Hit level 37 last night and started getting into the first expansion.
Downloaded Blood and Wine as well.

I get maximum enjoyment playing just 1 game at a time, especially if its a story driven one.

I am using a mod that increases the leveling curve so I don't become overleveled on content. It still works with the newest update (1.21)

Really not sure what else there is, the really good ones haven't been updated for the newest version of the game and the authors of the mods look like they abandoned them.

The new patch includes auto-level for monsters as well, you just need to enable it in the gameplay options.

Why the hell they put an almost impossible quest already in Velen?? The missing brother quest?? How the **** are you supossed to kill a lvl 32 beast when being lvl 5 yourself??? Hartiss or something like that?

You're not supposed to deal with it immediately by design. If you want to take it on, go for it.

As soon as i enter the cave after i destroy the eggs, it attacks on sight.

You should have took notice of the quest difficulty rating. It's one of those quests you're not going to be ready for until almost end of the game. If you're already in the cave, just run and come back later.

Missing Brother quest is a level 33 quest, look at your quest log, the numbers to the left of the quest indicate the suggested level for the quest.

But if you want to complete any quest at any level use this mod

it can scale all non-boss enemies to a range you pick, so it would downscale the enemies for that quest.

Not in my memory, though it's been a while I'll admit. Still remember a quest where I had to meditate until midnight for the "trigger". Which was a good experience, as you'd see the game world change while doing so. And the fighting had some style to it that fit me well at the time.
It's what got me interested in the Witcher series, reminded me of the original Prince of Persia (grace).

In Witcher 1 all you did was click on an enemy, repeatedly. It was timed so you could do "combos", but it was literally just a click fest. One button attack.

Like in 99% of other hack and slash top down RPGs? And yet Witcher 1 gets the flack? While it actually improved upon them with the timed combos.

I found nothing wrong with Witcher 1 combat at the time I played it.

However, if we were to return to that, then that would be a huge step backwards.

And I'm done. All side quests finished up too, except for some question marks on the map which I'll get to later maybe. Fantastic addition to the game and in all a journey that I will never forget.

what triggers the quest with the vampire? The one in the coffin? Played untill the endboss in my first walkthrough,( no dlc's yet at that time) but didn't find that one?

You can find that vampire in the novigrad sewers behind a breakable wall. It's not directly linked to any quest though, juat an encounter.

I'm more concerned about the language problems. Seems a few of us have a bug that turns random text and peoples names into polish :/

So far people have been able to fix that by just verifying their game cache. The problem is related to something wrong with the installation itself.

I did that, it fixed the graphic bugs, but not this one. Only fix i found was going back to the main menu, changing the language options, then changing back to english. However this only works for a while :/

have you tried editing the user.settings file and making it read-only? there's two lines for language, make both =EN

It's not actually a language problem. the game keeps displaying debug info, which is why its showing polish names and things. The game is not in debug mode otherwise i would just take it out of debug mode. it's a weird bug.

Fixed it. Had to delete an extra file the gog galaxy had downloaded apparently.

Hearts of Stone is such a snooze fest DLC. I got to the mansion and done dat bitch dead. Now I am only doing the main mission since I seem to be overlevelled anyways (about 38 or something). Also I have points to spare but no where to spend them on since I am using skills I acquired up to level 12 or 13 that still own everything.

Playing on normal difficulty I think. Game is good but the story in Hearts of Stone is just crap. I also hate working for a douche bag.

Hoping Boner and Wine is good DLC!

Just realized I have 58 hours played and I'm only just finishing up with Skellige -- got some side quests to do then I'm continuing the main quest.

it was easy at launch too imo, once u got out of white orchard and few skills unlocked it became to easy(I do a sign build initially then invest into alchemy)

idk, I remember dying 50 times on the Griffin at White Orchard at release.

I killed it first try this time.

Maybe it's because I'm being way more thorough and doing all side quests which is putting me overleveled and/or on par with the quests. Who knows. Maybe all the Dark Souls 3 I played made me better at these kind of games.

I'm doing a sign+melee build right now with the general talent that allows food to last for 20min. I have so much food I'm considering taking it off and putting something else in that slot.
