One of the best patches I've seen for a game in a long time. CDPR's are still showcasing that they give the best post release support of any developer on the planet. Their taking what was already one of the best games I've ever played and are making it better.
My favorites:
Much better movement controls.
Books have their own inventory tab.
It shows when you've read a book.
Alchemy ingredients are weightless.
Storage chest!!!!
On the world map you can now jump between your current location and the quest marker. This was something I really wanted, but didn't expect them to add.
Performance increase and no more stuttering.
This. With my rig game runs smoother. Not that it wasn't smooth before with my setup, but it's noticeably smoother now. CD project rocks! I just hope I don't get any more CTD!! I've been playing 4 hours now without a single one, so looks like they resolved that!

edit - had a strange thing happen. during the Forefathers' Eve quest-line i changed to another quest. when i returned to it the end-quest marker had moved to another location
Seems to be working for me. See the shots I posted in the screenshot thread (post 1.7 patch). They look the same as 1.6 to me.
Yeah, AA is working for me as well.

so is the new inventory stash unlimited? kind of far away from the nearest city that has one right now. since i don't use fast-travel, i need to work my way there eventually.
Monsters now spawn back in very quickly. I killed a level 30 werewolf, I was damaged so I meditated to heal. When I came out of meditation he spawned again right on top of me. I killed him 3 times in a row and looted him. It's a bit easy to farm monsters now if you have the level over them.
The stashes are nice. I got rid of all the swords and armor I've been hoarding.
Those mother phoquers also raised the level limit for the witcher gear sets. I was wondering why i couldn't equip my feline enhanced swords anymore, they now require level 23 to equip. Before it was level 19 (my current level).
Pretty dooshbag move for those like me who put in time and effort for those treasure hunt quests.
Well, the game seems to be running a little slower for me. Need to overclock my card to make up the difference now.
AA doesn't appear to be working either. Seeing aliasing now.
Other than that so far so good.
Game is very sensitive to overclocking, even minor ones, and has known to crash because of it. seems like the only overclocking it plays nice with is factory overclocks.

I never had isse with the game crashing and my cpu and gpu are over clocked.

Since the patch adds "NPCs load much faster" functionality, the Black Pearl quest is impossible to complete. For those that have finished it but don't remember, it's the one where you dive after a black pearl, opening oysters after oysters and then you have to make it back to the NPC (Nidas? something like that) to find him being attacked by drowners. You must kill the drowners before they kill him to progress. (I assume) With the new patch, this quest is impossible to complete. Even when I grabbed a boat to do the quest, to get to shore as soon as possible, Nidas was killed before I could even disembark. Hours were spent trying to do this "right", until I found a simple solution....
Load to a point before you talk to Nidas (or whatever his name is). Go grab the black pearl from the ocean. It's in the same spot as it was when you do the quest properly. Talk to Nidas. He walks you to the oyster bed. Drowners appear. Kill them. Give Nidas the pearl you collected many minutes ago.
So I loaded this puppy on PC and alternative movement feels better. The new options do nothing for me since I cranked everything back to highest details and it runs the same
Played for a bit last night with the new patch. The alternative movement feels slightly more responsive, and I mean SLIGHTLY. I don't know, I still had Geralt fumbling around a few times, but I guess its a bit better than before. Glad they at least did something to improve it.
wow game went from 45fps avg on my AW 17 R2 to 55fps!!!
When I loaded the game after installing 1.07 all my graphics settings were reset to default. Make sure you put them all back to how you had them and see how performance is. I am seeing no performance difference after putting my settings back.
In game AA seems to be working for me. I see the visual improvement, and it affects performance.
This game is way too big for me. I doubt I'll be able to finish it let alone have a 60% completion. I'm at like 40% and I'm already tired of playing it.
I was going to suggest the same, just focus on the main quests.
I think I decided last night I am just going to clean up the rest of my current secondary and contract quests that are ranked lvl 10 and under, then just focus on the main quests so to get through the damn game sometime this century. After that I can work on the rest of the side stuff over the next decade.
Game is really demanding using a 34" 3440*1440p monitor. With my 2560*1440p monitor i could play maxed out in borderless windows 60 fps locked almost everywhere but now i have to be in full screen to have that kind of performance. Does anyone know why do you get better performance in full screen vs windows mode?

In windowed mode the system has to run DWM (draw the desktop, start menu, etc.) which means additional overhead that takes away performance from your app. Also, often times in windowed mode the application may lose focus which can take away even more performance. In full screen mode the application has exclusivity that prevents both of these issues from occurring.
Praise be to the God and father of our lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
I play in borderless window to get triple buffering.
I finished the game like that using my 27" 1440p monitor but on this widescreen i get a lot of 45's fps that felt like 20's so i had to use fullscreen mode to get 60 fps.
