When you release modding tools that are comparable to what people have released while programming them on their free time and call it awesome, you're setting people for a massive letdown.:: We are all the sum of our tears.

Took me 130 hours but I finally finished the game. Overall I consider it a masterpiece. It still has a few glitches here and there. But the overall love the developers put into every square inch of this game is amazing. I was constantly blown away that in such a large open world you could find uniqueness almost everywhere you go. Random ponds with fog, rocky, snow covered cliffs, unique trees and forests per region, wild animals roaming and acting natural, beautiful sky and weather effects, towns alive with busy people going about daily life, ... There were dozens upon dozens of interesting quests and contracts. Even after 130 hours I couldn't do it all. I am sad that it is over. My main gripe was that it was too easy to over-level and make the game too easy. But, I am sure that design was for players who prefer to rush through the game and finish it. If you like to do everything, the game becomes too easy fairly quickly. I turned the difficulty up but it still wasn't much of a challenge. Both Ciri and Geralt easily dominated during the end game. Can't wait for more content!

I don't think they really were that big. I guess the patches only changes what needed to be changed when you install it. I guess when you quit playing after 1.02, and you download the 1.07 patch, the patch will be that big.Demons run when a good man goes to war,Night will fall and drown in sun

My idea on the reason for why certain people just can't get into the Witcher games is simply because they are RPGs but ones that you are locked into playing a set character, Geralt.
Of course this is integral to the story of these games, but I feel lots of people who don't really like these games might like them more if they could create their own playable character.

Been witching all night. Failed my first quest but was too late to go back. There were some drunks that I had to take care in Novigrad but I went on completing an existing quest and got a quest failed notification. Didn't want to roll back to about 30 minutes earlier when I received the quest..
As you can imagine my OCD is running rampant.

I think Triss is a better character than Yen so I am Ok telling Yen to **** off.
I am also facing another problem. I have over levelled so much so fast that I have so many quests left that are only giving me like 1-5 experience points. At level 17 doing a level 11 quest really gives you a finger when you complete it.
So for now, I am doing everything that is under level 17 just so that I don't have any failed etc quests anymore. I am even tempted to reload the save and avoid the failed quest. Will also give me an option not to bang Triss.

I'm still waiting on the mod to play as Uma.
Also, I liked Yen. To me her dialogue with Geralt was usually some fun verbal jousting, nothing serious. Triss seems too infatuated with you, like a school girl chasing her teacher, with Yen I feel like I'm dealing with my equal. Let's not forget that Yen literally died trying to save Geralt after the pitchfork incident.Last edited by Brainstew; Aug 18, 2015, 04:45 AM.Let him not vow to walk in the dark, who has not seen the nightfall.

I am still fairly early on in the game (lvl 12) but I can tell it intends for you to pay attention to the suggested levels for each quest. I regularly have a few quests available at or around my level, and lots of quests that are way above my level. I simply focus on the quests around my level. Haven't run into any leveling issues so far.

But @ Higgy10, I agree its not the ideal way you'd want to do quests in an RPG. I hate any kind of level scaling with quests, treasure, etc. Unfortunately I think its just a fact of life in the game development world, as it becomes far more difficult to balance the gameplay without some sort of level scaling. I think Elder Scrolls Oblivion was the first game I experienced this in, and I pretty much rage quit when I realized and never completed it.

Got side-tracked from doing any questing now that mods are rolling out. There are now mods to remove the annoying screen effects I disliked in the game - dirty lens effect, rain drops on the screen, and the low health effect. I am using a mod that allows you to toggle the HUD completely with a single button which allows you to admire the scenery a lot better. Hopefully the first person camera mod while exploring gets the bugs worked out in the next version.
Going to get some questing down over the weekend with some of the free time I will have.

Recently picked this game up and I'm really enjoying it. Only question I have is: why does Geralt start off at level 1 with 0 xp or skills? At least Witcher 1 had the "amnesia" excuse.
Yeah, I know, all CRPGs are like this. It's just a nitpick for an overall great game so far.“The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.” – Abraham Lincoln

Only other nit I have with this game is how windy it constantly is. Any mod out there to calm the winds down a bit?
Other than that, this is my favorite Witcher game so far. The graphics are beautiful and very smooth when maxxed at 1080p. I'm not a big fan of motion blur, though, so I turned that off.“The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.” – Abraham Lincoln
