Only other nit I have with this game is how windy it constantly is. Any mod out there to calm the winds down a bit?
Other than that, this is my favorite Witcher game so far. The graphics are beautiful and very smooth when maxxed at 1080p. I'm not a big fan of motion blur, though, so I turned that off.Let him not vow to walk in the dark, who has not seen the nightfall.

Yeah, I know, all CRPGs are like this. It's just a nitpick for an overall great game so far.I guess it's the trend nowdays with games; either you are a hardcore PC GAME, or you live long enough to see yourself become a console port

BTW, has anyone tried the NG+ DLC? Is it worth another go around?

Also, after a cutscene, three or four times there was a cupboard that couldn't figure out where it was supposed to be anchored to and was flopping around like a fish, silently.

A few bugs here and there don't even come close to blemishing this beauty. I recently tried the NG+ and restarted from the beginning. The one thing I noticed when starting over is how much the performance has improved from launch day. It was a little choppy on my system back then and it is so much smoother now.

Just started this, got it for $18 seems pretty good so far. Thinking of only doing enough side quests to level up so i can do the main quests. Wish i could do main quests only. Open world rpg's with too much stuff, typically means i get bored before i can finish, so any more I try and stick to the main quests as much as possible. Is that doable with this game?

The game is so damn big and daunting to tackle. The main problem for me is when traveling to locations I keep finding new ? marks and things to fight or explore in the world along the way, and it sucks up all my gaming time. I need to really focus on main quests or else I'll never finish it. Also, pretty sure you can continue and clean up side quests after finishing the main quest.
Try hard to stick to the mission at hand without being side-tracked, and an essential tip is as your quest list fills up just do the ones that are at or near your level.

They built her character just enough to make you want more, but didn't quite flesh out her story arc as full as it could have been imo.
I would have been quite happy with her having 35% of the game.

I think the Ciri controlled parts are boring as shite.
She is way over powered (I know she's supposed to be) and it essentially turns into a pure action game when controlling her. I just speed through the Ciri sections as fast as possible.
But I will say she's a bit easier on the eyes than Geralt, however.

I think I am going to move my difficulty level back to normal. I have been playing death march for a while and I don't like the additional health management required. I still rarely die, but it requires more micromanagement of my vitality and less focus on combat. I like my battles to flow more without interruption for Quen shield or delays while swallow works. It's more fun to focus on dodging, parrying, and signs. (Call me lazy)

This is one area where I think Witcher 2 was better. The greater the difficulty, the more skilled the opponent was. That method sounded great. But it was a bit messed up in Witcher 2 because the difference between normal and hard was ridiculous at times. They went from being a defenseless sack of potatoes to ninja warrior. I found myself adjusting difficulty far too often. I like this approach but it seems pretty hard to create a good implementation.
