I seriously couldn't play something with a graphic like that. But more prop's for you, Craw
My golden days of video gaming was spent playing Iron Soldier on the Jaguar, Battlemorph on the Jaguar CD, and Starfighter on the 3DO (though, the textures in Starfighter were more detailed than 3089 lolz). Those were some of my favorite games, so I like the "art" style of this game.
I like that it gets more difficult as you explore outwards from your starting "base", and the loot drops are linearly proportional to the difficulty, and the "experience" you get from completing quests increases as well... you can play at your own pace. Well worth the $3 or so I spent on it during the Steam sale.
Don't get me wrong, i wasn't trying to bash on the game which you obviously enjoy a lot. It's just that i can't stand that kind of graphic, it's like trying to play Final Fantasy (PSone) on a 43" TV.
I also grew up with VC20, C=64 and such. I still remember most of the games, but sometimes memory is the best place for them if you know what i mean.

I know you weren't trying to bash.
I can go back and play my favorite games with no issues with the graphics... the things that bother me are some of the things that are streamlined in today's games are clunky in yesterday's games. Inventory management, control customization, lack of analog movement... things like that.

^ I looked at that new Carmageddon game. Looks like my type of game (I never played the older ones). Will have to keep an eye on it...

Surprisingly enough I'm not enjoying the splat pack as much as I thought I would. The maps belong in some kind of Mario universe and not in Carma. And unless the difficulty has been changed with splat pack in the early ranks, opponent cars no longer try to kill you; they always drive away to continue the lap
