If you play without subtitles, I recommend trying to remember to turn them on before talking to any trolls and then turn them off afterward...I couldn't understand a word any of them said.
I play with subtitles off too, this would make a good mod.. Subtitles for trolls only

on the world map - other than novigrad, velen, royal palace, white orchard, kaer morhen, and the skellige isles what are the small unmarked landmarks scattered about?
I cant wait for people to finish speaking, I read too fast, they speak 2-3 works and Ive read two lines of text...so skipped most dialogues but Ive read them all =)

That's one of the reasons I never leave subtitles on, it's impossible to not read what the person will say before they say it. Leaving it off and letting the character speak feels way more natural and rewarding, not to mention the facial animations in this game are great.

Good tip. I turned them off now and it feels way more natural. Plus, I don't have the urge to rush through the conversation any more.

Yep, you are 100% right. I started batman with subs off...gonna try playing everything with them off from now on!
Been witching all night. Man this game is the dope. Reached level 14.75 on PS4 and level 5 on PC.
Glad you're enjoying it!
For me this has been GOTY so far. Lets see what the phantom pain brings.

I am trying to do everything. I go to Novigrad. I go to the swamps. I go to Velen for fist fights. Problem is on PS4 the loading can take some time which annoys me and the frame rate is terrible but I am so deep in it. So during the day I punch through the game on my putter and during the night I punch through on PS4. It is ****ing insane and I have never done anything like this with ANY GAME EVER. This is a first lol.
I hope you're at least taking advantage of different dialogue options that way.

Jim Lahey: ...****-quake.
You'd be surprised... I'm concerned that my quest for Ciri might be in danger since apparently someone was unpleased with the help I gave them earlier in the game...
Now Playing: Joe Dever's: Lone Wolf (NS) Final Fantasy World (PS4P)
According to GOG Galaxy, 117h, 33m. I have about a dozen scavenger hunt missions and seven secondary quests to complete... Mostly horse race related. Then there's "Collect Em All"... which I'm sure there's one Merchant somewhere in some random location that has the card I need but I'll never find it.
Somehow I managed to get an ending I'm happy with. My coworker said he didn't know how the series could continue after this one. Apparently he didn't do a lot of what I did, because there is ample room for a sequel based on what I saw.
I'm going to be away from my gaming PC for about 24 days this month, just before a 2nd bag of human with my likeness enters the world. I'm very happy that I was able to finish the main quest before the IRL shenanigans began.

They already stated that this was the last of the series, they will make more witcher games, but no more geralt games.
As for the cards, it could be the very first bartender/innkeeper. In velen. Apparently he is missable.
Never put off tomorrow what you can put off today!
Anyone here successfully able to play Witcher 3 on Windows 10 with a DS4 controller?
If so which SCP Server program are you using?
Don't use any. As of Patch v1.07 they added native support for the DS4 controller. So using any kind of emulation software will conflict with the game. But you should know that the icons are still Xbox icons regardless of the controller used.

No true, DS4Windows works fine for me. It still allows me more options than the default controls offer (Quick Save, Open Map, Inv, Character Screen) instantly rather then going through the menus.

It will work fine with DS4Windows in this game, but you have to enable the "Hide DS4" setting. If you don't the buttons wont work properly. For example I can't hold circle to un-mount from Roach, and the D-pad doesn't work correctly in the menus.
Word up dawg. That is why I ordered a second 980 ti.
I have a pair of 980 GTX cards and framerates are usually in the low 40 range. The lowest I have seen is lower 30s and I never see any stuttering. This is with everything set to Ultra and Hairworks enabled. I would think you would not get below 40 with two of those cards.
I never really bothered with multi-monitor setups but I found it neat that I could keep my Asus VG278H as the primary display but force this game and GTA5 to display 2, the Samsung, to play the games on. It sits a couple feet away to the right of me and I have been playing both of the games using my 360 controller. I am still trying to figure out how exactly I want to lay out my setup.
Well reached level 16 while doing many contracts and side quests. Still on trail of Dildo loins.
On PC trying to kill that wild hunt wraith so about level 5 or 6.
The way I play it is if I have a main quest with recommended lvl 15 then I try to do all the side quests and contracts with a recommended level below that. I repeated that strategy throughout the game and it kept the quests fairly balanced in difficulty on hard. If you do every side quest before beating the main story there's no way you won't be at least slightly over leveled though. As long as you do all of the character specific side quests before finishing the game you should be fine to finish the rest after.

