I don't agree with that assessment. Farcry 3 has much more open world to play around with. Crysis had long sections of linear gameplay including time in a tank, traversing through some caves, the alien level and so on. Farcry 3, once the world opens up after mission 1 or 2 just leaves you to do whatever the hell you like and in whatever order. Crysis had no such thing.

I enjoyed C2 more than C3, thought it brought a lot more to the table on release and included a competent story. C1 is superior even though it turns a bit linear towards the end. I would go as far as saying the first level in Crysis 1 is better than the entirety of C2 or C3. If only Crytek took that level as a template and expanded on it. C3 is not a bad game, it's a decent sci fi shooter that I don't regret buying. Maybe cevat is right with his gamer fatigue comments. I have a feeling BioShock Infinite may well disprove his theory.

It may have been open but it was still linear. You could get lost on the island (I know I did) but all you did was "take the scenic route" to your next objective.

Many of the objectives could be done in a variety of ways. Not as open as FC3 but much more so than any COD game.

Sorry but this game is just way way too short, for $60 heck it's too short for the $40 I paid. It looked pretty and was fun, but 6 hours of gameplay?? It's not even an exaggeration, 6 hours, I am an average gamer at best, so it's not like I sped through it and I played on the level down from no crosshairs. Big big letdown when it was over, this game felt like a demo. Gameplay was a 8, graphics 10, story was par for the course for any shooter so I'd say a 7, game length was a -2. I enjoy games, I'm not one to normally complain, but geez 6 hours is pathetic for a AAA game. Unless your into benchmarking games and/or staring at wall textures, I'd not recommend this til it is $30 or less.

That 6 hours is generous btw, that includes stopping to poop, smoke, talk to kids etc.. I'd say it was closer to 4 or 5 hours.

Max Payne is like 6 hours long and one of the best games I've ever played.

Well if you compare apples to apples instead of your dinner, than I'd say you'd struggle to find any other AAA game this short. Lets be honest, it's really not even 6 hours maybe 4.5 or 5 hours. But at the end of the day it's definitely a subjective opinion on value, what you think is a good deal comes across as a waste of money to me, your no more wrong or right than I am. Glad you guys enjoy it that much, I thought it was ok, but besides graphics nothing mind blowing.

I'm not a cheap ass or a game hater either, just felt really let down by the length of this game, and besides the graphics it just felt underwhelming.

I had 10+ hours in the single player game too. but I also took time to have fun with it. I played some boards where I killed every one with stealth kills and just did whatever I felt like at the time.

My friend, at hardest difficulty the only crosshair you have is when you are using reflex/iron sights. I don't get how you had crosshairs in hardest difficulty?

He means the hardest difficulty that still has crosshairs, so the 2nd hardest or 3rd hardest, I wouldnt know as I turn the crosshairs off in every game.

I played on one less than hardest and there were no crosshairs. Playing this game on anything other than the last 2 difficulties results in insanely short time. If he played at 3rd hardest (from the hardest) then his 6 hours makes sense to me. You can't go gung ho in hardest difficulties anyways so I am assuming he didn't play on the last 2 hard difficulties.

Either way, game was definitely worth the 32.5 I spent on it. If you paid 60 then I can expect the butt hurt but then also you are out of touch with the world since game is available by tons of people/websites for no more than 40 cum donuts.

It's really not that short, but then again most of the reports you read online about game length are bullshit, imo.
There are people claiming they beat Tomb Raider in under 8 hours. I'm 11 hours in and I'm not done yet.

I know, I am not judging you or saying you are lying. I thought you mentioned earlier hard difficulty and wanted to double check before I laid any other claim. I do understand that if the difficulty is down it is a short game. 6 hours is the correct time at your difficulty. 5 hours is on normal (could be 4 if someone is just jumping from one place to the next).

I would feel a boner kill as well at 6 hours length especially if I paid full price. Oh well, if you consider it a good game, do try the harder difficulties. They are worth it.

First, I didn't have apples for dinner.

Second, I was being somewhat facetious. As you said, value is subjective. Some people value quality over quantity. Others don't. At the end of the day, if you're happy, it was worth it. If not, it wasn't. So far I've put in 3 play hours (my own estimate) and I'm loving it. I die a lot so I enjoy trying different strategies to clean out the areas. I'm not simply plowing my way through the game. For me, so far, it's a good value at $37.

I'm on my second play through this tie on superhuman and no cross hair makes it more strategic and play style changes, good fun. Thank f they got rid of the gfx bugs for me in latest patch.

This is a weird thread. Only about the last 5% of it are from the time the game came out and only about 1/4 of those are talking about the game. Sounded more like a bunch of bitches sitting around a table knitting rather than gaming.

I thought this game was pretty damn good (but I also thought Crysis 2 was pretty damn good). Looks absolutely stunning and what an eye candy treat to play. About the only thing that would have been better is if it would have been longer. My system handled it ok (with a couple of adjustments) and no game crashes. I thought it had good atmosphere and I had fun playing it. I'll definitely be playing this one some more as I do with Crysis 2. Not interested in multiplayer as I'm not in any game. Single player dude, that's it.

So i plugged my SMart HD tv and tried some 3d, basicly the only game that supports this is Crysis 2 on my comp, not even BF3 or MW3 has support as far as i could find in the menus.

The original Prophet killed himself due to the infection overcoming his body resulting in the possibility that suit will be controlled by the Ceph (aliens). He gave the suit to a new guy whose name is some Barnes (I forget his actual name in Crysis 2/3). Once in the suit, he is recognized as prophet since his DNA bonds with the nanites and starts enhancing his body due to recombinant DNA in suit.

Everything was quite well explained in both games and there is a lot of lore worth reading to understand more. I can, however, recognize why some people may find the story not making much sense if they did not enjoy Crysis 2 and/or paid much attention in that game. In this game, it is actually simplified to a large amount compared to Crysis 2.
