I just hope the sp campaign is fun to play, crytek and mp=failure.

They will drop support for c3 in 2-3 months and move onto warfail.

But if you liked the mp in Crysis 2, you will probably find the mp in Crysis 3 fun to play, since it is very similar.

The hunter mode is kind of fun, but the map you play it on kind of looks like something you would expect out of an UE3 title.

It does look better, but it has the grey ut3/gears of war look

this level looks much better visually than the plane level imo. runs a good deal slower tho

Seems like another case of "improved graphics" console port where all the computing power is wasted on slapped on post-processing effects instead of better quality assets like models, textures, material shaders etc. just like in BF3.

Even with the new betas, it runs poorly on my rig: 30 fps or less on the very high preset / 40 fps or less on the high preset, in both cases with AA off.
For the museum map take those figures and decrease another 5 fps on average.

I dislike the mouse movement as well, it seems like I'm playing the game on Onlive or something, it's just not...snappy enough.

For that performance I don't think it looks that good, or rather I've played better or on par looking games which ran MUCH better, like for instance, Crysis 2.

I suppose I could fiddle with the video settings and find the sweet spot for better fps, but...I don't see much reason for it, tbh.
At any rate, if the final build runs like this, and has that amazing mouse movement, I'm not buying it.

thats always claimed jim. lost planet is still the only beta/demo i remember where performance wasnt 100% indicative of the final game. in that game the final product ran a whopping 4 or 5% faster

Played both modes and for the 1st 5 mins or so, had no idea what the goal of hunter was. Crash site is pretty dull. The mp feels off and kinda dull.

I personally think it looks worse then Crysis 2.
I also get odd lines around objects in certain areas that I haven't seen in a game sense the roots on some of the trees in I think it was Crysis Warhead.

On the plus side though it runs well.

In 2009 crytek said they learned from cryengine and wouldnt repeat that, instead make it more accessible.

Crysis (VRAM bandwidth heavy) and Metro2033 (VRAM bandwidth + shader heavy) were one of those typical examples where AMD 79xx series excel.
Heck, in Crysis, 7950 is pretty much on par with 680.

(in regards to crysis) As soon as 4x MSAA is turned on, the 680 is 7fps avg ahead of a 7970 and also has a 8 fps higher minimum framerate. Now these are using the 13.1 drivers, Im curious how much the 13.2 drivers would help

Basically my philosophy with everything related to the gaming industry these days. I simply will not pay full price for something that is by all probable reasoning either bug-ridden, of poor quality, or both.

I don't think it will be bug ridden. I thoroughly enjoyed Crysis 2 but then again I pre-ordered it for 31 bucks from g2play.net (back when their prices made sense). If I can get a similar deal with Crysis 3 I am golden. My interest is only SP campaign and knowing what these guys did with Crysis Warhead and Crysis 2, it won't be longer than 7 hours. Not paying 60 bucks for 7 hours.

The funny thing is that it was not cryteks fault, it was nvidia who messed up with their profile, as usual.

They did not have the beta executable attached to the crysis 3 profile.

The whole 360 thing was suppose to be a joke. Guess people took it and ran with it? Besides, the players usually happen upon better sli bits on our own . Here is a link to a comparison of the 360/pc graphics for those interested in things like that :P.
