I do not like the UI changes with 1.21, the old one had its fair share of issues but...
Also the limited number of abilities is still annoying.:: We are all the sum of our tears.
:: Too little and the ground is not fertile and nothing can grow there.
:: Too much and best of us is washed away.

primary patch notes include option to disable auto drawing and sheathing of sword and the ability to have low-level mobs scale to your level. full notes link below.
Adds new functionality to books and scrolls. When first collected, they can be read immediately using single button without need of navigating to Inventory panel. All found but not yet read books and scrolls are stored in Quest Items and Other categories. Once read, books and scrolls can be sold as their content is saved in Books section of Glossary.
edit - can a sweetfx preset cause a compilation error?Last edited by Dungeoncrawler; May 30, 2016, 01:51 PM.

I am honestly not trolling. I bought the game on release day. Also bought the expansions. So i have a vested interest in actually wanting to like the game.
However, I just cannot get into it. With the new expansion coming out I sat down today to see if I could just get over a hump or something with the game.
So I finished the bloody baron questline today after trying to play this game off and on over the past year. I understand from other forums this is supposed to be the best quest ever. To be honest, it was a slog for me. I think if the combat was better it would have been enjoyable, but the combat is such a letdown. It felt like listen to this guy drone on, go use that witcher vision to find something, listen some more, travel some place, do some brief boring combat, travel some place listen some more, repeat...
Am i playing this game wrong? is there something to make the combat more fun? I upgraded the light and heavy strikes, and just use quen pretty much. Are there any dungeons?
Help me like this game.

For combat, maybe you need a more challenging fight? Did you try some contracts yet? These are more like Boss fights. Try Jenny o'the Woods if you are in Velen and still pretty low level. Also, make sure that you bind your dodge key to something that is easy to press. (like a mouse button). Use dodge a lot. Also, it is not supposed to be a click-fest. Up the difficulty if that's how you win every fight.
In other news: Expansion has started downloading finally...

just noticed in the gameplay options screen - turn off witcher senses "fish-eye" effect. either i missed that or it's new with today's patch? also i really like the new menu screens. one last thing - check your graphics settings. some of mine defaulted to lowest setting.Last edited by Dungeoncrawler; May 30, 2016, 03:39 PM.

Is anyone noticing some weirdness with the shadow lod? For example in the pic below you'll see that when I'm close to the house I can't see the roof shadow, but once I'm very close it's there. Is this something that can be tweaked in the ini's, or perhaps a driver issue?

either the patch or dlc makes roach tail-less
edit - appears to only affect roach while in skellige continent.Last edited by Dungeoncrawler; May 30, 2016, 07:15 PM.

B&W Bug (1.21)
Potion of clearance won't show up if you put it in your hand, so you can't use it. A workaround is to go to your inventory and press E while you have it selected and it'll work.:: We are all the sum of our tears.

For me too the combat and controls were a hurdle to get over. Coming from Dark Souls it just wasn't satisfying enough. I decided to focus on enjoying the game's strengths, which is the extremely polished writing and voice acting of the quests, right down to the smallest side quests. Then when I got to Skellige my favorite area, I was hooked and by that point I had gotten used to the combat.
Along with that I let myself get sucked into role playing as Geralt the Witcher and just wandering the world in search of contracts to do, and also the Witcher gear treasure hunts. Finding all the Griffin school gear up to mastercrafted was a really immersive experience. I guess I got hooked on the game with the side stuff, and then went back to the main quest lines later. I seem to always enjoy the side questing more in these open world RPGs.
Anyways try to stick with it, its truly an incredible game.

I don't have seem to have the ability to start a load game?? My first screen is the heart of stone blue-ish screen, with the 3 choices( only heart, "old" save, or fresh start). So i push E for OK, then i have the same screen for blood and wine, again with the 3 choices. So i press E again, so the main screen appears, where only new game, options and DLC appear??????Demons run when a good man goes to war,Night will fall and drown in sun
When a good man goes to war, Friendship dies and true love lies, Night will fall and the dark will rise
When a good man goes to war, Demons run but count the cost , The battles won but the child is lost
