Yes, and that is because it is still "new", it takes laws a long time to catch up with new technologies/ideas. Look at the EU and when it comes to laws dealing with digital content, digital content/downloads has been around more than a decade and it has only been fairly recently that the EU started to tackle laws to govern it.

I am a little disappointing in what UK regulations did to PCARS, though at least happy they didn't force them to give all the money back (just forced them to offer refunds to those that wanted them).

It was nice to see an actual return on being an early adopter, instead of just the usual getting it in the rear.

What is PCARS and what is the story behind that?

I wanna get... I wanna go to Evocati... I wanna make sure the first thing we can do is ensure we can traverse the system easily and well, and that's all this set of bugs is about, is we... you know... from getting in, taking off, ATC working, QT-ing working, being able to go to locations, all that kinda stuff, we just get THAT working and so it's not... it's not a nightm... you know I'm not going into maps all the time and trying to work out where I can jump places and so forth... you can do that kind of stuff and we have what I think is a really good start for EVOCATI cos it's a lot of FUN, it's FUN.

You go down to planets you do some EVENTS. And THEN, once we get this set of twenty, you know, SIX bugs left, you know... and don't forget these are the 26 bugs I want fixed to go to EVOCATI with, but I'm SURE we'll fix a bunch of other STUFF, you know, at the same time and stuff like that... and then we basically go and get that in, and then once we get that set of BUGS... you know, those set of, uh, BUGS... then what we're gonna do again is sit... sit down with TARD and then say, 'Right! What's um... what's the next feature we wanna focus on', and then pick another say ten, twenty um... like FEATURES... let's get TRADING maybe working properly and then maybe... ten or fifteen features...

... and we say right, here's the... here's the seventeen BUGS for that, that's the next release for EVOCATI, let's get all this stuff worked on and then we fix all sorts of stuff in the background, and we just basically PICK a FEATURE at a time, NAIL IT DOWN and just keep on going that way and that's how we're gonna close this out.

What is PCARS and what is the story behind that?

Project C.A.R.S. is a crowd funded racing sim. They had a profit sharing agreement with their backers. They also had a lot of detractors and development issues.

The project ended up being pretty successful. I still get around 20 euros a quarter from them, though that isn't why I backed.

That might be the most annoying video I've ever partially watched. What a ****ing whiny little **** that guy is. As somebody who could care less about this game I can't see being that annoyed with software that isn't even out of alpha.

Most of the fun right now is in squadron battle. I have had a lot of fun hours flying with the great group of guys and gals in Legacy Fleet.

I also know a few people that are really into Star Marine, though it isn't really my thing.

If you aren't into arcade style PVP combat, there isn't much here yet. Still hoping that 3.0 will help fix that.

Black Mesa is not being actively developed to finish the last 3rd of the game (that's been promised for the last 10 years), yet it's still being charged $20 on Steam, which is NEVER discounted during any steam sale.

Podcasters post negative videos about CIG / SC to get hits. It's an easy current target just like NMS, and sure way to get lots of hits and up the activity stream. Once someone gets this involved it's nigh on impossible to remain unaffected by emotions. It's good fun to watch.

People are enjoying it from both sides. Me, as a programmer, I'm enjoying the technical stuff. Lots of challenges and issues that hits home. Jira, burndown charts, it's all familiar

I mean how stupid do you have to be in the first place to feel like you needed to back the project with anything more than the basic pledge? It is hilarious the terrible butt hurt caused by this game already.

People agreed to fund the development of a game being made by someone else (they presumably trust). You did not pay for control of the games development and if that was the case I for one would not want to fund it. I have not funded the game myself as I prefer to wait for games to be finalized and released before I see if I'm interested and willing to spend the cash.

I like the way the developer does not feel the need to react to every little rant or media drama, but just get on with realizing their goals.
