I replayed the first level in Crysis 3. Something changed and it runs butter smooth now in 3D. Was frickin' dope that level from an effects, and graphical fidelity standpoint. Might replay a couple more levels simply because the game is incredibly fun

agreed. crysis 1 was the best as far as freedom goes and warhead was a bit more linear but the pacing benefited from that. 3 is the next on my list of favorites which I found better then 2. but I would call any crysis game bad. the suit alone is for e worth it

Im a bit puzzled at you hating c2 but enjoying c3. if anything c3 is really c 2.5. gameplay is very much the same besides the hacking mini game and a few driving scenes.
I've only played the first few levels of both games, but Crysis 3 seems much more fun and engaging to me. Crysis 2 bores me to death whenever I play it. Just feels like a dumbed down console version of Crysis. In 3 however, I think things like the improved suit controls, the addition of the bow, and obvious adding of technical polish are making me enjoy 3 more. You're right though, it is similar to 2.

So far, everything at max settings except SMAA LOW (x1). I am running my 670's at stock too, BTW.

Its not pegged at 60 always, but its nice and smooth and perfectly playable. We'll see when I get to some more demanding areas of the game however.

What type of settings are you able to run at 2560x1440?

After all this time I actually finally broke down and installed and tried the game out last night.

From what I have seen so far I must say they have done quite an incredible job with the visuals, as well as streamlining the control scheme. Much improved over Crysis 2 which I think is just a derivative PoS.

Runs pretty well on my system too, but I'm sure the most graphic intensive levels are yet to come.

The cvar configurator doesn't seem to have any ai tweaks. Looking for any kind of code/mod to play around with enemy ai. There are plenty of graphical tweaks so I figured you could mess with ai like in Far Cry.

I was kinda dissapointed with the lenght and the boss fight is just lackluster. as bad as crysis 1 boss fight. but overall its a fine game. also, the first new york level is the most demanding. after that the game runs a lot better, at least it did for me. i really enjoyed the gunplay and the suit, even though its not as open as crysis 1.

I will be honest. The first one was the better game, but for story the second and the third are actually pretty good entertainment wise.

Try playing one hour of Crysis 3 and then fire up Skyrim; it suddenly looks like Minecraft, blocks and pointy edges everywhere

Graphics wise Crysis 3 has really spoiled me. Had to set it aside for a while, makes all other games look outdated!

im also cpu limited according to pcgameshardware benches, so i cant really expect much then lower 30fps. but its worth it. the game is gorgeous, makes far cry 3 look last gen.

Gameplay is pretty much refined crysis 2. its still all about fairly small areas where you have a chance to utilize the suit and the environment to your play style. so those that found c2 dissapointing probably wont be too happy again. im enjoying it a lot. finally a game where all the hud hand holders make sense and add to the game, not detract from it.

    top notch game, imo.

Your gonna need to set aside 4-8 hours then.

Never buy a new release. Give them 6 months to get the bugs out and the prices to get down, then jump in.

Can't finish a game? A.D.D. rears its head in many scenarios. That and gamers are getting pretty jaded these days. That and devs are going all bling and no game. On and on...

Same here. The game dropped off my radar while waiting for FOV fixes that either never came or came to little to late. Same with Tomb Raider I waited for patches to label qte buttons so I didn't have to mash my KB to find the correct key and fix some other issues and it dropped off my radar as well.

Couple reasons why I haven't bought this yet.

    1) Can't swallow the Origin exclusive pill.

    2) I haven't been interested enough in Crysis 2 to finish that one yet, which leads me to believe I may not have much interest in 3.

As boring as all other crysis games

Thats what I had always assumed too. I thought that the whole point of these games was to showcase the engine that they're selling.
