I always find it hilarious they add things like ice physics to the game when they dont even have some of the basic stuff down.
Also still looks like its running like ****. We have gone through what maybe 2-3 generations of video cards and nothing can run this thing with decent frames.

No, they are not the same level of rip off.I guess it's the trend nowdays with games; either you are a hardcore PC GAME, or you live long enough to see yourself become a console port

edit - guess there are 4 now
The reality is they are going to release a 10 hour buggy ass shell of a game.

They could be taking their time too knowing commonplace hardware/performance catches up. Already their engine streaming has been optimized for SSDs (I'm guessing high amount of small blocks?).
Wing Commander 1 then 2 (and Ultima7 for that matter...cool days!) were pretty steep on requirements when they came out, I mean can you imagine someone telling you "I just bought a soundcard for speech and a Roland sound module for music worth of $2300" today? Not that many system sellers these days, but this one game might be it.

I have been reading many articles lately regarding the life cycle of this game. Personally I believe Chris has an ego issue. He seems quite satisfied with individuals circumventing his directors, and coming straight to him as one example. Likewise the games development cycle screams overscope. Many games throughout their development cycle had things cut or redesigned due to its size. Again this could be Chris and his ego? It would have been simple enough to set a goal, fund that goal, and deliver that goal. Even if no further features were added, it appears enough is on the table already to extend the development cycle into the foreseeable future.

CIG just won the MTD in relation to 2.4. Crytek tried to sue CIG for Promoting another engine and for licensing another engine from a third party. The judge rule on CIGs favor saying that Crytek's interpretation of 2.4 is wrong.
This leaves:
1- Whether or not the GLA that says the GLA is for both SQ42 and SC is actually for SQ42 and SC.
2-Whether or not CIG shared Crytek code with a third party company, that happened like 6 or 7 months after CIG moved to Lumberyard, and many years after Crytek shared their code with the public themselves and after Crytek made their code free to use.
3- And whether or not code was shared with the public through bugsmashers.Originally posted by David O. totally an open and transparent game development guys.
Also open development is just that, talking about the game development, it does not mean and has never meant open business/human resource/regular business stuff. Or do you expect them to tell us when someone is going on vacation, or each time they bought toilet paper, or pens as well?Originally posted by David O. Star Citizen Maker CIG Takes $46m Investment Valuing it at $500 Million – Squadron 42 Roadmap ReleasedToday, we look at a few major pieces of news which have come out of CIG.
•Cloud Imperium (both the UK Ltd and the US LLC legal entities) have agreed a private investment from an external party amounting to approximately $46 million in exchange for new shares being issued (113,861 in each of the UK and US entities), amounting to approximately 10% of the overall company. This gives the various entities a combined valuation of approximately $496 million once the new money is taken into account.
•Two new board members join the boards of both the UK and US entities, these being Dan Offner, representing the new investors (Clive and Keith Calder), as well as Eli Klein who is a long-time friend of Chris Roberts and has apparently been a sometime advisor in recent years.
•Board and company control remains with Chris Roberts as Chairman, CEO and majority shareholder.
•Money to be used for marketing and business development initiatives as Squadron 42 and Star Citizen head towards launch.
•CIG will release full historical financial details from 2012 through to 2017 via a new corporate website.
•Squadron 42 roadmap released and is expected to be feature complete by the end of 2019 with alpha/beta in 2020.
