Why do you guys always pick on kac so much? seriously? Stop being arseholes.
I'm sorry
KAC, when you open the map just click on "world map" that will show you white orchard. Keep in mind that the game gets easier later so it's not essential to get all the places of power.
Level 34.
Every contract and secondary quest I could find finished.
A couple dozen ?'s left, mostly on Skellige.
150 Hours playtime so far.
I suspect I have a couple hours left at the most.
I'm still going at over 90hrs now, but I'm closing in on story end. Bit surprised how much content was after the point of no return. Most side quests were still doable as well and even did exploring after a few story missions. The slow burn on this game is unlike anything else. There is little doubt I will be playing the expansions.
Roach is so **** to control compared to the Batmobile though. He just stops for no reason.
Of you guys who've finished, who's going to be giving it a second play through?
I find myself not really feeling the need to play through it again. I don't think there's a huge enough difference in the main story lines to really affect that much change. There are a few key decisions, but for the most part the story except for some ending elements seems mostly the same.
A new, alternative (optional) movement response mode for Geralt.
A player stash for storing items, available in various locations throughout the game. Stash locations are marked on the player's map.
Crafting and alchemy components no longer add to the overall inventory weight.
Books are now placed in a dedicated tab in the Inventory and books that have already been read are properly grayed out.
Multiple sorting options are now available in the Inventory.
Alchemy formulas and crafting diagrams can be "pinned", meaning all components and ingredients required to make them will be conveniently marked in the Shop panel.
Dozens of fixes for quest related issues, both major and minor.
A few performance enhancements, including the optimization of FX, scenes and general gameplay.
Various improvements to horse behavior.
Curious about the alternative movement response mode. Overall seems like a great patch, hope its released soon.
Sweet. Now I can store all those mastercrafted witcher armor's I have. Push it out nao!

Nice. New patch might actually get me back into the game. Kinda gave up on it because of the BS movement and inventory system.
Same here but I actually gave up on it to install Win 10 and put it through its paces. Don't feel like reloading my apps over and over to get the games running again since the builds are coming fast and furious now!

And now the game is perfect.

My computer? I've put its specs in the box to the left. There are many people on the Rage3D forums. They're very proud of their computers.
I'm still waiting for an option that shows the inventory in list format so I don't have to hover over every mother****ing potion in the mother****ing pile of potions to find my goddamned ____________ potion that I know I have.

Otherwise, sweet game.
You mean like in Witcher 2 that so many PC Gamers complained about stating having a grid based inventory is the PC gaming way to do it? So what did CD Projekt do? They gave what the people wanted
But I agree, list system is much better than a grid system.

Gris system is fine when you have a dozen or two items in a single grid, like say Diablo or Path of Exile.
It could work for Witcher 3 if things were categorized better, like books, letters potions, oils, bombs, runestones, sigils, and concoctions were sorted properly and each given their own category.
As for letters, we need a checkmark or something to indicate whether a letter/book was read.
We also need a "recipe/diagram" already known when browsing a merchants inventory. I'm pretty sure I've wasted a fair amount of money buying the same recipes more than once
So I just started playing this, I've read the first two books, The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny, have a question about story for those of you who are familiar with them.
In the book, Ciris father is killed out at sea with her mother Pavetta so she is raised by Calanthe her grandmother. Now I come to find out in the game her father is alive and is the Emperor of the Nilfgaard. Was this revealed in one of the later books? If her father was alive this entire time, where was he when Ciri was growing up? (ie when Geralt finds her wandering the woods etc)

i don't think ciri is the blood daughter of the emperor, i think she was adopted when she was orphaned. It's why the emp doesnt give a crap about her in the game, he just needs her to be an heir.
Never put off tomorrow what you can put off today!

Not sure if this is correct given what I've read -- the Emperor is actually Duny, who married Pavetta.. I think this describes it well:
Emhyr var Emreis, Deithwen Addan yn Carn aep Morvudd (Nilfgaardian language: The White Flame Dancing on the Barrows of his Enemies), also known to a few under his alias as Duny, the Urcheon of Erlenwald (Polish: Jeż z Erlenwaldu) was Emperor of the Nilfgaardian Empire, Lord of Metinna, Ebbing, Gemmera, and Sovereign of Nazair and Vicovaro from 1257 until his death sometime in the late 13th century. He also became the King of Cintra after marrying a false Cirilla in 1268. His rule of Nilfgaard wa
So from what I can tell, he wasn't killed, only Pavetta was killed and Calanthe hid the fact from Ciri that her father was still alive.
I remember it was said the devs would release a graphics tweaking tool to max out everything. Did that ever come out?
Jim Lahey: You know whats at work here? Its **** tectonics. When two **** plates strike and come together under incredible pressure, what happens Bubbs?
Bubbles: What Mr Lahey?
Jim Lahey: ...****-quake.
reinstalled the game, and updated to 1.06.
is my twenty something hour save from 1.03 able to be used? how?
I copy pasted the files, but none can be seen.
Anyone know if this is possible, or if there is a tool?
Putting these items in google is not showing much that i can see...thanks
my graphics card is now a physx card ; my cpu is a quad toaster

I don't remember that being a complaint, but then there are a lot of things I don't remember these days...
I do however remember having the same beef with Morrowind's inventory system as W3's. I hope 1.07 makes it significantly better, even if it's not perfect.
I consider worst inventory system to be Dragon Age Inquisition, which gives you a list, but only displays about 6 items at a time, which is great when you have 50+ items in a given category. Oblivion was similar, but there were mods that made it soooo much better, so I don't count that.
I prefer grid based in most situations because I can quickly see whatever item I am looking for by its icon. W3 has a pretty distinct set of icons. Even the oils have different colors and also put in the same order. I think it needs more tabs though, not just books. They need tabs for runestones / glyphs, one for potions / oils. W3 could have a much bigger grid area for PC too. I know some prefer lists, so they should have that as well. I thought the list system in W2 was unpleasant to navigate. But it might have been better if you had more items on screen. When you have unique items, I think just having the name of the item is counter-productive because you have no idea what it looks like until you equip it.
In short, you can pry the grid / icon system from my cold dead hands!
So they are putting out patches on steam first now?
They should hang their heads in shame.
That's an update of our artpack (artbook, soundtrack, map, manual, wallpapers etc.). You can check them out by going to: Properties (from Library view)->Local files->Browse local files. Files are in main game folder.
