more. Did anything change since then?

            Lots has changed, but who knows if it's enough to bing you back.

            Fractals are pretty good if you like dungeons - a series of randomly chosen mini-dungeons that scale in difficulty as you repeat them. There's piles of expensive skins and a new tier of gear quality to grind out if you were missing endgame incentives. There's a few new areas, world bosses, and just recently an ongoing extension to personal story, if you want more of that content. Aside from that tons of quality of life changes, but nothing truly earth-shattering. It's certainly no closer to gw1 style gameplay in any respect.

              Probably too late for me to get such a deal since I've been playing it on and off for almost two years. L51 Mesmer, too lazy to get to 80. But I check LA every now and then to see what they've torn down or rebuilt.
