Finished the game tonight, 13 hours (some of you guys must be really rushing!) - it's pretty amazing.
It was difficult for me though - a lot tougher than the original. I was playing with my 360 pad, and there was about 3 times where I had to switch to mouse and keyboard to be able to aim faster.
I loved the Ishimura section. I had replayed DS1 immediately before started DS2, and the omages in DS2 to events that happened in the first were cool.
There are still some aspects of the original that I prefer (for example, I actually kind of like the more sedate pacing), but DS2 certainly has plenty jaw gaping incredible moments. I'm looking forward to replaying with different weapons.

Regarding power nodes, I could buy enough to 100% upgrade all 4 of my weapons (plasma cutter, line beam, prox mine [which is excellent BTW], and force gun [seems a little nerfed compared to DS1]) , about 80% upgrade stasis, and upgrade my HP twice (which is all you need). You just need to stomp everything and sell extra stuff. I usually only kept two medium and 3 small health kits on me, 3 stacks of of plasma cutter ammo, one or two stacks each for my other weapons, and sold everything beyond that. One thing I missed for about the first hour of play is that you need to stomp necromorphs to get them to drop stuff - because you didn't need to do that in the first one. In DS2 every type of necromorph is pretty much guaranteed to drop something when you stomp it. It gets slightly tedious, but diligent stomping is how you rack up a lot of cash.
