Probably needs a game restart for textures to change. But tbh you dont need to lower texture quality in this day and age (unless c3 really makes use of 3gb gpus??). Nor does textures lower fps for anyone. So really, if one is after high fps run the game at low with high textures and 1xSMAA/FXAA - will look better than anything out there anyway and perform great (i assume).
Thats good optimization IMO.

Very high does have some strong hints of optimized for future systems though, just like crysis 1, it has spots where it is 100% cpu limited, so they probably went overboard with the draw calls again.
I'm trying to get it from CDKeyshere as I've bought from them before and they have it for cheaper but I can get their phone verification system to send me a text.

I'm guessing it hasn't been released yet.
Isn't the release date for the "Key" sites like 2/23?
I only played for about an hour last night, but on Very High settings with minor tweakage (like getting rid of motion blur, which I don't like) I got solid framerates even with the rain and ocean. Very playable.
Basic specs:
i7 950 no OC, GTX 680, and 6Gb ram. Playing at 1920x1080.

I'm getting a strange frame drop during cut-scenes. Its corresponding to my gpu usage dropping to the high teens when it happens . Guess we need a better sli profile? Gpu temps are fine.

I get about 35 fps on the first map, with everything on very high, except shadows and shadowing which are se to high, smaa1x, 1080p.
If I bump eveything on very high I get 25 fps max.
I think its acceptable performance considering the eye candy, I was expecting much worse.
What I don't like so far : mouse movement.
What I like: the bow.
So if I put my nose against the wall in this game, does it go all blurry?

where is all the performance draining to, did they add a hole lot of blur and vaseline smears to the game that use 75% of the gpu to post process? some sort of DOF techniques that half the fps or wha?

For me the greatest killers of FPS are (in this order) TXAA, MSAA (which does jack ****), shadows, shading quality.
The rest of the settings don't have such a huge impact. Those however are complete and utter rape.
If you can downsample, DO IT.
It doesn't matter how it runs, just do it, run an exterior level, and set it to 1600p or whatever your monitor can handle.
It's absolutely incredible.

thats actually horrible optimization. optimization involves not tanking performance due to draw calls because the rate at which future cpus will alleviate that bottleneck is incredibly slow. also where is the tessellation in this game?

ok, only played up thru the fields level which seemed to be level 2. didnt notice any and i went out of my way to check areas that would commonly benefit

Well did some tests tonight to find out GPU usage for the EVGA 680 Classified TRI-SLI setup and my findings are poor.
GPU Average Use = 43% across all 3 GPU's. Spikes into the low 80's but rarely above 45%.
Memory Use = Max used 1924MB, never above, that means out of the 4GB available it has not reached half.....
I thought it might be throttling bout checked into temp and voltage, never above 65c, GPU boost showing all three cards boosting to 1200+MHz.
Performance is pretty bad at Very High Settings SMAA 1x or MGPU SMAA 2x, even with AA disabled there is barely a change. Bad optimizations or bad driver? Who knows.

edit - LOL, actually it runs pretty damn solid with a locked 30fps. All settings maxed, running smaa 2x, very high texture resolution. Doing the Welcome to the Jungle mission, solid 30fps without the normal issues usually associated with running a pc game at 30fps.
