man I really want to start a second play through, but I am going to wait til they release the patch which puts in all the stuff they left out of the pc version for completing the game on the second play through and hardcore etc..
As it stands now there is absolutely zero incentive to go through the game again, although it is a great game.

Usually, "spacebar" = stomp and E = "action". However, if you need to press "e" to get rid of a monster that grabbed you, or to progress further in the cutscene, like what you experienced, a big "E" should be flashing on your monitor.Originally posted by KACGays if I had boyfriends your mums wouldn’t have produced your sorry asses.

I just passed dead space today, so i will try multiplayer tomorrow, but it would have to be *******G UNBELIEVABLE for me to stop playing BFBC2 for MP.
Dead Space 1 and 2 are such awesome SP games, as is HL series, Metro, STALKER, etc etc etc, that the lack of MP should in no way stop you from getting the game. I think I understand how you feel: they promise multiplayer, it should work well, so if it doesn't, am I getting ripped off? I really wouldn't worry about it, and enjoy the SP experience99% of mainly SP titles have TERRIBLE mp, so if you only buy games that have good mp playing value, you are really limiting yourself and not enjoying, imo, awesome games.

ye, i think im asking for too much. games that have both sp and mp amazing, are quite rare, true. And i do buy single player games, but i value mutliplayer games a bit more, unless its an rpg that i know will be worth it in raw hours/dollar ratio.
still curious though if its anywhere near as good as l4d versus modes.

Beated the game @Survivalist mode in less than 7 hours w/ a fully upgrades suit/plasma cutter. Haven't touched the other weapons.
The ambient sounds in this game are of the scale! Running around in the dark, hearing monsters run around you, babies crying. DAMN!
9/10 - except the last boss was a joke.
I died once there because I focuses on those children but all you have to do is focus on killing Nicole and then shoot at the boss when it opens up. Takes like 30 seconds to beat it.

I think the MP was very well done and the SP is A+++ of course.
I am loving DS2, I am parallel playing it on the PS3 and PC at the same time.
2 different experiences.
One in a dark living room, on a 55" flat screen and uncompressed multi channel sound.
The other on a decent gaming PC with multichannel headphones.
I am surprised the tech of this game isn't being talked up more.
I know it is a console port but I am very impressed by the lighting and smoke effects (at least on the PC).
Walking around and seeing the smoke being displaced as I walk through it without a frame dip.
Not sure what physics engine they are using but I am impressed.

Stalker even had a decent multiplayer tacked on to it, though it wasn't very popular.Never put off tomorrow what you can put off today!

playing the single player, not very far in but i'm already liking it a lot more than the original dead space.
i have a question... is it worth holding on to power nodes to unlock the secret doors? the reason i ask is because power nodes were relatively rare in dead space 1, so it wouldn't make sense to use them up just for ammo resupplies. on the other hand, if something as important as suit upgrade schematics are behind closed doors, then it's definitely worth saving the power nodes. in fact, is it possible to get the suit upgrades through the normal course of the game or do you have to look around for them and stuff? i'd like to get them all because, imo, the suit upgrades are the single most important thing in the game.

buying nodes at 10,000 credits a piece seems too expensive if you ask me. i save all my money for suit upgrades... just played through dead space a couple of weeks ago and i remember that the suit upgrades cost 50,000 credits near the end. unless money is a lot easier to find in this game?
you said the suit upgrades show up later. does that mean it will automatically be in the store if i miss the schematic? or does it mean that the schematic will show up again later on in the levels or something?

dont worry, you have more than enough money to buy the suits. buying the nodes makes a difference between struggling to survive in every room and enjoying destroying those guys.
if you want to save up, save up, but you really dont need to, there is SO much supplies lying around, you definitely dont need to save up for suits.
My formula was like this after i got to store:
-sell all ammo types i dont need
-sell items that are only able to be sold
-sell stasis refresher thing
-sell excess health/ammo i would need but have extra
-buy as many nodes as i can till i get to <10,000
-leave store.
with this plan, i was fully upgraded with my rig and 2 weapons by chapter 10, and only once did I not have enough for a suit, and i got it 10 minutes later at the next store, and i needed an extra 20,000 for that one hahaha.
About the suits, dont worry, you will find it. Its literally impossible not to find the schematics, they keep showing up in the level if you miss them.Originally posted by KACGays if I had boyfriends your mums wouldn’t have produced your sorry asses.

I am playing normal btw, dudes. if you play on harder, they might be moar rare. Again, remember to use kinesis to kill the bad guys. sometimes its very convenient. You kill the first guy in the mob, and the way he falls, you see his claws easily, detach them, and hold it in front of you, waiting for the next guy. You can save a lotta ammo this way.Last edited by bob saget; Feb 3, 2011, 03:08 AM.Originally posted by KACGays if I had boyfriends your mums wouldn’t have produced your sorry asses.

going to stick with the plasma cutter and plasma rifle for the common ammo they share. i also picked up the refurbished plasma cutter. turns out the saved game from dead space 1 was still in my documents folder even after i uninstalled the first game. it is kind of pointless though... you'd never want to use it after you've upgraded the new plasma cutter a bit. unless you spend power nodes upgrading both, which is just boring and

I think i like the plasma cutter from the first game better. The laser aiming beams seem much wider apart.
dont waste node on the "alternate fire" path of upgrading, its worthless. focus on damage.
as you are playing, keep an eye out for your ammo count. if you are getting low on one type, switch to the other.Last edited by bob saget; Feb 3, 2011, 03:26 AM.Originally posted by KACGays if I had boyfriends your mums wouldn’t have produced your sorry asses.

I played it on normal had a ton of money at the end and nodes and health packs and ammo, so yes you have nothing to worry about as far as spending money and using a node on a door.
I only upgraded my suit and two weapons though. Matter of fact Both games I have never used any weapon besides the flamethrower, pulse rifle and plasma cutter. When they patch the game to make playing through again actually give you the suits it is supposed to, I will play again and try out the other weapons.
