Finished Borderlands 3 after 61.5 hours. Man this game took quite some time. Gameplay, gun handling, and vehicles feels better. Some weapon have alternate mode so you can have two elemental damage for Maliwan for example, others like Vladof have alternate grenade launcher or something.

Story wise...urgh. Terrible. Like it was made by 15 year old. I felt like new Star Wars as compared to old Star Wars.

Shame about the story. People like to attack Anthony Burch a lot, which is dumb, but the game he was in charge of the story for was the best story out the borderlands games, and his were the best parts of the presequel. I do wish they would have left the guy alone, his personal life isnt anyones business :/

Agreed. Previous BL games wrote by him were great. I don't mind the length of BL2 at all because of it. Finished the game like 4 times on 3 different character, and once including all DLC.

The twin antagonist in 3 trying too hard to become Handsome Jack and fail miserably. And putting too much 'modern culture' (like feminism, meme and whatnot) is very annoying. Just put a bit of it in side quest is fine, but forcing it down the player in main quest is not. I won't be replaying it anytime soon, or at all. Asked my co-op buddies he say the same thing as well, and he is not even finished the game yet.

To make matter worse I have problems playing co-op, SHiFT problems logging in and sending co-op request. When it do log in, it could crash randomly while playing. Sometime for hours sometime within few minutes. The latest pacth doesnt help either.

I played alone today because of that login and request problems (tried like 10 times, same as yesterday). I played Torgue Circle of Slaughter 3000 up to level 3 before I got tired and frustrated. Previous CoS is not as tough as this, coupled with healing character that can also fight offensively just isnt fair.

Only just finished Demon's Souls on PC using the Rpcs3 emulator (I have a PS3 also as well as digital copy of game). Very enjoyable, managed to turn all worlds pure white and do all events as well as do a few pure black events like getting that magic/miracle talisman.

I had the opportunity to import game when it initially came out. I am glad I am able to enjoy it now.

Finished Doom Eternal in Hurt Me Plenty difficulty. Here is my small rant on it.

Platforming in this game is RIDICULOUS. Feels like monkey on acid trip with guns. Platforming on open spaces is fine, then platforming in closed spaces, then add some radiation spill and hell fire, throw in some Mario ring of fire as well. Just WTF? There are sewer level with radiation dump (an excuse to put radiation suit in it), with puzzles as well. They really put EVERYTHING in this game. Stupid if you asked me.

Weapon micromanagement is another of this game weakness, they put very VERY low ammo count to force you to use chainsaw more often to drop ammo. Stupid mechanics, as it ruins your pacing during fights as you need to jump-shoot-dash-shoot-switchweapon-shoot some more then pause to chainsaw for ammo, the repeat bazillion time. Even fully upgraded shotgun only carry 24 shells. To make matter worse your normal punches deals ZERO damage now. You cant punch to stagger fodder enemies anymore. Suddenly the Godlike Doomslayer throw pussy punches They probably dislike poeple abusing infinite ammo pistol, and I'm fine with it, but even nerfing punches is downright silly.

They introduce flamethrower to drop armor shard, and ice thrower(?) to freeze demons while you jumping and dashing around like monkey dealing with heavies, throwing flame on it to drop armor while you chainsaw the fodder to get ammo. Those are the GAME MECHANICS and MICROMANAGEMENT you do the whole entire game. It gets tiresome.

They try to put some backstory of it of how Doomguy is Doomslayer. For me its ok and put down some questions of who is this guy really is.

Adding cheat codes is great, unlock those and use it to progress if you hate dying because stuck on wall, low on ammo etc. Still, you will git gud eventually so this don't add much to gameplay.

Graphics was gorgeous, it runs buttery smooth too. Only a couple of places where my frame drop below my refresh rate (75Hz). Most of the time it ran above 100fps using GTX1070 at 1080p Ultra Nightmare setting.

At most I give it 5/10. Just too much of things don't make it great. Like putting tons of stuff on pizza don't make it delicious.

Upgraded from a 1060 3GB to a 1080 8GB, started playing Robo Recall. It reminds me of those Virtua Cop games from the 90s. Teleporting feels similar to being on rails. Fun to tear apart enemies or to just blast at them with two shotguns.

Coming from Boneworks, it takes a little getting used to the switch in mechanics and physics. No need to reload, much less need to aim down the sights of guns. Feels weird that my hands clip through each other and stuff like that.

How is Animal Crossing? I read its similar to Harvest Moon? Thinking of playing it..

After finishing Doom Eternal and finishing it again with BFG plus infinite ammo, I mostly played Gran Turismo 4 using PCSX2 emulator. Thinking of buying wheels but since my pay is getting 20% cut I don't think I can afford to do that

Let us know how big it is, and whether it's worth buying as a stand alone game without the other two parts when you finish please!

Im on the fence aand thinking about just waiting till all three are out.

Completed Bloodborne for the first time, 10/10 masterpiece but everyone knows this already. The game does have a couple minor issues (eg. the lock on system can be a bit wonky occasionally), but they don't detract from the outstanding achievement in gameplay and game design this title is. A decade ago bought a PS3 just to play Demon's Souls, and now bought a PS4 just to play Bloodborne. No regrets.

