After playing and screenshotting T:V, I've been taking more screenshots in games with the intent to post them in this thread. I feel like a part of me was just reborn.
FWIW I'm not having frame rate issues. The low FPS screenshot I posted was from when I was running the game on an X800 Pro POS.
Below: 198X. A second game in a row that I've played where the protagonist is a lesbian taking non-human identities. More review to come in the "Games Completed August 2020" thread when created.
Sized down to 1280 because they look better scaled down.
Not proud of my numbers, but holy **** did this take determination to finish. Last arena-style level was nuts. I can see why this DLC got so many negative reviews.
Looks like Shodan from System Shock, what game is that?
EDIT: derp I need to learn to read, I see you mentioned 198x and those screens are all from the same game. The multigame/genre thing really threw me for a loop
Not trying to flood the thread with screenshots of the same game. I've narrowed it down to seven of the 150 or so I've taken so far as I play through this a 2nd time.
I'm really appreciating the style of the graphics; painted, high contrast, colorful.
^ Witcher 2 looks good.
Goes on sale for $1 in my region, keep skipping it because I'm not sure I'll be able to enjoy it after Witcher 3.
Those Doom shots are on lowest settings? I am surprised because other than some lighting flaws, they look great.
For Witcher stuff, the two are tightly related in lore, but very different games. W2 is clunky and seems to be testing "open world" waters with "go anywhere" but limiting where you can go by chapter, and lack of fast travel. Combat is more strategic, but I'm playing on easy, and in this case it's button mashing. The biggest thing is you can't just drink a health potion in battle and improve your health when you're losing. You have to drink a regen potion before a battle, and it lasts for X amount of time. Other potions apply with different stats, but toxicity is your limiter for how many potions you can drink.
I'm reminded of the pitfalls of the original release, when plants and books counted against your inventory weight and you had no "safe space" for storage, and how wonderful it was when they released patches that unrealistically fixed these gameplay thornsInTheSide. There was a plethora of other issues as well. They've remedied it, and I expect similar behavior with Cyberpunk.
I like the pacing of W2 better than W3, but W3 was far superior. As I've said, it's the best game I've ever played. W2 is definitely worth playing. CD Projekt Red has consistency in fully fleshing out side quests and making everything you're doing seem consequential. The decisions you make in the main quests significantly matter.
Anyway, here's some screencaps of F.E.A.R.
Multiplayer powered by GameSpy! At least LAN is supported.
This scene gave me goosebumps (again). Fantastic.
Seriously - who in the actual **** would place a dumpster here? There's no way for a truck to get in at this angle.
It's Bullet-Time, looking drunk.
I remember the first time I saw these types of effects in this game. I couldn't believe that my PC was creating it. Totally amazed.
Never rappel down from a chopper into enemy fire. Amateurs.
Check out my Blender render.
I forgot about these creepy invisible guys. No sound, melee attacks only (thank jeebus). Come at you from any direction.
They kept the design of the game simple, and that put a lot of people off (including me). Replaying it today, I think the simple design has aged very well. Take a moment to appreciate this basic hallway. Ignore our friend to the left.
Up close, the textures are not great. But from here, I thought this looked photorealistic.
I timed the screenshot at the same time her camera flashed. Backshadow++
That belt buckle is hilarious.
The last time I saw an elevator looking like this, I saw from above it looked like...

"VIAGRA FALLS, slowly I turned, and step by step, inch by inch, I walked up to him, I smashed him, I hit him, I bonked him, I bopped him, I socked him and I mashed his face and I knocked him down."
FXAA in this game does a damn good job, but man it is blurry. Radeon imaging sharpening does a great job compensating for that, but the games built in screen caps don't capture it. I probably should have used the drivers screen cap feature instead of the games. Also wish I could push the LOD out abit, as it's kinda obvious where it swapping in lower blurrier textures on buildings when you take a moment to stare.
Tried turning off AA...
nope! way to distracting.
*Super late Edit*
The 32:9 aspect ratio here is achieved by setting the game to Windowed Mode. Then letting the game choose an incorrect resolution, Refresh Rate (Despite the in game setting it will obey whatever the desktop is set to), auto Aspect-ratio and using a program called "Borderless Gaming". See the link here for it's Github. It's not perfect, but it works out pretty great

It's a pretty cool era to be running around in to top it off. I catch my self fairly often physically running/walking down streets instead of fast travelling. Just because it can be really cool to sink into the environment a bit.

Yea, I still need a better CPU/GPU because those are all DLSS = Balanced. But, the game can still look very impressive. Much better than anything else I play. Especially when the game is in motion.
