Finished Far Cry New Dawn. 8.5/10. Took 11 hours but only because I had to do resource hunting to get Elite weaponry. Otherwise I was going to be done at the 9 hour mark.

Was fun. Much better than Far Cry 5 in every way.

I booted up DOOM again. Last time I played it - in 2016 - was on an R9 280X that had trouble handling it. The current 1060 doesn't seem to do that much better: QHD is way out of its league, so I'm at the same resolution but with more detail.

That took a week: done and dusted. My previous playthrough was on Hurt me plenty, but for the true DOOM fan, Ultra Violence is really as low as you're allowed to go before you can say you've finished the game. Feels good to have that out the way.

I'm stalling on starting Dishonored 2. I want to take my time for it, not play in 30 minute stints like you can replaying a straightforward rip and tear shooter. Perhaps tomorrow.

In the meantime, I've made one big step: I may have finally uninstalled Rocket League for good. I realized I was no longer playing out of addiction, but out of boredom instead. Sometimes it's better to be bored than to scratch that itch immediately: now I am free to find other things to experience. Does that mean I might finally go outside again? Probably not.

I found that at some point, you simply run out of quests to do, and the game dries up. Once you've got pretty much every quest marker out of the way, you'll have seen every area of the game and it'll come to an end.

Leveled the Season 8 Fortnite battle pass to level 100.

I'm a very very casual Fortnite player but Epic gave away the S8 pass for free (back when Apex was at the height of it's popularity), so played a bit more than usual this season.

This was my first battle pass experience and it was pretty neat - you get quite a few cosmetics and skins with customizable styles for simply playing the game and doing some quirky challenges. I liked most of this season's skins, most were of high quality with decent customization options.



As for the game itself, the skill ceiling keeps growing to the point where even long term dedicated players are asking for some kind of skill based matchmaking. One day someone will write a book about this, Epic literally 'accidentally stumbled' into the biggest game in history they threw together in a couple months after the single player went bust, and it caters perfectly to both casual and competitive gamers with a unique feature (building) that gives it it's own identity.

Personal log: I've started Dishonored 2. The first hour or so hasn't had me hooked exactly, but I remember Dishonored 1's finest moments took a while to develop too. Having recently fallen in love with Prey (2017) as well, another wonderful game, I'm very much willing to give Dishonored 2 some time to grow on me.

Finished the new Wildlands Oracle DLC now that they fixed the Nvidia 20X0 issue. Was fun to kill baddies with the punnisher lol

I disagree with the second one. While they do need to start releasing more heroes, they dont really need more than one every couple months at most. maybe a new map every year as well.

People are too impatient, and expect to much to fast.

the season pass was very crappy: terrible rewards. decent hero.
just about every single update and fix has either backfired unexpectedly or has just done nothing. the buff to longbow is probably the best single thing they've done.
continued lack of solo mode/dual mode/ranked mode has been a problem
certain abilities/heroes are basically useless, or very situational and have been almost from the start.
hitbox issues with wraith, robot, caustic, and gibraltar

i think the game just took off way faster than they could have expected, and they're struggling with that.

Thanks for the review, I enjoyed the first one a lot so I have thought about the 2nd a few times. This gives me pause.

A lot of people love it, so it could just be me though. Technically I can't really put my finger on what it is I'm not enjoying: it's a solid game, very similar to the first.

Planetside 2 having a major upgrade to DirectX 11 last week and it having a double XP bug all week, at least I'm seeing major like 200vs200 player fight. It was awesome till the server lags. When they patched the bug earlier this week most server is deserted again. They should've kept it, it was very fun to kept players enjoying the game.

I'm still playing Witcher 3 for countless hours if I'm not playing Planetside 2. In Skellige now level 25 just doing its sidequest. I'm pretty much OP for main storyline now which around level 19. Still one of the best games I play in recent times.

Deadcore is 75% off, comes in at €2,49. I liked other speedrunning games, but the feeling of the jumps felt a little off. I didn't feel like the jumps were rewarding: either I accidentally get it right, or I die. Refunded within the hour. Sorry devs.

Finally started playing a game this year and its only June. Finished main story in Assassin's Creed Odyssey and moved through the first chapter of the Legacy DLC.

Edit: On a side note I do find the mercenary non sense in this game annoying. I guess they have cell phones in this era as the min. you start tearing up a fort you have 3 of them right behind you. I liked Origins better in this respect.
