Not really, but if you have the time why not. They are good games. Witcher 1 is best played from isometric view, like it was intended. Especially during combat, which is a mess with 3rd person in my opinion.[Good Old Games]- No DRM or Copy Protection

Witcher 2 is worth playing. Very good game. As for the first one I gave up on it after experiencing the combat in the first hour.Jim Lahey: You know whats at work here? Its **** tectonics. When two **** plates strike and come together under incredible pressure, what happens Bubbs?

Naw, I gave the first game an honest try and couldn't get into it. Mainly due to how horrible the combat felt.Jim Lahey: You know whats at work here? Its **** tectonics. When two **** plates strike and come together under incredible pressure, what happens Bubbs?

You don't need to play 1 or 2 to enjoy 3, it's not necessary at all. I really enjoyed the first one (esp loved how some of the quests intertwined), but this was way back when it came out, I wouldn't recommend it to just anyone in this day and age because the bar has raised for the amount of jankiness most gamers will put up with.[Proc: Ryzen 9 7900x][GPU: MSI RTX3060Ti 8GB][Mem: 64GB G.Skill RipJaws 6000-DDR5][Mobo: MSI Pro X670-P][HD: Samsung 2TB NVMe 980 Pro][PSU: EVGA SuperNova 850W G2][Audio: Yamaha RX-V673 7.2/JBL 7.2 Surround]

I knew about the witcher series before picking up witcher3 but had only ever played a short demo of either the 1st or 2nd one. Having not played the first two I still really enjoyed playing witcher 3 and was not lost in the latest story line. Sure you realize that certain characters have a history, which you could google I guess along the way, but that didn't ruin the game for me. Sure having played the first two may have made it more enjoyable but I found it to be a great game on its own anyway.

I just couldn't get into Witcher 1 Geralt looks like a midevil hippy sexual predator and the combat was too much for me to understand. I like the dumbed down version in Witcher 2 and 3 a lot better. Especially Witcher 3 where you can just dodge roll out of the way like a boss.,____,

Currently 70 hours into the game, and went to the island areas. Im playing the game on medium details with limited bells and whistles, and i am still amazed at how gorgeous it is.
And its not the technical aspects, but in terms of how the world is built, the geography, composition and design of the places. How the terrain is utilized, the way things are layered around the world. The way the weather is presented, how light is used, its just top notch work.
Literally I can point the camera at any direction and im always met with an amazing view. Not a single time has the game failed to impress me, in terms of visuals. And the game has a terrific sense of place, instead of just some fantasy world.
The islands remind me a bit of Skyrim, but by comparison Skyrim is like a kid's drawing next to Witcher 3's Rembrand.[Good Old Games]- No DRM or Copy Protection

I still don't think the combat controls are perfect, but they feel much more adequate now after that patch and getting used to it than they did at first.

Yes movement and controls are probably the worst things about the game. I see what they tried to do, add momentum and what not, but in a game like this i need instant and precise control, especially when trying to loot.[Good Old Games]- No DRM or Copy Protection

Should have had more ladies available for ploughing. I only did it with triss and yennefer, but there were several quests where the lady obviously wanted to be ploughed but the game did not le tme pursue anything and left me with some virtual blue balls.[Good Old Games]- No DRM or Copy Protection

Finished Witcher 3, at almost 80 hours. Great game. Its also really massive, since there are tons of quests and stuff to do still. The amount of effort put into making this game must have been enormous, so well done to CDPR.
It aint perfect, but what an achievement.
Will replay it again after I get the two expansions, maybe later this year.[Good Old Games]- No DRM or Copy Protection
