they honestly never did say that. They just said they will improve the action and make it a lot more fun, not that there will be more of it. Now every press event they do is started with producr explaining the proportions of horror to action are still the same
The game looks spectacular, no game from E3 line-up at recent London event made such a big impression of me as this one

This is turning out to be exciting. Loved the first one though end boss in first was like someone threw a turd at the game. Too easy but I loved this game and the associated comics and movie and all that jizz.

It's different though, you can see Isaac's face in dead space on two occasion and you can read his memo/thoughts on the objective screen, so not exactly the freeman type.

Can't wait for the sequel, it's just more dead space with better graphics, just the way I want it

The last scene on dead space is in 3rd person too

But I agree, if the cutscenes are all like that in game it'll ruin the immersion.

Hopefully that's just the cg for the trailer/intro.

Seems like L4D, you will most likely be able to play the necromorphs, I bet. Man this studio keeps getting compared to other games. First God of War and now L4D.

I think my only real complaint about the original was that i dont have any desire to replay it, maybe thats because its was very linear and story based but i will probably replay it just before DS 2 comes out just to reaquaint myself with the story.

Man I am still playing through Dead Space 1. God damn some parts they really push the M rating to it's limits! It's crazy how much gore there is in this game, I've never seen anything like it.

Plus you see really ****ed up things. Things like guys without skin and their guts hanging out knocking their heads against the wall. Then a chick torturing some dude with a saw and then killing herself. Not to mention, blood, brains, corpses and guts scattered all around the floor, especially at the morgue (duh ).

I remember when the NPC tells you "ok, make your way through the morgue to the captain! the way should be clear all the way through!" I was like "yeah right..."

They really pushed this game to the absolute limit of M.

I appreciate the boldness of it, sure. I was still impressed they didn't get an AO rating though.

I wonder if they are going to go in the same direction with Dead Space 2? Surely the majority of people who bought Dead Space couldn't tolerate the content and finish the game? It intrigues me.

I am a pretty resilient fella, but even this is on a pretty high level of gore. Haven't seen any other game with this amount of persistent and "realistic" gore.

Thank you very much In fact the kid is very silent/ calm but not a good idea to leave him with wife and go gaming to the other side of the house where my main PC is. That's even without mentioning that the house is kind of creepy at night, lot of strange sounds, no close neighbours and not very populated area overall. Add the fact that people visiting me were describing people they saw here who at the time were already dead (first time visitors and low chances they heard about those dead people before) and my gaming hours shrink to daytime with sun at full blast

So evenings I sit with them and my netbook, watch Trailer Park Boys, play Europa Universalis and post here

Does it work with nV only?

DX9 downsampling is explained for nV only but should work with ATI imo fooling the monitor it can go higher res and using CCC GPU scaling option but it's only a wild guess.

DX10/11 looks like it is for both vendors (again just a guess) but I didn't analyze it beyond first read because SSAA tool is easier and probably better IQ.

Would be nice from both ATI and nV to make AA work somehow in Dead Space. I can force AO from nVidia CP and that paired with SSAA would make me one happy terrorized IQ w**** geek

Mature only means 15 (17 in some countries) plus, or teen adult, it is stupid though.

Ratings much like censorship is heavily influenced by the governing bodies moral/religious beliefs.

In the US, a child can be exposed to violence just fine but the moment a naked body is shown OMG that is evil and only adults can see it.

I'm all for a belief system in our lives but they need to keep their religious beliefs out of my viewing/gaming life.

The difference between an M and an AO is probably just virtual nakedness in some form or another and quite frankly I don't get the hooplah over it.
