I wish B&W was as polished as the main game is now. I noticed it felt far more buggy than the main game.

What's your build? How far back is the latest save you can go grab a respec potion?

The last boss was definitely more challenging than most other enemies in the game, and fairly unique. But isn't that what most people want out of a final boss?

What kind of Geralt build are we talking about here, and what level are you? You should be around level 34 or so. I don't remember seeing anything about it that would make it overly difficult for particular builds.

I never dodge rolled the whole game. Not even sure how to using a controller. I switched to KB mouse and it was much easier. This was my main issue. I used quen, dodge, and block for most every other battle. Had griffin mastercrafted armor. Wasn't the best specs for this fight.

That sounds pretty similar to my build. Just stick with it man, you'll get it.

the fight was pretty easy but really unique which was cool.

Its crazy to think one would go through the entire game without using rolling. There are many situations that call for side stepping and also situations for dodge rolling.

I believe on the Xbox mapped controls it was the X button to roll, and circle button to side step.

What can I say! Just finished Blood & Wine (good ending) and concluded Geralt's adventure! It is like parting with a friend who has been around for so long and saying good bye, never to see him again but knowing he is gonna be alright...

If I was told that no more games are being made, I will be content because I have played the very best there is. Knowing that I won't experience Geralt's journey; his voice, gestures, dialogue, interactions...etc does leave some emptiness in me that I will get over in a day. Yet still, what fictional character can do such a thing to a person?

The game itself is a masterpiece. The worst parts of it are far good and the greatest parts of it are just beyond any other game. It is a collective effort from every front that delivers such an experience that other games fail to deliver, or any other media for that matter. Maybe it is the setting, the theme, the music, the visuals, the story or more... whatever it is, I will always hold this experience as one of my greatest gaming experiences...

Truly a masterpiece that anyone looking to experience a deep and mature adventure, should play.

That fourth wall break at the end, followed by a visit from a loved one! Just an epic conclusion!

I very rarely rolled, I mean I can probably count on 1 hand the times I rolled in my 220 hours played. For the most part I just didn't find it very efficient to use.

Gays, I was rolling like I was on ice.
Game was dope. I think I may actually replay on the putter now.

Just to try something different, I played the expansion with a controller. If you suck at camera control using controller, like I do, rolling can be very disorienting. Otherwise the game is fine using a controller. Allows you to play in a more relaxed sitting position and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

If I were a betting man, I bet we have not seen the last of Geralt as a playable character. The IP is just too rich and successful for them to suddenly stop. It may not be the next game, or the game after, but they will need to go where the money is and I doubt any new IP they come out with will match the huge success that the Witcher series has brought them.

I don't know man. I actually prefer how they ended his story and that he should take a historical break.

Ofcourse they can go prequel mode, which is very interesting in that aspect. Or have him as a guest character in another game or fiction.

They stated with no uncertainty that they have finished with geralt 100%. They no longer want to make geralt protagonist. They love the witcher world, and will look at doing more witchery things down the line, but they will not involve geralt.

I know that's what they said, but we'll see what actually happens.

iD also said "no more Doom games" at one point also, but after Rage their tune changed.

Bought GOTY yesterday. Played for about 2 hours only so far. But my god... the game looks beautiful.
I wish the game supported TXAA as I really think TXAA would really suit artistic direction of this game. Using DSR @ 5K, the game looks stunning though.

I found Witcher 1 and 2 more engaging somehow. Unless im missing something.

It is the environment and story itself. It grows much larger as the game grows. You need some patience to see its full depth.

I have mine set at 25%.

With that being said, I'd like to add that... in theory, you want an even multiple (aka, integer scaling), either DSR 2x or DSR 4x. (4x is the best as it's 2x width + 2x height)
4x DSR on a 1080p display is 4K, so that looks great. 4x DSR on a 1440p display is 5K (5120x2880) which also looks great. If you're running these even multiples, it's my understanding that DSR smoothness at 0% is theoretically an optimal value.
The smoothness setting uses a Gaussian filter to help offset the downsides to uneven SSAA, which is simply not desired on an even multiple such as 2x and 4x, especially 4x.
The effect of this also vary from person to person and the kind of LCD/LED panel utilized, some monitors have better sharpening than others in regard to image quality, so this affect entirely the end result of DSR+Smoothness percentage.
For Witcher 3, sharp textures, vegetation etc.. 25% smoothness (rather than theoretically optimal 0%) with DSR 4x looks good to me.
You should try different smoothness values and see what you like best.

You should try different smoothness values and see what you like best.
awesome - thanks. running it at 4k = looks gorgeous. btw, the caretaker, straight out of something you'd encounter in a souls game
