Geralt retired. Ciri could have a new story maybe.

While it could be epic, this might be one of those cases where you just let the series go with the love gamers have for it....

the devs stated very clearly that they want to make another big rpg in the witcher world, but it wont be soon, and it wont involve geralt. I personally hope they make it years later, and have you rebuild the witchers, but a ciri story would be cool too. Especially if they have us doing the thing ciri does in w3.

Witcher1 was much more of an RPG than 2 and 3 were, that's for sure.

So I just finished the main game for the second time. Got the bad ending first time, the good ending this time.

Eridin is a pussy and I'm starting Hearts of Stone tonight, first time. The game is just epic. I'm going to be heart broken when I complete it.

For heart and stone, completely ignore the black smith and the runecrafting part of it. The moeny you spend to do it is completely wasted and better used in blood and wine, also the moment you start blood and wine the whole blacksmith thing is completely pointless.

As for endings, there is no goode ending. only 1 bad ending, and two and a half neutral endings. One of the endings is heart warming and what i would consider the best ending, BUT its entirely subjective as its definitely not the best outcome for the game world.

LoL, took 4 solid tries. The win took almost 20 minutes. I really didn't expect that in a Witcher game. That would have been an excellent Souls boss.

I'm not sure how you mean that...

edit: Ok really not sure about that? He's a ghost. Do you mean the sword on his casket?

The ghost is Olgierd's dead brother. I was talking about Olgierd's sword. Just keep playing. You still need to finish all of Olgierd's story.

Or am I worried over nothing?

It goes extremely cheap in my region during a sale ($6 for the GOTY).

You can skip almost every single cutscene/dialog bit in the game. That said, whatever type of rpg you are a fan of, this is one of, if not the most amazing game ever released, imho of course.

It isn't perfect, but as a rabid Doom/Dark Souls type of gamer - this hits just about every button perfectly for me.

Or am I worried over nothing?

There are a WHOLE lot of dialog choices. Sometimes annoyingly too many. Sometimes amazingly many. Most every quest plays out different depending on dialog choices. So, yes, there is a lot of dialog with NPCs. But, that is what drives this game differently. It is not just a cut scene and then on to the main mission. You need to ponder what might happen depending on how you interact with NPCs. Kill them, negotiate, bribe, annoy, hypnotize, ignore, seduce, … There often are many choices to choose. Some choices seem benign until much later in the game when it is thrown back into your face. If that sounds annoying, I would stay away.

Play all of Act 2 before passing judgement of the game. Act 1 is like a long tutorial without much real content (Kaer Morhen is was just the Prologue). Many people get bored and stop playing early in Act 1, often frustrated by the game mechanics. But, Act 2 can contain some of the most complex and amazing storytelling in any game ever made. I played through it multiple times, and each time I discovered new clues that moved the story in different directions. Keep with it.

Long way to go....still an alien game to me that took a lot of my time to get familiar with.
