Ok, preordered from G2play. It's the first time I buy anything from there, and every pixel of their site smells like scam, but you fine people don't seem to have problems with them so...I gave it a shot.

Whatever protection is being used on DS2 seems to be working great. No crack at all, just like HAWX 2. Meanwhile the anger on the yarrr boards is hilarious

Normally I would agree but the PS3 version comes with lots of goodies.

-DS Extraction
-DS Ignition
-Extra Plasma Cutter (Don't need to reload in tight spots, which is huge)

I also got a $10 discount coupon from EB so the game only costed me $50.

Playing on Zealot difficulty right now.

No I hasn't beat it yet. Zealot is only the 2nd hardest setting. Getting hit by a mob "only" takes 2 health bars away. There is one more after.

I heard that if you have a saved game from Dead Space 1 on your PC you will get early access to the plasma cutter in the sequel...when loading up the game for the first time it tells me that I have unlocked the refurbished plasma cutter...but I don't see it in my inventory...I can get the plasma cutter early in Chapter 1 in the Medical Lab, but isn't that where everyone can find it?

how do I get the plasma cutter right from the beginning of the game?

my understanding is that the plasma cutter you unlock by importing a save is basically just a reskin of the one you get in the 2nd game to make it look like the one from the first game. it doesn't have any special properties, nor do you get it earlier than normal. you'll have to wait till you get the regular one and then choose maybe?

i could be wrong though, but i think this is it.

DS Ignition should in no way be allowed to be categorized as a goodie, it's more like a giant **** you from ea.

The download speed from EADM was great, It finished downloading and installing dead space 2 in less than 40 minutes, not bad for a game that is 10GB.

I predict that DS2 will go on sale for $29.99 over the July 4th weekend, and $19.99 during the December holidays. I don't see this game coming down to the $9.99 point until December 2012 at the earliest.

Yup, my key came also. G2Play is frickin' awesome. 1 day before and purchase at half the price. Can't complain at all. Download speed is also maxing out my connection. Should be done in about 3-4 hours.

Great game so far. The sound design is insane.
The only 2 annoyances are related with the lack of AA (I tried the NV inspector trick, and prefer playing the game with maxed shadows, so no AA for me) and the big one: 3D stereo is screwed.
It runs beautifully too: capped in refresh, at 120fps.
