    Finished Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice.

I returned the borrowed VR headset, otherwise I'd have tried Hellblade in VR. Curious to know what that's like though - is it just the main game, but in first person or something? I saw that it doesn't use the VR controllers, just the regular gamepad / mkb.

Probably like Skyrim VR on PS4... VR is only for mouse look. Works very well !

Played Death Stranding. Can't believe this postal/mailing game actually got me hooked. In chapter 3 now, and almost 18 hours of game time.

            Because it's not just a postal/mailing game.

            It's a really really good postal/mailing game.

Leveled a max block gladiator to L98 in Path of Exile Heist league. For once I didn't follow a build guide and just made my own tree. The league mechanic had high production quality but the gameplay itself didn't feel too great to play because of all the doors. For years now the PoE playerbase been asking GGG to implement the auto-opening doors from Incursion league into the base game, that should have been a hint that they hate the clunkiness of constantly having to click to open doors.

Went with dual wield for the higher dps, didn't bother with counters or on block effects. Did T16 juiced maps fine, though it was a bit slower paced due to using kaoms boots for stun immunity and the difficulty of getting high dps with max block builds. Still hit about 2-3mil dps, which wasn't bad at all for having 79/79 block.

though you'll need the PoB-Fork for it to work.

                        79 isnt max block

also, did you run the reduced damage blocked but double block chance? If you are just using it for defense, getting 50% block chance and running that node is better i think.

Since they nerfed that node (glancing blows) a couple leagues back I don't see many builds using it. It might be viable depending on your build's other defenses, something to experiment with in the future.

Since 75/75 is the default block cap, imo anything equal or above can call itself 'max block'. Trying to pushing the block cap too high has downsides (like lowering your DPS), unless you've got mirror tier gear.

                                    Finished two games:

Clive Barker's Undying and The Two Colonels (Metro Exodus DLC).

First time playing Clive Barker's Undying. I did play the demo when it was released back in 2001 but never the full game. I loved the demo and wanted to try the full game. I thought the game was good. Maybe I'd have a better impression of it if I actually played it back when it was released in 2001. Also, I enjoyed the parts that look place in the mansion more than the parts that took place outside in other areas of the "world." If the whole game took place in the mansion (something like the first Resident Evil game), I'm sure I would have liked it more.

The Two Colonels DLC for Metro Exodus was pretty awesome. More cuts scenes than gameplay (if I am not mistaken) but still really liked it.

Undying was both pretty great story wise and actually pretty scary back then. Nothing compared to everything we've had since then though. It's like half life. Doesnt seem all that impressive now, but when it first came out, wow, what a fantastic game.

Finished Resident Evil 3: Remake. While I did have fun, I did not enjoy it as much as RE2: Remake. I am glad I did not pay full whack for it as it is far too short for my liking (7 hours compared to 25 hours when I first played RE4), and there are some annoyances that make it look as if it was rushed.

I hope they put more effort into the next remake.

Finished up Jedi: Fallen Order so that I can put it away and concentrate on Cyberpunk. Very satisfying.... a worthy successor to the KotoR series. I've got to say, my heart skipped a beat with the surprise cameo.

Some of those fights are HARD, even at the Jedi Knight level. Clearly I suck too much to even consider Jedi Master.

Finished new dawn for the same reasons, and finishing fallen order next. New dawn was pretty fun mostly, i did have a couple rages due to the ai and playing on the hardest difficulty, but i quite enjoyed the game and even though the characters were ****, i was following along the story too.... until

What the **** was with that derby mission and then the two final bosses after that? The twins boss was OK, though the 4 hour long exposition was ****ing stupid and so was the decision. The derby though and the final final boss... what the actual ****?

The derby had to be one of the stupidest ****ing missions i have ever seen in any game. The premises was fine and made sense sure, but did they even understand their own ai? Who the **** programed that ****?
Every aspect of it was retarded.

First and foremost. You are meant to be disguised as one of them, and in game lore has you successful at it, they all think you are just another one of the gang.... yet every single npc in the race and on the walls literally ONLY SHOOTS AT YOU...
You start the death race, and you are lucky just to not die instantly as two motor bikes and the tractor both just turn and auto open fire on you instead of actually racing. If you sruvive by killing them or driving around the first corner, you still have to stop and make sure you kill them quickly as the car you are in is paper and both you and the ai can all shoot through it from any angle. You can actually get out of the car and shoot enemies through it on the other side of it....

So if anyone is behind you, you HAVE to stop and kill them or just die. But you also ave to be lucky to not die to the enemies on the walls while you do it. Then you can actually get in the car and drive off finally. This proccess alone is half my deaths. Next part is a little easier simply because you spame healing while driving, but its still 50/50 whther you heal, or die.

Then you discover actually killing any enemies just moves the derby forward, it doesnt actually help in any way as more enemies (not including the story ones) just spawn in anyway.

Then if you happen to survive up to the point. it doesnt matter, as the boss of the derby is a giant armoured truck with a turret on the top. if it spawns behind you its garenteed death. If it spawns in front, you have to somehow kill everyone else first, while not getting hit by the gun, so that yo can the focus on it.