Patch 1.08 is here! Please check the list of changes below.
PERFORMANCE:
Overall improvements to performance, including some issues that may have been caused by 1.07.
UI:
Fixes an issue where part of the Kaer Morhen map would not display properly.
GAMEPLAY:
Fixes a rare issue where items would disappear from the stash.
Fixes a very rare issue which would cause Geralt to get stuck when trying to run.
The interaction pop-up will no longer appear on lootable objects that are empty.
Fixes an occasional glitch in one of the dwarf combat animations.
Heads chopped off during finishers will no longer disappear.
"Players can perform a roll just before landing to significantly reduce the damage caused by falling. We've added a tutorial pop-up window explaining this to make it clearer."
In patch 1.07, the level requirements for certain items were scaled up, leaving some players stuck with only unusable gear. With patch 1.08, we are introducing the Wolven Hour potion. This potion will be available in everyone's inventory once they install the patch. It will reduce level requirements on all gear for a period of one hour. This will give players time to level up or find alternative equipment using the gear that was available to them in patch 1.05 but became unusable after patch 1.07. After one hour, the potion's effects will cease and the requirements for all gear will revert to their original, pre-potion values.
Fixes an issue where players were unable to compare their items with ones sold by merchants.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
Players will now be able to complete the Card Collector achievement.
Achievements are now working properly again and will be unlocked if players meet their requirements after installing this patch .
GRAPHICS:
Fixes an issue where interiors would sometimes not display properly on the minimap.
Fixes an issue where certain world elements would sometimes be missing and noticeable visual glitches would be present while in Novigrad.
QUEST:
Fixes an issue where players were unable to finish the "It Takes Three to Tango" quest, even though they had obtained wine at the Kingfisher.
Fixes an issue where Geralt would sometimes die after traveling to Velen in the quest "Something Ends, Something Begins."
The entrance to the area where the Sunstone is obtained will no longer be blocked off if the player exits it prematurely during "The Sunstone" quest.
Fixes an issue where players were unable to complete the "Get Junior" quest on certain occasions.
Fixes an issue where players were unable to finish the "Scavenger Hunt: Viper School Gear" quest due to a closed gate.
Fixes an issue where some players were unable to investigate rooms during the "Family Matters" quest, effectively blocking their progression.
Fixes an issue where players were unable to finish the "Hey, You Wanna Look at my Stuff?" quest.
Fixes an issue where players were unable to talk to Roche during the "An Eye for an Eye" quest.
Fixes an issue where Roche would stay at his camp instead of going to the Oxenfurt Bridge in the "Get Junior" quest.
Fixes an issue where, under certain circumstances, Yennefer would not appear in Oxenfurt during the "The Great Escape" quest.
Drowners will have a harder time killing Nidas during the "Black Pearl" quest.
Fixes an issue which led to an infinite loading screen during the "To Bait a Forktail..." quest under certain circumstances.
Fixes a rare issue where the basement was locked during the "King's Gambit" quest.
Fixes an issue where players were unable to free the merchant during the Person in Distress event in the Claywich area.
The trolls at the Circle of Elements will no longer attack Geralt if he opts for a peaceful resolution.
Fixes an issue where players were unable to talk to Roche during the "Brothers in Arms" quest.
Fixes an issue where Zoltan's card was unobtainable.
GENERAL:
Preparatory features paving the way for the introduction of New Game + in the future.
Anyone can recommend a strong AA solution that doesn't destroy performance? Probably going to start back up and want the game to not look like a jagged mess. Didn't bother me before when it was hooked to my TV but im back on my PC and man you can really tell now.

Another night where I tell myself "Just gonna play for about an hour, maybe get a couple Witcher contracts done." Of course I get sucked into additional side quests along the way and I end up playing for over 4 hours.
