Today is a special day. It's the one I look forward to every month. Squadron 42 Email Update day!!
    Let's take a look:
    - This month, the story team filed 1000 pages' worth of side-quests, and then decided to delete it.
    - The Enemy AI department were so successful, that their creations rebelled and murdered them all.
    - We are hiring! Please apply for the following positions: 1. Anti-Technology specialists. Amish background and own weapons a plus. 2. Enemy AI coding specialists. 3. Physics coding specialists.
    - The Physics department invented a new mode of chronological travel. Subsequently, they have vanished, leaving behind a sole copy of the 2024 Sports Almanac.

I understand gamers are pissed. From what I've seen it's a decent alternative for Elite, where I've sunk hundreds of hours. A 50€ starter pack will provide enough gaming time to make the cost worth for me, at least according to my price/entertainment ratio.
Don't really care too much about what's behind it, and it will keep me busy while waiting for Starfield.

Not sure why people would take the plunge now, when the game isn't nearly finished 11 years into development thanks to a micro-managing leader who keeps getting his devs to rebuild things from the ground up and a scope that keeps creeping up.

Your money would be better spent if you simply converted your entire life savings into coins and went by boat to the spot just above the Mariana trench and dumped it all overboard.

I recon last pages in this thread show little enthusiasm for this game, and probably understandably so, but I'm about to take the plunge regardless.
If anyone here still playing wants to share their referral code or whatever that thing that brings riches to everyone is called, well, here I am

One half of a billion dollars. At this rate the billionaires of the world are going to have to make room for Chris in their club.

Star Citizen breaks another crowdfunding record by raising over $500 million in total.

I guess some people never heard of not paying for a finished product.

It's the never-ending kick-starter. Every time that a goalpost comes up the guy just moves them.

At this point, it's like watching a professional Con artist perform.

I had the temerity to say Star Citizen wasn't really a game yet on the comments for Jackfrags' latest YouTube video, and got put in my rightful place. Not by apologists or croberts sycophants obviously.

Seriously, I get wanting something to succeed (hell, I do too) but rabid fanaticism is scary

How much you want to bet that his end game is to sell tech to Meta and others. That the game was never the point, just a good pretext to get funding without any stock changing hands.

Just got a SQ42 update email, with this at the top of the list
Specifically for Squadron 42 (Sq42), AI Content revamped the ‘sleep and bed relaxation’ activity started last year

“We knew early on that, to hit the fidelity we expect for Sq42, we would need to do some R&D on bedsheet deformation. This work is currently underway and, if successful, will allow the AI to deform their sheets when entering, exiting, or sleeping inside them. This is a challenging assignment and expands the complexity of the feature. For example, what happens to the sheets if the AI needs to exit the bed in an emergency?” AI Content
Bed Sheet Deformation......good to see they are staying focused on the important stuff.

it's all really down to the US legal system, from what I read throughout the years, the legal dispute that some people did literally shot down by trivialities like : "oh you sued the wrong company" or that "well you accepted the EULA" etc
Personal/class action lawsuits take effort. Getting a note to the right people who can be outraged on your behalf lets those in power take it from there. Just need to make sure it's a good note with facts, figures, and what's going wrong.

The government isn't bound by an EULA. They can invalidate it for others too, or demand reparations for injured parties.
