It aint perfect, but what an achievement.

Will replay it again after I get the two expansions, maybe later this year.
    Which one is perfect?

      Hi guys.

What are some of your recommended graphic enhancement mods for this game ?

      Comment

Uhm, none. Game looks spectacular, what are you really trying to enhance? Are there even any? This aint Elder Scrolls where its half finished and modders do the rest

No expansions? Definitely play heart of stone before finishing w3, it easily fits into the main game (though do it near the end, so you are near level 30), even though it's not part of the main story. You can leave blood and wine for now. It is excelent and if you enjoy w3 you MUST play blood and wine, BUT it's a great expansion to have a break from w3 and come back later with all new stuff to play with.

I thought the enhanced edition would have had some DLC so it looks like a no, I don't have DLC. I'm not finding it via the DLC link in steam either. Is it with the enhanced edition?

Looking at the DLC settings section of the launcher it only suggests I have some outfits.

                There is no enhanced edition.
There are 16 pieces of DLC that you should have.
                Got to this link
You are Geralt of Rivia, mercenary monster slayer. Before you stands a war-torn, monster-infested continent you can explore at will. Your current contract? Tracking down Ciri — the Child of Prophecy, a living weapon that can alter the shape of the world.

Look at the DLC link and make sure it says "in library" for each of the free DLC. If it doesn't perhaps you have to click on it and click on download on the next page.

Ah.. Shadowcult read it wrong. I'm on chapter 3 of the Witcher 2 assassins of kings enhanced edition... I do have W3 expansions. I will most definitely go through those.

                  Me confuse.

                      Witcher 2 is done.

Just passed the tutorial in W3, not really a fan with the controls, it'll take some getting use to now that I move straight from W2 to W3 but damn the game looks good even at 1080p. I has everything maxed out with grass tweaks bumped up a notch from the tweak guide, but not excessively, where vegetation is lost. Chromatic Aberration off, Vignette off. My 1080 is championing just nice with it all maxed out. Game looks good.

I'm tossing up between sharpening at low or high but I can't decide. I might bump it to DSR 1440. The 1080 still manages to handle it all.

I left sharpening at "Low". High seemed like too much for me at 1080p.

It does seem high to me too but in some screenshots it does clear up the blurriness on textures. I'll compare some more and decide.

Sharpness at hight is temporal aliasing mess. Setting it at low is recommended.

Under "gameplay", i think, there is an option that alters the "feel" of the controls, making them more direct. The option is called "movement response" - try setting it to alternative instead of standard. This should make Geralt respond to controls a tad more "direct" instead of that "floaty" feel.

If I change the grass and foliage range in the user settings file to be say, something higher... should I expect the grass density and foliage range options in the ingame menu to set themselves to Low?

I assume this is the games way of handling a value which is not attributed to a setting ingame so it just defaults to Low ?

The values in the file remain as the tweaked values.

How do I unlock achievements via GOG Galaxy? None have unlocked so far.

Just play the game? How else? If they havent unlocked, then you havent completed the requirements.

Also if you lose internet connection while playing, achievements wont register obviously.

Defeat an opponent in a fist fight without taking damage. Pretty sure I did this early in the game just outside the Inn. I'll try again as that one seems to be the easiest one to test

Reached Skellige (lvl 17) over the weekend. This game finally starts to grow on me and I find myself enjoying the game and appreciating care & attention to detail CDPR put into this game after almost 9 months of playing on & off.

Yeah this is good. I cleaned up all the main and side quests in the first area. Is it worth investigating all the question marks in the area? I assume I'll just end up gaining experiences points from this now and also prolonging the completion of the game which I may or may not want to do ?

Question marks can lead to some interesting outcomes but some are just boring as ****. I gave up on them.

This. Investigate when you find them, but turn them off on the map. You are definitely not supposed to examine them all, in a single game.

I aim to knock off each and every side quest in this so I'm happy to turn them off and make it more interesting but only if it will allow me to come back to them at any point, including after completion. I can simply switch it back on after spending some time running around before completion. IF so, I'll turn it off.

I see myself spending double the time now.. Not sure if I should or be

Are you suggesting some locations are tied in with like... DLC? And prematurely discovered locations will break immersion, story etc?

No, i mean that there are so many generic ones in the maps and so many in total that cdprojektred dont expect people go to them all. Only a few are interesting story stuff, and some are interesting fights, but the majority are simple loot, and not worth the bother. Hell, when you get to a certain map, 75% of them are just crates with random junk in them. Trust, turn them off and be pleasantly surprised when you stumble on them.

Yeah, dont concern yourself with min/maxing the skill tree, just take whatever seems cool. While there are "builds" and powerful ones at that, you cant really break your character, and as its a full rpg, you WILL out level things and that alone will be enough most of the time.
Other than that, just pay attention to the random things peasants say, as a lot of the world changing through your actions comes from gossip and bit of lore scattered around the world.

Oh and as kac said, hunt down the witcher armour if you are near it, the full sets are pretty cool, but keep in mind that while they will be better than half the other items in the game, they are not the best gear and you only need them for the cool factor, so there is no rush to get them early.

You can re-spec the character very easily later (and can do unlimited times afaik) - do not worry about min-maxing at all. Go with whatever skills you think sound cool and want to try.

I would recommend playing on the hardest difficulty. It gives a meaning to stocking up on food/health items. On e.g. normal, you can just meditate after each battle to regain full HP - so how well you do in a fight/encounter has no real consequence. And honestly on normal the game is too easy for gear/spells/oils etc to even matter...

For graphics maybe try a reshade if you are into that.

The Witcher 3 is a garbage skeleton game that's basically liberal progressive propaganda.

I was playing the game, and at first I was happy because it had a naked lady's butt as the first scene so I thought it was sticking it to teh skeletons, but then the facade began to evaparote and the game's true face came out.

The game has a pro-gay quest in it where you help a gay hunter.

EVERY FEMALE CHARACTER IN THE GAME IS BEAUTIFUL AND CAPABLE, while most of the male characters are ugly idiotic morons.

The whole Novigrad chapter is basically 'MUH REFUGEES, WAAAH, RACISM IS BAD! WAAH!' There's even a cutscene where Geralt talks about how society hates and scapegoats its weakest members when times are tough. Wow, anti-Trump propaganda much?

I also recently read that CDPR's next game is based on a book written by a black American man (way to diversity hire, cucks) rather than a BASED POLISH LEGEND. They're also going to let you play as a female character, which is historially incorrect because most law enforcement and soldiers are men so they're basically killing the immersion.

Honestly, I'm upset at myself that I almost enjoyed this game. Sometimes I wish I wasn't redpilled, but it's my curse and it's one that I must bear.

If any of what I've said has resonated with you, I encourage all gamers and non-skeletons to come to us at r/kotakuinaction. We deal with the most important issues facing gamers and are the front-line in the battle against skeletons. If you're a conservative white male who's tired of facing constant persecution and hatred, we're a place where you can come and talk about vidya without being judged.