I died to this sequence... not just more times then i died all game... but 4 times more than i died all game. Even when i dropped it to easy, i still died twice before finally the truck got stuck and i could shoot the gunner with ease. Finally won the derby by just getting out of the car, and climbing up onto the wall and sniping the remaingin drivers...

Up goes the difficulty again. Then the twins boss was a bitch and was a little stupid, but i did it. Only with the help of the tank partner npc though, who could actually revive me the five or six times i needed during the fight.

But then the final boss.... wtf. It was both easy and stupidly hard at the same time. You litterally just ran in circes in a small circula cavern until it stopped chasing you so you could turn, and empty a clip into its massive health pool, then repeated that, but if it hit you once, you died and did it all over again. That was by design...

Who ever design the last 3 missions in this game, couldnt have had any part in the rest of it... it was so friggen idiotic.

                                            Anyone else have similar troubles?

Haha I actually didn’t play it on full retard difficulty because I knew from my FC5 experience that full retard difficulty in a Far Cry game just flat out sucks.

Also the last mission was so bad with the two bitches on your ass. It took me a lot of hiding and cheese to kill the second one. Also both of them had super speed.

The derby was easy after I alt f4'd as soon as it started as I had silenced pistol(slow and crap damage) and got the grenade launcher instead.

Playing through Echo. Interesting concept: the AI learns your moves, then copies them. Stop doing those things, it forgets them. Throughout the whole game, you're looping between play styles to push forward, with the occasional puzzle even involving teaching the enemy AI specific things so they can unlock doors or lifts for you.

There's a bunch of lore hidden throughout the game and its story as well, but I feel the drip feed pace is a bit too slow to really be invested in the story and characters.

Still, cool concept. I hope to finish it today.

I did leave Mr Seed screaming to die and walked off. That is what he gets for annoying me during the previous farcry (though he was kind ok in this one)

The attacking bases, road wars (hijacking stuff) and expeditions were fun , the story missions were meh.

Like the previous Farcry they force you to do the last thing you want to do in a situation.

Pretty much the exact formula since farcry 3.

Finished Everything which is one of the weirdest "games" I've played. Basically a strange look at everything from the small to the large and it allows you to go up and down the size levels. Ambitious but without real gameplay. The narrator is pretentious too.

Halo 4 was decent. Lots of variety and alright vehicle sections. Cortana's blue mammaries are a good memory and her blue ass is all class. Story crumbles away and it does get too formulaic with its action in the latter parts and the final boss 'battle' is appalling.

AER: Memories of Old is not a bad little adventure game with graphics not too dissimilar to Grow Up. Sort of meditative in some respects. Fly over world islands and then explore some tombs.

The first generation: falling in love
Assassin's Creed: finished it on Xbox 360 back in 2007. Loved it, warts and all.
Assassin's Creed 2: finished it on Xbox 360 in 2009, again on PC in 2013. One of my favorite games ever.
Assassin's Creed 2 Brotherhood: finished it on X360 in 2010. One of my favorite games ever. (Strange that I only finished it the one time.)
Assassin's Creed Revelations: finished it on PC in 2011, again in 2014.

The next generation: a failed marriage
Assassin's Creed 3: bought it in 2013, played for a few hours, but it couldn't hold me. It wasn't a good AC game, so I left it.
Assassin's Creed Black Flag: bought it in 2014, a few months after Revelations. Played it for a few hours, but it couldn't hold me, and I left it, despite the praise it got. Having left AC3 ánd Black Flag, AC and I were apparently on a break.
Assassin's Creed Unity: tried it in 2016, stuck with it for a few hours, left it. AC and I had had a divorce.
Assassin's Creed Syndicate: skipped this one entirely. I own it, probably because it came with Odyssey or something, but I've never played it.

The RPG generation: getting back together again
Assassin's Creed Origins: not the best game I've ever played, but it did have me hooked in 2018 - the first new Assassin's Creed game to do so in seven years.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey: not the best game I've ever played, but it had me hooked again earlier this year.

                                                              Let's try this again
Figured I'd try again, now that AC and I are back together again. So I've started playing the best AC game I never liked: Black Flag. Back to the old school mechanics, the straight forward Assassinating, pre-Witcher AC. So far so good: I like it when it sets me loose, and I'll have to suffer through the out-of-Animus sections I guess. Who knows, if I can see it through this time, I might see about revisiting Paris and going to London...

I bought Airborne Kingdom and played it for an hour and a half. The concept is cool, the style is really cool, I can easily recommend it as a city builder with a twist. A breath of fresh air, you could say.

However, I wasn't liking the wandering as much, thought the interface could use a few hints here and there. Would be nice, for instance, if the names of the Kingdoms you encounter would hover over said kingdoms, so you've got some references on the map. All in all, it was a bit slower than I felt like playing, so I chose to refund it. Cool game though, just not what I'm going for at the moment.

Instead, I fired up Hitman 2. I really, really, really loved Hitman 2016 and played all the side missions. That was a big undertaking, so I didn't feel like returning to the Hitman gameplay for quite a while - I finished H2016 in August of 2017. It's been long enough, so I'm diving into the world of Hitman again.

Played the first mission, and though I'm a little rusty, it does feel like a sort of homecoming. IO knows their stuff.
