As for that witcher 3 article, its a bit late. Its exactly the same article that was published in multiple places in september of last year, with literally no new or different information. I guess they just wanted some cyberpunk views.

That's cool. I put off playing this game to get to other games in my backlog. Now I can just wait for the special edition.

Of course then, I'll probably need a video card upgrade to enjoy it to its fullest. So I'll have to wait even longer.

I'm not happy that I can't buy any new GPU for decent prices, so this new enhancement with ray tracing means nothing.

I bought a car with downpayment that costs less than RTX 3060Ti. I rather be happy buying car (I need new car anyway, old car is just uneconomical to maintain/repair) than buy GPU at scalper prices

Great! I must have close to 300 hours into that game on PC. I bought it for PS4 to play some more from my couch. But, the graphical downgrade on PS4 was a little too much to take. Better dust off that DVD. I am excited to see how much better the PS5 does with it.

We have decided to have our in-house development team conduct the remaining work on the next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. We are currently evaluating the scope of work to be done and thus have to postpone Q2 release until further notice. 1/2

Apparently the real reason is the remaster was being done by Sabers Russian developers and CDP no longer wanted Russians doing it. These are the same developers who did the Switch port.

Witcher 3 has been on my to-play list since it launched, and I still haven't installed it yet. I own it on Steam & xbox, so I've got plenty of options. At this point I may as well wait for the update, right?

I'm absolutely determined to playing this game before 2030.

That’s kind of why I’m not even interested in the remaster. After patches it was a solid, very enjoyable experience. A couple of mods, heck, even vanilla, it was/is a beautiful game.

Why are you guys saying its a remaster? As far as i've seen its just a ray tracing patch. They are adding a bunch of new graphics options, but not remastering anything. No new assets, or textures, etc.

The new version of The Witcher 3 is expected to feature ray tracing effects and faster loading times. While some rumors have suggested that the game will also bundle in all available DLC, this hasn’t been confirmed by CD Projekt Red yet.
The developer has also been working with community modder, Halk Hogan, to include the popular The Witcher 3 HD Reworked mod in the release – suggesting improved textures are likely.
Originally teased in September of 2020 by one of the developers, the enhanced version of The Witcher 3 will feature all the trappings of current-gen systems when it comes to 60fps and 4K resolution. The remasters are also expected to feature compatibility with the DualSense and new Xbox controller, such as haptic feedback.
