I'm anticipating all the boredom that I will feel when I play this game.
Fighting in swamps. Yipee.
Did they even bother making the series aesthetically pleasing anymore?I was talking about the destruction of the USD before it was cool.

I was very much looking forward to what they had up their sleeves when Crysis 3 was first announced, but I'm seeing the same enemies, weapons, and everything.
It looks like a Crysis 2 DLC or Mission Pack rather than a brand spanking new Crysis game.Still gonna give it a shot, because the gameplay in Crysis is unlike almost anything else these days. The freedom in attacks is a breath of fresh air to say the least. It sure beats the hell out of the boring cover-based combat in so many other games.

Ah Yerli and his lackies at it again.... Let's go over the history shall we:
Crysis - hyped as best looking game ever period. All the pre-rendered videos, touched up picks and Yerlin interviews claiming it runs very smooth and optimized for PC. What actually happened? Demo release hit, game is an unoptmized mess, requires a PC that will exist 5 years after release of the title. Support is cut in 3 months.
Crysis Warhead - Game announced, everyone thinking that it is going to be DLC or expansion get the rude awakening that it is standalone and will cost as much as the original. Graphics are slightly toned down to increase performance claiming better optimizations. Support cut 2 months after release. Hackers rule multiplayer.
Cryengine 3 - Crytek unveils Cryengine 3 but turns out its for consoles. PC community knows what's coming next.
Crysis 2 - Game announced, Crytek claims PC first console second priority. What we got? Console port, promised high res texture pack etc etc but in reality the game shipped without, even ships without dx 11 support... 4 months later high res texture patch release with dx11 support. Support is then cut for the title lol...
Crysis 3 - leaked announced, add a bow you got yourself a sequel which again should be dlc. No improvement to tech as its a console port....
History repeating itself.Intel Core i9 10900K @ 5.2GHz, Asus Maximus XII Apex, GSkill Trident-Z Royal DDR4 3200MHz 32GB CAS11, Asus Strix 3080Ti OC, Creative Labs SXFI Theater, Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB, Corsair AXI 1500i PSU, ThermalTake View 71, Corsair K95 Platinum RGB, Corsair Dark Core RGB SE, Acer Predator X34, Windows 10 Professional X64

I keep seeing all these "next gen" graphics thats supposed to WOW us from the DX9 era and honestly....I dont see this "PS2 > PS3" like graphical difference thats supposed to happen......
It just looks like current gen, with more realistic lighting......
And im starting to think that tweaking the lighting ends up making the most dramatic differences between generations.
8bit > 16bit
16bit > 32bit
2D > 3D
3D Shapes > 3D Objects
Low Poly 3D > High poly 3D
From here on its just increasing resolution, polygon count, shader effects, and tweaking the lighting.
I think we've reached the point where we cannot increase the graphics in dramatic fashion outside of the natural progression of things.Last edited by Sasquach; Apr 24, 2012, 05:37 PM.------Squachbox 2022------

Multiplayer ofcourse will be a grindfist. If you want to play Crysis 3, go play/replay Crysis 2. Sorry for being like this but yearly releases of games with small changes isn't interesting anymore. We all know they are releasing it in 2013 just to avoid having the game come out with other EA games.*Sending A Dream Into the Universe*

The upgrade in lighting is because the industry has realized it is an area which was severely lacking before, same with animation. It's the only areas in which they can differentiate themselves from the competition at the moment, seeing as there is no new hardware.Originally posted by General LeeI've been praying for your nuts.Originally posted by General LeeIf you must listen to country [music], play it backwards. I don't know about you guys but the whole blur/bloom is perfectly realistic. In the morning when I step outside I am always shielding my eyes with both hands from the shiny grass.

Crysis 3' leaked screenshots
Crysis 3' leaked screenshots
July 24, 2012
Four new screenshots of Crysis 3, showing off the "Canyon" environment seen in the E3 demo, leaked today.
The gorgeous images were posted on the blog of Pierre-Yves Donzallaz, a senior lighting artist at Crytek, who has since taken them down.
According to Donzallaz, the lighting and post-processing effects exhibited in the screenshots are running in real time. They make the game world look particularly alive, which it is — Crysis 3 takes place in a New York City that has been terraformed after the events of Crysis 2, turning it into a literal urban jungle. It also brings back some of the wide-open spaces that were characteristic of the original Crysis' tropical setting, while retaining the verticality of its sequel.
Crytek, the German studio making Crysis 3, has stated a desire to maintain parity across all three platforms, both in terms of visuals — as much as possible — and gameplay. "If something would radically change the experience on one platform, and we can't translate across all of them, then the feature will not be there," director of creative development Rasmus Hoejengaard told Polygon in April.
Crysis 3 is set to launch on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 in February 2013.

I honestly think Crysis 2, with High-res textures and tessellation, looks very good. And I enjoyed both Crysis games.
