playing some more Tails of Iron and getting my ass handed over, especially by the bosses. The game is tough, like.. really. But in a good way.

played some Unmetal, well, that's a funny game. Highly recommended.

Nearly finished Lost in Random, which I've enjoyed more than expected. Basically a more gothic version of Alice in Wonderland with tactical+real-time combat and a strong numbers theme.

yeah it was a great ride, loved the visuals, had a lot of Tim Burton vibes to it

I finally got around to Rage. Really liking it, bit like Borderlands, but still fun so far.

Finished the first Max Payne last week. Thought it was a replay for me but found out I had never finished the game before. Only remembered the first 1/4 of the game and the rest was new to me. Anyway, loved it.

Currently playing Life is Strange: True Colors and next will probably play Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne.

Finished Rage. Bit shorter than I expected, thought after I carried out the 'mission', there would be more but ...... credits. Oh well, solid 8 game.

Playing through Halo 5 to prepare for Halo: Infinite.

I've gotten to Meridian. Streaming a shooter through Xbox Game Pass Cloud so I can play it with a gamepad isn't ideal of course, but it's functional. I'm having fun, though I wish some cinematics and animations would blend with gameplay. Most strikingly, both introductions to Blue Team and Team Osiris would've been so much cooler, if they'd blended from cinematic Spartan ass-kicking to gameplay. Instead, it's all "show and tell", while the player sits back and does nothing.

Played through Blaster Master Zero 2. It's a continuation of Blaster Master Zero, which was a remake of the NES Blaster Master.

It's basically more of the same. Decently fun if you liked the original game. But lacks the nostalgia. Seemed a lot more childish, with a lot of cutesy anime-style characters. Same problems of the Blaster Master Zero. A lot of unnecessary dialogue, and ridiculously easy. This one lacks the very hard mode, so it was a lot shorter game.

I think I am on the last level of Kena boner of spirits. Game is dope af and boss fights are satisfyingly annoying. I think I tried about 20 times to kill the woodcutter boss. That bitch was bouncing around like it had Parkinson’s but while holding a hammer that made fire rings.

Will try to wrap this up soon.

Also started Scarlett Nexus and after 30 mins was genuinely intrigued as to wtf is this crap. Promptly going to uninstall that garbage.

Also started some space game on game pass called Edge something. However, got stuck because the only instruction is build some crap that the developer wants. I don’t know wtf that is talking about so might use a walkthrough with that one.

Also doing missions in Farcry 6. Game is dope for just shooting stuff like a homicidal maniac. And also getting to say cabrone, puta, maricon to every gueiya that you find. Other than that I wouldn’t pay more than 30 for it.

Breathedge by any chance? If so, it's a cool game, and yes, not much handhelding in this one which actually makes it fun. Of course not for everyone

Finished Halo 5. The mediocre reviews were kind to it. In terms of gameplay, some interesting ideas work out well, turning Knights and Hunters into mini boss fights. I really like that some enemies do take a beating, even from Spartans, before they succumb. Having a team of Spartans around you is interesting at best - I used the revival mechanic like a whore, even on Normal. Other than that, it feels like they're just... "There". The Spartan allies don't feel overly useful. As for the basic "30 seconds of fun" combination of Halo's moment-to-moment mechanics, that hasn't changed much from the solid foundation of previous games.

But then we get to storytelling, level design and production quality, three things where the Bungie Halos did very well. And that's where 343 looks absolutely amateur compared to other flagship studios. I'm uneasy criticizing jobs I could never do myself, but I find it very easy to compare Halo 5 to other AAA games like Star Wars: Fallen Order, The Last of Us 2, God of War and Assassin's Creed. Halo *should* be among those heavy hitters, on all levels. But it doesn't even come close. Sony's exclusives are prettier, better designed, and better produced. There's more quality animation to any single in-game scene in TLOU2 than there is in all of Halo 5's in-game scenes. There's a better mix of gameplay and cinematics to Fallen Order's first half hour, than there is to any part in Halo 5. God of War and Assassin's Creed feel awesome and grand in scope. Halo 5 feels, comparatively, limited on all accounts.

I appreciate 343's love for the franchise, but as a flagship studio they absolutely fall short. I hope they knock it out of the park with Halo Infinite - third time's the charm - but I'm not overly hopeful.

(Also: started playing Star Wars: Fallen Order. First impressions are good.)

Finally beat It Takes Two with my friend and enjoyed it overall. But I will say that I thought it could have used a lot of cutting down. It has tons of variety but also lots of filler and I think it gets a bit too random at times (e.g. orchestra in heaven). 7.5/10

loved it, it's definitely one of the better co-op games out there. Had a blast, especially when played with your SO. Reminded me a lot of Little Big Planet, which is pure mayhem when played with 4 people.

Finished the wavelengths DLC for True Colors. Gotta say it was awesome! Funny and smart writing, well above most games. Activities were not exactly exciting but it has some good tunes to chill out to. I suspect some might not like it though because you spend the whole time in the music store and nobody comes to visit (it's just DJing, talking on the phone, doing tasks around the store etc). Over 3 hours though so was a good length.

Edit: Just finished Shadow of the Tombraider again and will be trying to attempt Resident Evil 6 for the umpteenth time.

I spent some time over the weekend getting into HZD, but man it does not have the combat gameplay depth and/or challenge anywhere close to Nioh. Also I really miss the loot and inventory management systems of Nioh. Of course I know its a different style of game. HZD is a much more laid back and relaxing gameplay style. But I'm afraid its going to be too much of a drag to play right after Nioh, and make me give it up.

Its sad, because I can tell its a good game but its such a giant step down after playing Nioh. That said, pretty much any game at this point would be - except maybe Elden Ring but that's not available yet.

Have to say I am a bit tempted to grab Nioh 2 to satiate my undying appetite for Nioh. I have to resist though and stick to the plan > HZD, then Elden Ring, THEN Nioh 2.

I spent some time over the weekend getting into HZD, but man it does not have the combat gameplay depth and/or challenge anywhere close to Nioh. Finally cleaned house and just disassembled anything that wasn't divine. Still looking like a noob wearing Warrior of the West stuff cause good lord nothing else is dropping. Love every revenant I summon has it with the big dippy helmet. Good thing is, most just spam the same attack so easy to Backwave them to death. I'm sure my revenant is just as braindead as I try to parry a lot, which they seem to... not do. Freaking sword combo kick is too strong.

Last time I tried it the first boss would one shot me with pretty much any of his attacks. Did not make for a fun time.

Bosses definitely are a little more tuned as well. Thinking of the lighting spear guy in the first one that would insta headbutt you or use the 1 hit KO AoE lighting spear with absolutely no windup. Also here's a pro-tip if you do pick it up, Sacred Water will be your friend in the first map. About all I'm gonna say about that.

I definitely recommend doing some Way of the Strong missions to try and gather some divine equipment before doing the DLC. But you only need it for the DLC #1. You will be getting a bunch of good divine equipment (with + values) in DLC #2. Also try to soul match your stuff with divine equipment with + values to level it up some.

Also I recommend selling any non-divine equipment you don't want rather than disassemble. You are going to need the gold for reforging and you should only be working with divine shards for materials at this point. But of course disassemble any unwanted divine equipment for shards which grant chance for better stats while forging/reforging. But just ignore if you already know this!

Yes that fight is a real PITA, and kind of a rare poorly/unfair designed fight IMO. My issue with him is he's a big monster boss that has the aggression and moveset design of a smaller humanoid boss. His attacks are just too broad sweeping and he's too tough to get in close to. Once you get past him though the DLC boss fights get more sensible.
