    Where did I say that?

What I said was that I could get very large combos in AC and could not do it in Origins.

The combat in-game is easy, and it's even easy to get all the challenge gold medals.

    I 100%d AC twice.

I'm guessing your idea of a long combo and mine are very very different. I could play the infinite penguin combat challenge DLC in AC for about an hour straight without dropping a shot.

I can go about one minute in Origins and oops, Batman punches the air through no fault of my own.

They ****ed up the minutia of the stealth game as well.

    Seriously, Akham Asylumn is a 9/10, City a 10/10 and Origins is a 6.

If you can't see how much they screwed up Origins, you didn't master the previous games. That's fine, and you can still enjoy them on a surface level. But seriously, if you didn't think they seriously screwed up the mechanics of Origins, I know I would be 100% accurate when say you got nowhere near getting a challenge map high score on AC.

I'm not saying I don't believe you, just that I haven't noticed it yet. I only just started actually playing the campaign in this one.

I spent a good amount of time with the challenge mode in the first game, but not AC. I just wanted to know specifically what people were claiming the problem was in this one, because I hadn't noticed any problems yet.

This. Except maybe I would give Origins a 7. It isn't as solid as the first two. Which are crystal polished, while Origins is like coal, useful but dirty

I played a bit more of the game since then and the combat still seems competent enough to me.

But I think I can see now what Codmate is talking about. I noticed a few times where I turned the camera to hit another enemy to keep a combo going and Batman did not fly over to him, just "punched the air." I tried for a while to figure out if there is something that causes it and I think it MAY have to do with needing to point the camera close enough to the direction of the enemy to keep the combo going... where as in previous games the camera direction was extremely forgiving. Actually, camera angle didn't matter at all!

If this is true, then it would appear they tweaked the combat to make it more challenging. I really don't have a problem with this as the combat in the first two games was piss easy. BUT, only if Origins is actually consistent in the way it behaves. Need to play more before I am convinced.

So I started playing this a few days ago. I remember playing City for about 4hrs then I got busy and never got back to it and lost my save lol. Rather than restart, I decided I will play Origins first. So far it seems like a repeat of asylum, 4hrs of city. So what's all the beef about? Game looks fantastic btw.

                Bleh,

I can see that the combat is more difficult.. You can mash up more and can't mash the attack button all day lol

Some say its more difficult, but some just say its more glitchy. I am unsure personally.

It would seem they tweaked the combat so you need to be more precise with aiming your next hit in a combo string, as opposed to in the previous games when you could just sit there all day clicking attack and counter buttons without worrying about aiming your direction. But veterans of the series like Codmate think its just bad design. You decide.

Still not a deal breaker. Just an annoyance at best. Arkham series are just he definitive Batman games.

Blah, very annoyed right now. I am on the Bane boss fight and the game just keep ****ing crashing.

It has had sporadic crashing all throughout my play through but now its crashing every 10 minutes or so. I think its DX11, so I am adding the -d3d9 to the Steam launch options. Hopefully that does the trick.

I was going to suggest checkng out the official forums as there was a lot of discussion of the numerous bugs at the time and there may have been a solution there. Unfortunately they seem to have folded the forums under Arkham Knight and the Origins support one seems to have gone.

Well like I mentioned, I added the -d3d9 to the Steam launch options to circumvent DX11 and it seemed to have helped.

I was crashing every time I'd attempt the Bane boss fight and after doing that it didn't crash and I got past him, plus I played for another 30 minutes or so no problem. Hopefully that was it.

Other than the sporadic crashes, the game has been OK. No game breaking bugs. I have also gotten use to the slightly different combat of Origins, and I have concluded its not bad at all like some suggest. I regularly get high free flow combos easily without a glitch, so it works fine IMO. Though I agree it does certainly feel slightly different from the previous games.

Sounds like a driver issue, I played through the entirety of Origins with dx11 enabled a couple of months ago.

I'm up to date on everything, so maybe its a compatibility issue with newer drivers.

I don't really care though. At first glance I can't notice any significant difference when running the game in DX9.

Finished the main story. I have to say I feel silly for waiting so long to get around to playing this game. Its pretty much just as good as Arkham City, and a nice prequel to Asylum.

I did have the crashing issue, but that fix I used seemed to help. I only got one more CTD after disabling DX11. Other than that I didn't run into any of the supposed game breaking bugs or weird glitches people were talking about. So either they were all fixed, or I just missed them. Good game.

They did fix the majority of bugs, they were actually very good at engaging with gamers on this one. Now if only they'd realise it's better to release games in a decent state in the first place.

Reminds me why I usually only play games months after release. Pay less for them that way too.

Anyways I liked the game so much I decided to put a couple more hours into it last night and find every Enigma collectible. I must be crazy.
