Is this hard to get into if you're an RPG noob ?
The key things this game offers that Besthesda games don't:- Excellent narrative.
- A massive and highly memorable cast of characters.
- Decisions that matter.
The final thing I'll add is that the map absolutely blows any Besthesda game's map away imo.Let him not vow to walk in the dark, who has not seen the nightfall.

Well, I beat the game once already, so it's time to uninstall and move on. No more buggy messes for a while, no matter how pretty they are.

Ok.. I am getting very annoyed at AMD right now... What the heck is wrong with AMD's drivers?
Every other DX11 game I got runs. I even did a complete removal using Driver Cleaner(G3D)... re-installed the most recent driver package... It will work as long as I don't reboot after that. Once I reboot- It says I need DX11 compatible hardware.
It happens on all of my AMD hardware. Even installed the game on my HP laptop with the Kaveri APU. Won't run says it needs DX11. Re-install the drivers.. works till it reboots. So its gotta be AMD drivers problems. Running Windows 8.1 on the laptop, Windows 7 on the rig. (see specs)
Thats the error message...Be a pirate.

Goddammit why can't they let me pause cutscenes?
I just missed some really critical **** because my 2 year old is exclaiming "I PEEPEED DADDY" over and over again. The game doesn't even let me reload to a checkpoint during the scene so when I get back, I have a dialog choice that I have no idea what context it's in.
No problem, just make a choice, get back to the game, and reload, right?
Wrong. What ensues is an endless bashing of space bar and endless series of dialog choices that get me to a point where the farthest back Checkpoint save is about mid-way through the whole thing.
So now I have to reload, replay probably about 10 minutes of gameplay because these ****ers took it upon themselves to keep me from pausing during the cutscene for some unknown reason.

Is this your first child? Mine is 6 years old, and over the years I cannot think of a game that I played that allowed pausing cut scenes, and I know I had to replay many times because of my son. I know for sure Alt-F4 doesn't work... Need to CTRLALTDEL to kill the game during a cutscene... It's a practice I've avoided because if you did that with some games, they would start in "Safe Mode" the next time you started it up, with all your settings undone. Thankfully this game doesn't do that.

Nevermind Skellige...
There are quests that dont become active until after doing witcher contracts and even deeper still, i'm pretty sure i found one quest that not only didnt become active until after a contract, but i also had to listen to a npc conversation as well!Never put off tomorrow what you can put off today!

Can't wait for NG+ now with the 980 ti. Runs everything ultra @ 1440p and vsync with hairworks.
Replaying everything without rushing and skipping dialogues, without subtitles...should take 2 months lol!Having kids kills your gaming :(
