played a bit more of Black Skylands. Not bad, it has this "just one more round"-feeling to it.

Completed Resident Evil 8 (Village), and it felt pretty much exactly like the last few (modern) RE titles. If you liked those, then you will like Village. Nothing more needs to be said, it's the exact same gameplay/formula.
You should complete RE 7 before playing it though, as the stories are connected.
I think they realized a lot of people don't like the "invincible bad guy chasing you around the level for hours" shtick, seeing how popular the mods to get rid of those in the recent games were, so while this game did feature that in some sections it was much less prevalent.[Proc: Ryzen 9 7900x][GPU: MSI RTX3060Ti 8GB][Mem: 64GB G.Skill RipJaws 6000-DDR5][Mobo: MSI Pro X670-P][HD: Samsung 2TB NVMe 980 Pro][PSU: EVGA SuperNova 850W G2][Audio: Yamaha RX-V673 7.2/JBL 7.2 Surround]

Played some Omno, for a 1 dev game very impressive, sadly it's a very short game (around 3-4 hours) but still a neat, visual attractive platformer. Liked it a lot.
Played "through" Kingdom Builders, well, through what there's currently to play. It has potential, i do like the art style, but there's honestly not much to do right now.
Back to Black Skylands.

Continuing to play Valheim as a relaxing game in-between tense sessions of action games or racing games. I've built multiple large bases and buildings, in several different biomes. Currently on a quest to get a boatload of iron back to my main base. The swamp is located right next to plains, so it's dangerous, and the sunken crypts are pretty far inland, so it's far from a boat. Got the thing loaded up though, so now it's just a matter of sailing it all the way back!May the Yods be silent

played Rustler for a bit, it's hilarious. Really. A bit buggy on the edges, but i've had more than one good laugh with it

Turns out that putting Destiny 2 in the backlog was not a good idea, the OG campaign isn't even in the game anymore, so no need to keep this mofo on my ssd.Never put off tomorrow what you can put off today!

There is one major difference that I know of though, AV2=melee, AV1=pew pew.

As for AV1, the general combat is your standard 2D Metroid stuff, but its true with the boss fights. So far at 5 bosses in they are a bit underwhelming. Most of the time its more about finding an exploit than tense edge of your seat action. The exploration and puzzle element of finding the next way forward is what keeps my attention.

Played through Blaster Master Zero. It's an Inti Creates remaster of Blaster Master from the NES.
While the overall gameplay and levels feel familiar, they really changed quite a bit. The NES game just had you go through a level in your jumping tank as a side-scroller, find these little dungeons where you'd fight these boss in a top-down view, and get a new item sort of Metroidvania style to give you access to the next area. If you knew where the boss was, there was no reason to go into the other dungeons.
The remake adds a map with markers and a whole bunch of optional bosses to give you a ton of powerups. If you collect the powerups you get an extra level with a true ending that the NES didn't have.
The big issue, is the game is just way too easy. The NES game was hard as hell. In this version you gain so many powerups and your weapon in the top-down view can be so overpowered that every boss is a joke.
And there is no punishment for dying. You just go back to your last save point with full life. They add a ton of dialog, of which the NES version had none.
They also changed most of the boss fights. In fact, the boss that is on the box art from the NES game isn't even in this version.
It's still decently fun, but beating the game just had no real challenge.
After you beat the game, there is an ultra-hard destroyer mode. But, it is difficult in an annoying way. Enemies fire off a bullet on death, which is a pain at first but gets easy to dodge. And in the top-down view most enemies can only be hurt by one weapon type and it's usually the shitty basic gun you start with. Since they have a lot more health, boss battles take a long time and are quite difficult.
But, again, there is no penalty for dying. So you can just keep banging your head against the wall until you beat it. In some places it's easier just to kill yourself when you hit a savepoint so you have full health again.

Completed The Forgotten City (the standalone game, not the skyrim mod). Went in completely blind and enjoyed it from start to finish. Like most dialogue based games, knowledge is your weapon and gameplay focuses on using your knowledge to manipulate characters into doing the things you want them to, such as divulging information, giving you items, completing quests and unraveling the primary mystery of the game.
It very elegantly solves one of the problems facing time-loop games, by putting a procedure in place so you don't have to repeat the same actions/dialogue/quests over and over. This was much appreciated in light of other recent time-loop games such as the recently released '12-minutes' which suffered from not having a similar solution in place.
Even though the game was relatively short there was still enough character development per character that getting the 'good ending' was very satisfying. Really glad I didn't play the skyrim mod, as going in blind is the best way to enjoy this kind of game, and my time with it was quite fulfilling.[Proc: Ryzen 9 7900x][GPU: MSI RTX3060Ti 8GB][Mem: 64GB G.Skill RipJaws 6000-DDR5][Mobo: MSI Pro X670-P][HD: Samsung 2TB NVMe 980 Pro][PSU: EVGA SuperNova 850W G2][Audio: Yamaha RX-V673 7.2/JBL 7.2 Surround]
