I've decided that if I'm not having fun and it doesn't look like I will be any time soon, I shouldn't spend my christmas holiday that way. Hollow Knight and Age of Empires 4, both cool games, uninstalled for now.

Started on Plague Tale: Innocence instead. First impression: anyone comparing this to The Last of Us should play Ico and compare it to that instead. It'll still fall short, but at least you wouldn't be comparing puzzle and action games. Plus, Plague Tale is obviously a AA title that technically falls short of any AAA+ title.

wow, Ico, that's been a while, 2001 if i remember correctly.

Plague Tale is long gone, an interesting experience but not much more than that for me. I've now started on Sable, which should be somewhat similar in that it has exceptional inspiration it probably cannot match (Breath of the Wild, in this case), but that should spark a lot of joy along the way nonetheless. The Game Pass really is an excellent way to try out typical AA games without spending €20 on a hunch that it might be well-spent.

Well, that lasted no more than a few hours. The game has stuttering issues that are widely reported but not fixed, including an uneven frame rate and stuttering audio. Besides that the camera and animation frequently get wonky. At its core it's a relaxing, welcoming game, but technical issues plague it. I was having fun ánd being annoyed, and one of my gaming new year resolutions is to stick to games that I really enjoy.

          So, cute but gone.

Sable is pretty meh. Finished the AC Odyssey free dlc finally. Now on to part 2 of it with valhalla.

              Finished COD V SP1. Had a blast.
I am considering BF2042 finished as well as I don’t see myself playing it much beyond this point. A damn shame IMO.

Finished Dying Light, it only took me 7 years.

And I have no idea why I dropped it in the first place, oh well, time to play the expansion.

Hope you liked the game. the expansion is even better! Better again if you are one of the one who liked the characters and story.

I did, that is why I am so confused about why I stopped playing it back in 2015.

About 3/4 of the way through Days Gone. Man, what a great game.

Got to the credits of Hitman 3, which means I've played about 1% of its offering. It felt short, but in IO fashion, really cool. I definitely want to play some of the Escalation missions!

                          Finished The following.

It was different, it was fun moving down zombies with the buggy, but I wish it had more parkour elements.

I think I will hold off on playing/buying Dying Light 2, I need to play something different before resuming zombie parkouring again.

The Xbox app is meh, launching the game was tedious, occasional CTD crashes are baffling. So, I'll return to Hitman 3 later, but it's gone for now.

Apparently, I'm a very slow learner. I loved Assassin's Creed 1/2/Brotherhood/Revelations, and I loved Origins/Odyssey. But I couldn't get into AC: Unity when I played it in '16, and I couldn't get into Black Flag just over a year ago. Yet here I am, trying to get into AC: Unity, again. The goal was to get to know Paris a bit better, as I'll be flash-visiting in two weeks' time. And what do you know, I'm having fun. I guess all I needed was a little extra motivation.

It's still a buggy, broken mess though. Ubisoft did well to leave the old AC template behind.

Jump from a Synchronize point tower, high up from the ground. The game doesn't understand and Arno gladly jumps to his death, instead of into the haystack right next to my now lifeless body.

Jump toward a window in a chase. Arno decides that climbing around the window is a good way to give chase to someone. Takes his sweet time figuring out through the window is faster.

Jump from basically anywhere to basically anywhere, and it's hit-or-miss far too often.

Button mashing QTEs with a high chance of failure, because... Really... You're not pressing fast enough. Oh what joy.

If you go into the Death of Kings DLC mission, which is meant for end-game level characters, then good luck getting back out again. No way to simply abandon a mission and return to Paris, you have to beat the mission, even though your character is ill-prepared for it. No warnings of course - just restarts on inevitable failure.

Boss fight, possibly mid-game, was working reasonably... Until the boss character disappears, jumps out of the sky and insta-kills me.

Not to mention the many bugs and glitches that plague the game, especially in animation. I've rarely stuck this long with a AAA game that so obviously needed more time in the kitchen. I really, really tried to bite through the many frustrating elements of Assassin's Creed Unity, but it's getting ridiculous. How this game got any reasonable reviews at the time, is hard to understand - anyone spending more than five hours with the game is very likely to find it frustrating at every turn, despite the pretty graphics.

I've come this far and I'll see it through, but more out of spite than anything else.

All of the ac games (except origin cause i have not played it, so i dont know first hand) are riddled with bugs. People just ignore so much bullshit because fun equals amazeballs and game of the year. The brand sell way more than the games do these days, so they have no reason to bother with proper quality control either. Peoples tolerance of bugs is entirely dependant on game company too.

I admire, but don't demand, perfection from my games. As an AC fan, I think so long as the game is fun and not frustrating, I can forgive it for having bugs. But ACU's frustrating gameplay (such as missed jumps, sluggish controls and instadeaths) is a much worse offense than the many (animation) glitches of the series as a whole.

Finished Halo Infinite, it's definitely the best playing halo, but it was a bit lacking in the mission design.

I still had a great time playing it though, I hope 343 doesn't kill off the bad guy off screen this time.

They seem to love doing that.

From a story point of view PC gamers got shafted that Halo 5 was never ported. You start Infinite a little clueless thanks to that. Still liked the game.

You don't really miss that much by not playing 5, as they resolved that whole conflict off screen, just like they did with halo 4.

Finished Cyberpunk 2077. I thought it was a great game, but I definitely didn't like the way my path through the story ended. I'll probably play through the final missions again and make different choices to get a better, happier ending.
