whoa, I started Isle of the Mist at level 25, was level 25 the whole time I did it. When I completed Isle of the Mist and got back to Kaer Morhen I was immediately leveled to level 28, was not expecting that.Originally posted by David O. I'm now level 15 and really starting to notice there is absolutely no point doing side quests I am over leveled for, aside from just enjoying the little stories and/or bits of action that come with them. But most are kind of boring, IMO.
Getting 1 xp as the only reward from a quest that took over 20 minutes is an utter waste of my time. I understand why the game was designed this way, but I can't help thinking they could have handled it better. Maybe group all the low level low xp side quests to the early areas of the game?

This is the 3rd time I've continued after taking a long break, and this time I should play it through to the end.
I've given up on exploration and am simply sticking to main quests, that's now my current strategy for finishing the more massive 100+ hour games. I'll play through the main story line, then decide after beating it if I want to commit anymore time to side stuff.

I just prefer to play games as close as possible to the original vision. IMO, if a game needs to be heavily modded then it's a bad game.Never put off tomorrow what you can put off today!

Been working my way through the quest to find Whoresone Junior and dare I say it the combat is starting to grow on me.
This quest puts you into a lot of situations fighting against groups of human enemies in close quarters and I have developed some well working fighting styles that are pretty enjoyable, although still a bit too easy especially since I now have the enhanced griffin swords.
I've also been using the crossbow a lot which works kind of like the gun in Bloodborne just to quickly stun enemies when they get too close.
I'm still not a fan of controlling Ciri though. I generally always want to rush through her parts to get back to Geralt.

This isn't my first time at the rodeo, I've played all the Witcher games.

Funny that, because in my playthrough on standard difficulty I practically used no potions or decoctions
I found the game too easy, I killed Eredin in like, two minutes - I had him trapped in the corner of the ship and I used that constant fast attack with the pirouettes and whatnot for massive damage.
I think I leveled up igni almost to the max, and Quen a bit, but used very little other signs. I did however try to create the strongest mutagens for the bonuses.
Just interesting how everybody plays the game different.

I wouldn't lock into one sign or two signs, try them all. Aard and Axii are fun to use too. Did you know you can use Aard to deflect arrows? it too is overpowered against humans. It is not a fair fight at all as you become almost invincible. Axii is fun too. But at higher levels you can just stay back and watch a group of nekkers kill each other. Good thing HOS boss battles made most of your signs useless.

Aard is great for crow control, 360 degree explosion, then execute while the weaker ones are down. Yrden secondary is great for one on one strong enemy. I used Igni in the beginning, but it got boring fast as it just burns through everything and everyone, makes things too easy. And Geralt just stands there with his arm stretched out, not my kind of fighting style.
I played the first 1/3 of the game on blood and bone, then turn it up to death march on the last 2/3 as it got too easy. It's more fun when the fight involves signs, potions, and special attacks.

I use yrden mostly too, and have been upgrading that and quen.
The combat is definitely a bit too easy I think. I only ever use potions and signs out of sheer boredom, rather than necessity. I pretty much can handle any fight with sword attacks and dodging...playing on blood and broken bones.

Does anyone know approximately how many more hours I have for the main quest? Currently doing all major plot stuff in the big Novigrad city, and already unlocked Skellige but not kaer morhen yet. 50 hours logged in game.

If you only doing main plot from this point on, my guess is around 25-30 hours more?

I just completed my game. 156 Hours total to get it complete. I am very much happy with my ending.
My ending:
Ciri is a Witcher
Temeria is restored
Nilfgard wins the war
Ravodid is dead
Cerys rules Skellige and is a great Queen for her people
Geralt lives happily ever after with Yennefer

I have been noticing it crashes mostly on Skellige, but not always. Wondering if the game needs a reinstall. Its been the same install since release day, and with all the patches wondering if something is screwy now. Never installed any mods though.
