THe MP is pretty fun, like crysis 2. Love to air stomp people (seems more powerful than c2) or just kick a car in their general direction. Removing energy from sprint just makes the whole gameplay faster. Although occasionally it gets kinda ridiculous when people are jumping back and forth over each other or just running across the level trying to chase each other. The alien weapons add a bit of spice and equalize things a touch. Killstreaks don't really crowd the suit gameplay which is good. Some of the maps - brooklyn bridge and financial district are outstanding for parkour gameplay. Not many playing the mp though, just like crysis 2, so it will be near empty in a month
Single player is mediocre in comparison, the lack of vehicle sandbox is a big deal for me. Linear sections, scripted vtol sequence, terrible driving sections, enemies that spawn when you are right under their nose. The bow is overpowered and makes the rest of the weapons suck. The AI is broken too much and just does stupid things too often on normal or post human. They also spot and shoot you through walls or dense foliage on normal. Hacking turrets and mines is stupid.
7.5/10 game overall.Last edited by nutcrackr; Mar 2, 2013, 05:48 AM.

My score is 5 because Crytek is in question. Such a great team with so many resources, and we have 5 hours POS.

I have no clue what game you guys played. The storyline was straight up build up from the previous games. There is a lot of lore in the stuff you find. Read the intel and you will know even more. There is phenomenal information and lore behind the story. Going through it all is fun pass time and makes you appreciate the game even more.
The gameplay is rock solid, the scenarios in which the game plays out is downright beautiful and the story makes perfect sense. I don't know what is a better game and/or what is missing? Length of the SP? Even that is a non issue when playing at harder difficulties. The AI is also quite good. All said and done, it was one of the best experiences I had this year thus far.
Seems like rating games poorly is cool on the internet.

Actually i have spend more time in C3 tweaking it for better performance. But real play time was about 6 hours and 20 min.Last edited by Ancient76; Mar 2, 2013, 05:28 PM.

There is a known bug with the ingame timer for SP. It's effectively how long you took to play it if you never reloaded the game. e.g. If I play a level for twenty minutes, die, then take twenty five minutes to complete it, the timer will say 25 mins, not 45 mins.

Game took me 8 hours, I don't have problems with the length. If they had of made it more experimental sandbox, the game would have felt longer and more valuable.

I was going to buy this at full price, since I loved Crysis 2 so much, but something made reconsider; I barely played the original Crysis. I'd like to go back and play it next, before tackling the third game.
Now that I have a decent PC (compared to 2007) it should run and look nice enough too.
Anyone have a spare key for Crysis 1 from a recent Steam sale maybe? I could buy it or swap for a 'Don't Starve' Steam key? Failing that, I guess I'll just wait for it to be on sale again.
If Crysis 1 and 3 are at least as good as 2, I'll be very happy.
Interestingly, Crysis 3 (and Dead Space 3) is on sale on Australian Origin for 30% off, only days after it's release. I bet they were losing heaps of sales to the
CD-Key sites who are selling the game at a far more reasonable price. Even with the discount, Aussies are paying about $55 on Origin, so it's not that great...Last edited by KevinJAnderson; Mar 3, 2013, 12:01 AM.

Played some more Crysis 3 MP. The maps are extremely well done and crash site can be quite a mayhem. If only the movement and gunplay was as tight as BLOPS2, this game could have been absolute dope. The gunplay in MP is quite jerky and not satisfying. The bullet spread is absolute shite and sometimes bullets don't even show up. Rather than having kill cams, they could have spent time improving the movement and overall feel of the game.
Also, without the suit the MP is pretty bad. I don't like it one bit without the suit powers. With suits on, it is fairly fun. Overall MP is a 6/10 for me.

Oddly enough, this game was forcing blue screens until I upped my QPI voltage. Hours of Shogun 2, ArmA 2 w/ DayZ mod, and Planetside 2 -- none of these forced blue screens.Originally posted by curioEat this protein bar, for it is of my body. And drink this creatine shake, for it is my blood.

I'm nearly done with the single player campaign and have had only one game lockup so far. I did have to restart from a checkpoint for my last session due to getting into an area where I couldn't jump my way out. I guess that's my fault for trying to explore in a FPS game.
But, this game is simply incredible when played in 3D. I never imagined I'd be so impressed with 3D gaming but when it works well, it is amazing!
I have a HD 7970 3GB card due to arrive tomorrow (Tuesday) and am hoping to be even more impressed.~Windows 10 x64 Professional~Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H~Intel I7-3770K~8x2 GB DDR3 Crucial Ballistic 1600 RAM (Dual Channel)~RealTek Onboard~XFX R9 390 8GB GDDR5~3 Acer 27 inch LCDs~SCEPTRE 505 4K UHD TVand one Sanyo 32 inch HDTV connected via Intel onboard GPU~SATA BluRay RW~1000 W PSU~And a Whole Lot More!~AND....1 TB XBOX ONE~1 PS4 with Uncharted Bundle~

Crytek CEO calls Crysis 3 a “masterpiece”, defends against negative critics
"Crysis 3 is developer Crytek’s “masterpiece”, according to CEO Cevat Yerli. Despite a mixed batch of reviews, Yerli places the game’s critical response on “fatigue” in the market, and has stated that it’s better then the first two games."

Crytek CEO: “the notion of a single-player experience has to go away”
"Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli has stressed that the idea of closed, single-player only games must be culled moving forward. That’s not to say he doesn’t want single-player games to vanish, they simply must evolve."

Yeah, read that article. Makes him come across as a douchebag with no insight into the market. Also he accepts that game was severely limited by 7 year old console tech.
Either way, I quite enjoyed it. Anyone who didn't like Crysis 3 SP must be smoking dope or hate the FPS genre since it does almost everything right.
Also, MP is growing on me. Crash site is hardpoint from BLOPS2. My favorite mode of MP gameplay. In Crysis it can get pretty intense. I had a guy hit me with a flag pole 3 times in a match lol.

I honestly think Crysis 1 is overrated. It was a great game in its time no doubt about that. But installing it and playing it today is a chore. In terms of gameplay it feels dated especially after playing Crysis 3. Like having to choose speed just to sprint, continuously selecting suit powers and spending way too much time scouting around. The AI also feels a bit retarded in many occassions (especially the alien AI that does nothing but rush you).
All said and done, apart from graphical prowess and some open world vehicular warfare/environments, Crysis 1 has nothing more on Crysis 3. Crysis 3 is superior from a gameplay, gunplay, story telling, and graphical standpoint. Heck even, Farcry 3 has Crysis 1 beat from a gameplay standpoint and to a large extent also in graphics department.
Crysis 1 is no longer a benchmark for me at least.

From CAG:
30% off in the Origin Store for both physical and digital copies. $41.99
http://store.origin.com/store/ea/en_...TKTF7Gu0P0363Q
Better then most of the key sites.
I'm still on the fence.

Farcry 3, once the world opens up after mission 1 or 2 just leaves you to do whatever the hell you like and in whatever order. Crysis had no such thing.