Though I took two weapons to +10 I decided to complete the whole game using the starter axe/pistol, killed all the bosses except the Moon Presence as this was pretty much a blind playthrough**, so I only had acquired 2 umbilical cords at the end. Lost the third due to the killer NPC and never entered the old workshop.

Looking back at the game now, you can see why they put the mandatory Father Gascoigne fight near the start of the game. Forces players to ditch their passive style of gameplay (esp if they had the Souls 'turtle behind a shield' mindset) and encourages the player to learn how to play aggressively with parries and an offensive style of fighting. He's both a litmust test and a tutorial, learn how to beat him and you have learned what it takes to complete the game.

Will replay it again sometime soon, maybe pick up the DLC, though I'd really like to see a PC release. The console version runs at 30fps with occasional frame pacing issues, and the forced chromatic aberration which you can't disable blurs portions of the image at times.

**watched a couple playthroughs 5 years ago when it was released

Bloodborne is the only Fromsoft Souls-type game I have never played, and this is the main reason why. Every time I start thinking about getting it I think back to the 30 fps thing and just decide I don't want to deal with it.

I played through Demon's Souls all those years ago on PS3 and it was great and all, but since Souls games have regularly been available at 60 fps I have never wanted to go back to a 30 fps Souls game. Sad really, because I know how awesome the game is. I am kind of hoping the PS5 can miraculously run the game at 60 fps with backwards compatibilty, but I know its wishful thinking.

It's between AC Odyssey and Pathfinder Kingmaker. Have a few other rando games I should probably play. Makes no sense my backlog grows during these stupid times..

Little girl gets depression. She starts doing colored farts. Red, green, blue and yellow farts. All of a sudden she feels better. Game over.

Honestly given it was free indie crap I spent some time with it. It is a very easy game to play and has music that is very good. That’s what kept me moving. Also the environments were something new to experience. Overall, it was also just the right size and didn’t overstay it’s welcome.

I gave it a 9/10 since it was much better than some of the other crap I played like Flower, Journey etc. which weren’t very good but were rated 9 etc.

Currently playing Hob which I got free on Epic and I am really enjoying it. The art direction for a 3D game is very impressive and the atmosphere, imagination and tone remind me of dreams and "altered states" I've had when I was younger.

I keep coming back to ploughing nub bitches in MW. Every other game seems crap. Only one I am still contemplating purchasing in RE3.

Also fired up Evil Within and realized why I stopped playing. The game is disgusting.

Tried so many games lately and not enjoying anything including Kingdom Hearts and Nier Automata as well.

Really missing the gameplay in the games.

                                                                    Started playing Half-Life: Alyx.

To my relief, the fact that I'm playing with a relatively out-dated Rift CV1 isn't bothersome at all. Objects in the distance are a little low-res, but it's always clear what's going on. The game looks great, the atmosphere is tense, I'm really enjoying it.

I'll continuously play it with a few questions in mind though. Could this have been a flatscreen Half-Life, is it cool in VR, and does it push the use of VR forward?

Could it have been a flat screen game? Yeah, sort of. It's still a Half-Life game at its core. You move through rooms and shoot aliens and solve puzzles. The Half-Life 2 atmosphere has clearly survived a decade of stasis. But where VR games can have you walk around with a pistol for a long time, such a weapon gets tiresome on a flat screen quickly, because it's not an interesting weapon to play with. That's one example, but I think Half-Life: Alyx in its current form wouldn't have made a fantastic flat screen game. Clearly designed as a VR title (duhh).

So is it cool in VR? Hell yeah it is. The HL style has been perfectly retained, while the focus on a different character and timeline allow for the VR part to change the pace of the game. As with any VR shooter, looking around is cool, aiming and firing guns is far cooler than on a flat screen, the reload procedure is cooler, everything is extremely involving. Those are typical advantages of VR, not specific to Alyx, but Valve has gotten them just as right as any other quality VR title.

Does this game do interesting stuff with VR? The puzzles allow for 3D motion with the controllers, but other than that I've not yet experienced things I haven't seen before in other VR titles. One important thing to note, and I think that's the most important one of all: this looks, feels and plays like a AAA title. Most VR games are indie titles developed by small teams on tight budgets. HL Alyx proves that when a big studio gets their hands on a VR title, they can knock it right out of the park. I hope I'll come across some typical Valve innovations that play with the medium, but until then, I think that Alyx is a fantastic showcase of what happens when a VR title is allowed to be more than a tech demo or indie title.

Thought I was done with the league but seeing how many previously expensive build enabling unique items are now affordable, decided to play a bit more. (the aura stacking exploit builds drove down the prices of every other builds items, ggg won't patch it until league end)

It is the hardest puzzler I've played (harder than The Witness / Antichamber). Now after 20 hours I unlock a new area and the puzzles are insanely difficult to the point where I don't even understand them. I think it's going to be a DNF sadly.

Got rid of Xbox gamepass with the three games installed - Ori and the will of wisps, Dead cells (completed) and Wolf: Youngblood (got only for them fancy trace-raying grafux plus game got quite dull....and unlikable protagonists does not help).

I will get Ori on Steam because I completed and enjoyed the first.
